  Description

  At the moment we are looking for people to help with the rescue and guests (dogs and cats).
  Preferably you will be between the ages of 28-38 years old, can separate work from pleasure, and if you find you fit the "work hard play hard" scenario, you're likely to be perfect for what we are looking for!
  Minimum 1 month **
  
  We are also looking for experienced DIY house helpers who can fix a few things. It will only take you your first week to complete and the rest of your stay is on us! Or you can choose to spread it out over two weeks. XYou can stay involved with whatever we are up to, or go off and explore more and do your own thing.
  Minimum : 2 week stay **
  
  Other requirements:
  We are only accepting last minute requests from those already inside turkey and ready to roll, those with experience, an informative profile, and those who meet the criteria of what else we mentioned we are looking for.
  
  +You must have a Turkish SIM card.
  +You must have financial means to support yourself while you're in Turkey and be able to prove that.
  +REFERENCES* upon request (pls be prepared with contact information for anyone who can vouch for your experience and/or character)
  +You MUST have entered Turkey legally and be residing in Turkey legally (visa waiver, visa, or resident permit) with at least 60 days remaining.
  + It's winter season in Turkey, which means ☀️ sunny days that are warm, sunny days 🌞 that are freezing 🧊 , COLD winter rain 🌧️ ( A LOT) , short periods of ❄️ but it's usually a lot, COLD 🥶 winter 🌬️ winds.
  You must be prepared with proper all weather clothing to accommodate the needs for dog walking 👣 🐾***
  (Waterproof shoes/boots with good traction, gloves,jacket,👟, 🧤, 🧥, hat, and whatever you need to stay warm and dry ❤️
  Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to accept our volunteer choosing not to protect themselves from the elements as we know they aren't tolerable or healthy, and without proper footwear you won't be safe in conditions either. Istanbul is filled with public stairs and steep hills.

  We are all amazing at cooking Turkish food and always love someone who has interest to join in with meal preps. We are passionate about history here and have a museum passes so someone can accompany you on tours around the city and even plan some mini tours or staycations for you.
  We always have something going on.
  If you want to learn English or/Turkish this is a great opportunity as they are the two main languages spoken within our team!
  Weekly:
  We top up your phone with GB and minutes up to 150tl.
  We give a 450tl allowance so you can enjoy some coffee ☕. and delicious Turkish sweets on us 🍬🍭

  We have some plastering that needs done to two ceilings after water damage, a small portion of wall to be repaired after it was removed to access a broken pipe, and some painting. (MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE. We would love to see some samples of past projects you've completed 💜)

  HOUSE HELP AND PET HELP:
  There are daily house chores, general pet care, and more than not, you will be walking the dogs.
  Your schedule and tasks will be outlined every 2 weeks to make sure it works for you, and that way we can make sure our schedules compliment your needs and the needs we have for each of ourselves and the home and duties. It is imperative that the Workawayer sees this as a team effort and that we can work together, as well as handle our independent responsibilities.
  Candidates must have a genuine desire to explore Istanbul and Turkish culture here.

  Hours for dog walking 8am- 1040am, and 4pm-640pm, 5 days a week(your choice on days , but to be scheduled two weeks in advance).

  Hours for social media help or house help:
  8am-1pm 5 days a week (to be determined).
  
  As a dog walker this is not a leisurely type of dog walking. We define your route to make sure you avoid any areas that are hard to navigate due to excessive traffic, construction, and stray dogs and cats. We do this ourselves too in order to provide the most leisure for the dogs on their walks. But for us it still remains a dedicated task. This time isn't intended to be used for any personal errands such as stopping into a cafe or market. Your hands should be free and we will ask you to use an app of your choice which is favorite among dog walkers to track their route. Also we are glad to consider any app you personally use and prefer.
  Your attention should be focused on the dogs and the environment, so long convos on the phone (even handfree) is not acceptable. The dogs require the bonding time and attention that they are provided by the person caring for them during the walks. Additionally, this is a fast paced metropolitan city with 24 million people inside it. You must have your attention towards your environment and the fur babies.
  Again, handsfree, so texting etc. is not going to be ok. You'll have a 10 minute break in between 3 - 40 minute walks. Each walk will be one or two dogs only. And we do our best to make sure we are able to partner you up with the same dogs each time.
  We will get you orientated and comfortable with everything. Kindly note that these conditions are strictly enforced.
  
  We will ask any house helpers to embrace the pets inside the home without any reservation. They are all safe although sometimes loud and full of love and wanting attention.
  As well the standard respect for our privacy and the moveable and immovable property of the home is expected from all our guests.
  And of course, common respect and courtesy to the people of the unit you're at is imperative.
  We understand some people aren't as social with others. We will respect your space and your time. While we are working together, we will support you in every way possible.

  There are two opportunities available and depending on what fits for you, you will have two choices for accommodation:
  Single females:
  Small female dorm in quiet, clean hostel nearby. NOT a party hostel. Normally used by students, travel teachers...
  
  Couples: Furnished room in a shared flat nearby to rescue.

  OPPORTUNITIES AT THE FOSTER HOME:
  This is a spacious home where you will have one small bedroom equipped with all you need, to include a single bed, shelving unit, open wardrobe where you can hang your clothing, and a small desk and chair. There is a toilet room, and a small shower room in the home. Shared areas will be the kitchen and living room. Wifi but no television.

  There are ferryboats, trains, and buses all within walking distance as well as a load of seaside activities to include rowing, paddleboarding, cycling, rollerblading, picnic-ing, relaxation, yoga, open volley ball and football clubs, and outdoor gyms. Additionally there is nightlife, lots of Turkish style cafes, facilities to take on a new hobi, Turkish language schools, access to Old City and tourist attractions (10-20 minutes direct on public transportation), an intercity fast train for some getaways on your time off too....transportation at your doorstep.
