  Description

  We are a family of two. Uli is 60 years old and I am 58. We live in a sustainable and ecological way and pass on what we know to whoever wants. We are in the Cuxtal reserve. In a Mayan town Located about 45 minutes from the center of Merida Yucatán. We are far away and it is not so easy to leave the town every day. There are small stores where you can get all the basics for your meals. Life here is about relaxing and being outside the system. There is a hacienda that has a natural cenote water pond where you pay 2 pesos and you can cool off from Tuesday to Sunday with water from the cenote.
  In the surroundings there are several very interesting Cenotes and archaeological sites that you can reach from Mérida on weekends when they leave, or pay for a motorcycle taxi to take them.

  Somos una familia de dos personas Uli tiene 61 años y yoThais 60 vivimos de una manera sustentable y ecológica y queremos trasmitir a quien quiera lo que sabemos . Estamos en la Reserva de Cuxtal. En un pueblo maya Ubicado a unos 45 minutos del centro de Merida Yucatán. Estamos alejados y no es tan fácil salir todos los días del pueblo . Hay tiendas pequeñas donde se consigue todo lo básico para sus comidas . La vida aquí es para relajarse y estar fuera del sistema hay una hacienda que tiene un estanque de agua natural de cenote donde pagas 2 pesos y puedes refrescarte de martes a domingo con agua del cenote fresca .
  En los alrededores hay varios Cenotes y sitios arqueológicos muy interesantes a los que puedes llegar desde Mérida los fines de semana cuando salen ,o pagar un moto taxi que los lleve .

  Oportunidad para aprender Español ,sobre cocina Ancestral yucateca/Mexicana y dietas vegetarianas/ veganas. Preparar y aplicar pinturas ecológicas . Sembrar plantas y aprenderán de sus usos medicinales .
  Conocer la hermosa cultura Maya y todas las maravillas que Yucatán tiene para ofrecer, sobre todo aprender reciclaje, carpintería , a vivir de una manera mas amigable con el medio ambiente Y hacer nuevos amigos .

  Aide

  We are looking for volunteers who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, are not afraid of heat and mosquitoes, collect stones, remove roots, fill tyres with stones and make retaining walls, clean areas with a lot of weeds to open spaces for camping, planting and pruning trees. Cleaning of areas where there are many stones and weeds, peeling sticks, Japanese burning technique and putting recycled oil on the wood to preserve it, construction of ancestral kitchen, repair of furniture and construction of spaces for the improvements of the project, any kind of art is welcome. Watering and maintenance of plants, herbs and vegetables. The type of work depends on the time you apply. You will know when you contact us. We need reliable people who are willing to help and learn. The help is varied, maintaining and making improvements. We are always hand in hand with the volunteer teaching and speaking in Spanish and explaining why we do what we do, we tell them about the Mayan culture and their surroundings and we like to tell stories to practice Spanish and to get to know each other better. Now it is the rainy season, storms and hurricanes so sometimes the electricity goes out and we don't have internet. Sometimes it lasts a short time, sometimes a day, depending on the weather. But nothing that can't be solved, we are almost always prepared.

  Buscamos voluntarios que no le teman a ensuciarse las manos no le teman al calor y mosquitos ,recoger piedras, sacar raíces ,rellenar llantas con piedras y hacer muros de contención ,limpiar áreas con mucha maleza para abrir espacios para el camping , a sembrar podar árboles . Limpieza de zonas donde hay muchas piedras y mala hierba pelar palos hacer tecnica de quemado japonés y poner aceite reciclado a la madera para conservarla . construcción de cocina ancestral reparación de muebles y construcción de espacios para las mejoras del proyecto, cualquier tipo de arte es bienvenido. Riego y mantenimiento de plantas, hierbas y hortalizas. El tipo de trabajo depende del tiempo en el que apliques. Lo sabrás cuando te pongas en contacto con nosotros. Necesitamos personas de confianza y que traigan ganas de ayudar y aprender . La ayuda es variada manteniendo y haciendo mejoras. Estamos siempre de la mano del voluntario enseñando y hablando en español y explicando porque hacemos cada cosa les contamos de la cultura maya y de sus alrededores y nos gusta contar historias para practicar el español y convivir más. Ahora es época de lluvias ,tormentas y huracanes así que aveces se va la luz y no tenemos internet . Aveces dura poco aveces un día depende del tiempo. Pero nada que no se solucione casi siempre estamos preparados .

  Hébergement

  We have a house for volunteers with rooms shared with other kids depending on availability, there is a palapa with hammocks, a small room with a double bed and bunk bed and a shared bathroom and shower outside. There is space for tents. We are non-smokers and do not accept smokers.
  We offer lunch from Monday to Friday and there are many shops in the village where you can buy everything you need. There are also natural water pools in the village where you can swim from Tuesday to Sunday. On weekends you can go to places near Merida. The house has fans and wifi. The project is close to the house and have bicycles only to go to the project and ride in the village, it is not allowed to go outside with them as they are not in perfect condition. Repairs or theft will be at your expense and also if you damage or break anything in the house you will have to replace it. The washing machine is on our own so please let us know when you need to wash. The campsite is under construction and there is always a lot to do. We have another room in the kitchen with zinc sheeting which is sometimes hot but always has a fan and is very comfortable and separate from the second house.

  Tenemos una casa para los voluntarios con habitaciones compartidas con otros chicos todo depende de la disponibilidad hay una palapa con hamacas ,una pequeña habitación con una cama matrimonial y litera y baño y ducha fuera y compartida . hay espacio para casas de campaña. No somos fumadores y no aceptamos fumadores.
  Ofrecemos la comida del mediodía de lunes a viernes y hay muchas tiendas en el pueblo donde pueden comprar todo lo que necesiten . También hay piscinas de agua natural en el pueblo donde pueden nadar de martes a domingo . Los fines de semana pueden ir a conocer lugares cerca de Mérida . La casa tiene ventiladores y wifi . El proyecto está cerca de la casa y tienen bicicletas solo para ir al proyecto y andar en el pueblo, No se permite salir con ellas fuera ya que no están en perfectas condiciones . Los gastos de reparación o robo irán por cuenta de ustedes y también si dañan o rompen algo de la casa deberán reponerlo . La lavadora nosotros la manejamos así que porfavor pueden avisarnos cuando necesiten lavar. El camping está en construcción y siempre hay muchas cosas por hacer. Tenemos otra habitación en la cocina con lámina de zinc aveces es caliente pero siempre tienen ventilador y es muy cómoda .y está separada de la segunda casa .
