Hello hosts!

We are a family of 4, Jesper (33) comes from Denmark and Aïscha (33) comes from the Netherlands. Together with Alaka'i (almost 3) and Keala (8 months) we are looking for people to connect with!


We are very well adjusted to remote and outdoor circumstances as a family. Our kids have traveled since they were only 4 weeks old. We raise our kids according to Scandinavian outdoor standards, "Der findes ikke dårligt vejr, kun forkerte klæ'r". So we are always prepared for any circumstances to be outdoors.
We're very minimalistic and have lived in a van, yurt and multiple tiny spaces and teach our kids how to maneuver around things like a woodstove. We actually only need the bare minimum. Our kids are very well behaved and great with animals.
We're taking this year to spend more time with our kids and teach them about nature, animals and connecting with people from a young age.

We are a strong team as a hospitality couple. Our existing skills include:

We have set the next goals for our Workaway adventure:
- to connect with other people and their cultures
- to get our kids familiar with animals and animal care
- to get our family outdoors more
- to learn and teach/share all the skills we have to offer


We are very flexible and are willing to stay long term if it 'clicks' between us!


We are Jesper & Aïscha, a Danish-Dutch couple that actually met through Workaway! In 2016 we were both volunteering at an amazing hostel on an island in Italy. We have been together ever since that summer.

Jesper (33) comes from a city called Næstved, situated an hour from Copenhagen, Denmark. He worked there for 4 years as department manager for a large warehouse. He really enjoys seeing new places, exploring the unknown and observe and live the traditional lives of the natives, in their respective countries. He also likes learning languages, and reckons that the best way to do so, is to travel, hearing and speaking it yourself. That is why he traveled around Italy and spend a year there to learn the language. In his sparetime, he always played a lot of sports, in particular football, which he has played almost his whole life. He also passes time watching movies, reading books, relaxing and spending time with friends. During the lockdown he taught himself to draw and play a little bit of basic guitar.

Aïscha (34) comes from Groningen, a small city in the north of the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor of music degree, is a singer songwriter & performer and worked internationally as a volunteer manager and event manager for cultural and music festivals. She has worked in several restaurants, hotels and hostels and she enjoys welcoming travelers and telling them the ins- and outs of the place where she resides. She has done a fair amount of volunteer work, especially related to indigenous cultures. Like Jesper, she also likes to learn languages, she learned Danish while working as an au pair at a Danish family. She loves the outdoors and seeks adrenalin rushes in outdoor sports like hiking, surfing and kayaking. After having kids she dove into postpartum care since our society lacks immensely in this aspect. So she studied to become a certified postpartum herbalist, masseuse and caretaker. Currently she is on maternity leave, but normally works in tourism.

Alaka'i (2) is an adventurous, easy going and social little boy. He loves music, reading and climbing. He understands Danish, Dutch, English and Bahasa Indonesia. We would love to stay at a place where he can practice speaking Dutch, Indonesian, Norwegian or Swedish but are open to any other language for him to be immersed into.

Keala (8months) is a very easy baby that is flexible and used to traveling and new faces and environments, since we started traveling with her since she was 4 weeks old. We can easily do work with her wrapped on our back.

We have traveled together in Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Slovenia, Spain and Portugal where we loved to explore the outdoors and went on outdoor adventures.

We are excited to work at places where they can use our existing skills and where we can learn new skills! And are very eager to exchange cultures!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Jesper: Great experience in customer care, is used to juggling many things at the same time and has a fork lift drivers license. Makes great gin & tonics and likes to build stuff, dig holes and chop wood. Speaks Danish and English fluently and has a B1 diploma in Italian. He also understands Dutch, Swedish and Norwegian.

Aïscha: Great experience in hospitality, has several certificates related to customer service and the hotel & restaurant industry. Is used to organizing big events and managing large groups of voluteers. Is specialized in postpartum herbalism, massage and care, specifically from the Moluccan islands. Has a good sense for intercultural communication. Is able to help you with your social media. Experienced au pair and mother of 2. Can cook for large groups. Can join jamsessions by the bonfire by singing and playing guitar or ukulele and is a social butterfly. Speaks Dutch, English , Indonesian, Malay, Danish and understands Swedish and Norwegian.
