Description

My name is Amalia (although I sometimes go by Mollie) and I'm a solo traveler born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduating university, I took a job at as an administrative assistant at a nonprofit but left in April, 2023. I've been on the road ever since, making my way through my bucket list destinations and some last-minute ones I never planned to visit and picking up new hobbies and interests along the way (scuba diving!).

I am always picking up new books faster than I can read them, enjoy photography in the early morning, and make the best cinnamon rolls in the world.

I love to travel slowly and soak up the local life of anywhere I stay. I find that staying with locals and expats who have lived in a place for a while is like a fast track to getting to know a place. It always proves to be a rewarding experience as traveler, and gives me the chance to share my language, life, and perspectives with others as well. The best part of travel is people (followed closely by food!).

I am always happy to do a language exchange! I am fluent in English and studied English language and literature in college. I have studied Spanish for a number of years in school, so I am always looking to learn more.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a lot of experience with child care from working at a summer camp and during the COVID-19 lockdown I was responsible for babysitting my nine-year-old cousin fulltime (remote school, afterschool activities/enrichment, trying to make the lockdown a little easier for a young kid).

I am also an experienced pet sitter, with long-term and short-term house petting sitting jobs in my hometown. I've mainly cared for dogs, cats, and chickens but welcome the acquaintance of any new animal friend!

On the more technical side of things, I have a lot of experience in customer service and with basic computer programs (Microsoft Office suit, WordPress) as well as general office and administrative asks. I am also able to clean, cook, and do any odd jobs that need to be done. I have a Bachelor's degree in public health and English. Photography is my hobby, but if there is something you would like photographed I am happy to help and can edit photographs in Lightroom.

I have an international drivers license.

I am always happy to pick up a new skill!
