Description

Hello everyone ! :)

Our names are Adèle and Léna. I'm currently studying Biological Engineering at the University of Compiègne in France, and Léna is a 23-year-old nurse with two years of experience. We've decided to embark on this adventure together in New Zealand to live and learn through volunteering.

Doing workaway is a part of our gap year project, scheduled for February 2024. For 2 years, I (Adèle) was part of an association that sold organic and local products to students, aiming to make them accessible while limiting costs. This experience sparked my interest in discovering what farm work really entails and learning about different agricultural production methods. Léna shares this curiosity and is excited to explore farm life with me.

Léna is not only a dedicated nurse but also a compassionate and communicative person. She has a remarkable ability to connect with people, making her excellent at teamwork and community living. Her strong sense of sharing and communication ensures that we both will be active participants in any community we join. Moreover, Léna speaks English very well, which will facilitate our interactions and integration.

Coming to meet you, help you, and discover your different lifestyles and practices will be a source of knowledge and cultural enrichment for both of us. We also aim to improve our English for professional purposes and are very open to meetings and discussions. We are both very motivated in our quest and wish to make our gap year an unforgettable experience through our exchanges.

We are sporty and enjoy being active. Although neither of us has extensive farm work experience, we are eager to learn and adapt quickly to your needs. Cheerful and optimistic, we are enthusiastic about participating in all activities and tasks.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a student in Biological Genie and realize this year my last at the University.
During my studies, I completed a 6-month internship in a microbiology research laboratory. This internship allowed me to understand the workplace and quickly adapt to the requirements is imposed.
I volunteer to learn and discover new things.

I am very sporty and manual work does not scare me. I grew up part of my childhood in the countryside and I know the constraints that can exist on the farm and am comfortable with animals.

I have during my studies been able to experience childcare and am similarly very comfortable with children.
I am voluntary and dynamic and easily adapt to the work requested.

I am passionate about hiking and love discovering new landscapes. I also practice in leisure, crossfit, badminton, volleyball and climbing. I also like outdoor outings and board games.
