Description
We are the newest winery in the Texas Davis Mountains AVA (American Viticultural Area), a high-elevation mountainous part of the Big Bend region near Marfa. Our mission is to produce exciting and authentic wines of place using our own sustainably farmed fruit in a low-impact operation from start to finish.

Our workawayers get to enjoy high mountain sunshine, cool nights, brilliant stars and awe-inspiring thunderstorms. In addition I can teach a great deal of the process of winemaking and grape farming, depending on the time of the year. I've also created a lot of sourdough acolytes over the years.

Aide
I'm looking for enthusiastic people who want to learn more about farming, gardening, and winemaking. The vibe here is more important than the details, but I expect the travelers who come through here to be flexible and good natured, and interested in more than just work. We try to strike a balance here between the labor that must be done to keep the farm running and the time that should to be spent on the other things necessary to fully enjoy life.
We have a variety of projects ongoing, the most important of which is caring for the vines in the vineyard. The specifics depend on the time of year, but spring pruning and fall harvest are the busiest times.
We also generally have some building projects happening, and we like to work with natural materials like adobe and straw bale when we build. We also do some conventional timber frame and hybrid construction where more appropriate.
We offer the state minimum wage of $7.25 or better, depending on circumstances. Please send a message to discuss.Langues parlées

Hébergement
We have several small private bedrooms where helpers can stay, plus a communal sleeping space. Most of the time there are enough rooms for each helper to have their own, but if there aren't I generally give the private rooms to couples before solo travelers.
