KIA ORA!

We are Emelyn and Dylan, a French couple of respectively 26- and 31-year-old.
We both met in Poland (2019) where we did an awesome voluntary project for 10 months in Special Schools. We didn’t stop dreaming about travelling around the World together since then! Dylan’s dream was to discover NZ, and here we are! We arrived last July and first started working in Auckland for 3 months and a half. I worked for YMCA in a Hotel as a Duty Manager and Dylan in a construction site. We learned so much from these experiences.

After traveling 2 months in the Northland and in the South Island, we would love to stop somewhere to take a break from our road trip, meet new people, and discover more about NZ’s culture and its lifestyle. We see wwoofing as a mutual exchange and a way to forge connections. My partner and I love to cook. That’s something we miss a lot, cooking in a kitchen, make some bread, cookies and much more. We also miss French Cuisine, so we would be very happy to cook for you and discover NZ cuisine at the same time!

Finding a job would be something we consider doing after our workaway experience.


Dylan: I have been a plumber for more than a decade, so I developed many skills in construction and renovation in that area. I am an active and dynamic person. I like spending time in the nature, it’s something I treasure as I grew up in the French Alps.
I always find something useful to do around me and like to spend some time to organise and tidy up my place. Even though I am organised and professional, I always like joking and having fun.
On my spare time, I love to cook and eat! But that’s not the only thing of course. I love sport and never say no to a physical activity: ski, kayak, biking, hiking, speleology, canyoning and so on.


Emelyn: I recently graduated in social work/special education. I am an ex-village girl - grew up surrounded by nature, fields, and hundreds of cows that I loved to visit on weekends. But I quickly became a city-girl after studying and working in Paris. That's one of the reasons I am in New Zealand and want to experiment wwoofing/workaway - reconnect to nature and animals, live a different type of life for once. We started to change our lifestyle by living in a Van (nothing exceptional here you would think, but that was a huge step for me).

I love skydiving, skiing, canyoning, speleology, hiking, biking, and CrossFit but to be honest, in my daily life I tend to be a calmer person and like to watch movies, video editing, sewing, I can mow the lawn, clean, organise and tidy indoors and outdoors and do some small renovations, fixing in the house. I may be a city girl, but I know how to use a screwdriver/drill and much more!
I am not afraid to leave my comfort zone one more time and find it exciting to learn new skills and discover different jobs. I really wanted to try working in a Farm, taking care of animals or get my hands dirty in a field. I am hard working person and a fast learner. But I am very happy to do any other kind of tasks!

Dylan and I have very different experiences and skills but we sure are a great mix!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Small fixings indoors and outdoors, mowing the grass, removing weed.
Dylan has extended knowledges in plumbing and heating system, and knows about renovation and construction.
As for me, I am creative and learn fast. I can adapt to any task required. (Some say I am the master at assembling Ikea's furnitures). My social worker's skills might not be useful in a farm but I will appreciate your company, I am very talkative and have always something to say!

We both love animals and don't mind cleaning paddocks, feeding them.

I am a very chill person, that doesn't like to make a fuss. I do what you want me to do and I'll try to do it the best way possible to meet your expectations.

I feel that it is really important to have time for myself as well to charge my batteries but I would not mind enjoy a cup of coffee with you and have looooong conversations, I am a very talkative person! But I know when to stop haha

I love playing to board games and discover new ones.
I love making brazilian bracelets and would love to discover how to crochet one day, I find it very relaxing.
If I had time, I would have 1000 hobbies!
