Matthew:
One of my biggest motivations in life is the desire to experience many different perspectives of the world through the eyes of many different people. This is one of my main reasons for traveling. I enjoy learning about different ways to live. Working in many different industries helps accomplish the goal of learning different ways to live. I enjoy being active through yoga, rock climbing, skateboarding. I was a cook/chef for many years and love to cook for people that are appreciative of food as I feel it always brings people from different backgrounds to a common ground. I am a very passionate and caring person that is accepting of all types of people and perspectives. Hope to meet you soon!

Clint:
Life is one big learning experience, and I believe everyone has something to offer that could benefit another person's life. Being open minded is the key to gaining knowledge and having new experiences. For the past 8 years, I have enjoyed traveling to various countries around the world. My main focus has been to backpack the world's most scenic landscapes and to get a glimpse into the lives of indigenous people living remotely. I am a very active person with lots of energy to tackle physical tasks but generally maintain a gentle and soft spoken demeanor, always with a smile on my face. I'm grateful to live a life of adventure and to meet new people from around the world. I have previous experience in landscaping and housekeeping, along with other general household tasks such as painting and basic assembly of furniture. Nonetheless, I am great at taking direction and any new skill learned will be done with pleasure. I look forward to meeting you soon!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Mattie:
When I was growing up I had an obsession with food and cooking that continues to this day, this includes where food comes starting from the ground. I have been cooking in and out of restaurants since I was 15, have worked on organic farms and gardens as a farmhand on and off throughout my life, had a short stint as a stablehand for a circus in North America (before becoming their staff chef), blackjack dealer for a Hard Rock Casino, and tour guide for a National park in New Zealand. All in all I have a varied occupational background that gave me the ability to deal with people and also work well individually. I am fit, hardworking, driven, and love helping people accomplish their dreams which is one of the reasons I am excited to find a fantastic work away opportunity.

Clint:
Not gonna lie, Mattie is a master chef. I've had a few cooking jobs in my day but I don't know anyone else who has that much talent in the kitchen. As for myself, I've done a fair bit of dirty work. I have experience in disaster cleanup including full home demolition, mold, fire, water, and flooded sewage cleanings. I have even cleaned up after dead bodies before. On the flip side I also have experience in hotel housekeeping as well. Along with indoor cleaning I have also worked in landscaping and have an eye for outdoor aesthetics. Photography and videography are also passions of mine and I would love to be of any assistance if you are looking to create content for your personal website or any digital project. I'm an avid backpacker who loves natural settings and I have the stamina and physical fitness to go all day if needed. I have also been skateboarding for almost two decades of my life so if that is something you're interested in learning than I'm your guy! Me and Mattie are best buds so we can easily work together as a team or solo depending on the tasks required. One thing that's for sure is that we're both very excited to meet new people, learn new things, and make lifelong memories through workaway!

Mattie:
I am an amateur geologist and gem dealer who is quite literally obsessed with rocks. I always have a personal collection of my favorite minerals with me. I love to rockhound and mine and hope to do this in many different countries. I love practicing card tricks and also have a collection of cards with me as well. Photography is a huge passion of mine and I always carry my digital camera with me. In the last few years I have gotten into diving and snorkeling, even working as a diver for a National Park in New Zealand. I really love being near to beautiful open water and wildlife. I am also an amateur DJ who loves to play guitar and trumpet. I love to listen to different types of music from all over the world, and especially from indigenous cultures.

Clint:
I have a YouTube Channel named Backcountry Clint where I document my long distance treks and cultural experiences from around the world. This could be a good way to get a glimpse of my character before contacting us if you so desire. Indigenous cultures fascinate me and I love to learn about the ways of life of those most untouched by western globalization (where I come from). I seek to explore countries that have very few tourists in order to have an authentic culture experience. I also choose to visit countries simply for their mountains and trekking opportunities. In Australia especially I would love to volunteer somewhere nature based where I can experience local wildlife and beautiful landscapes nearby.
