Description
Ciao ;-) We are an English family, who have been living in Italy for six years in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Before this we were 10 years in Zurich, Switzerland. We have two outgoing multi-lingual children, 16 and 14, two friendly Lagotto dogs, Lila and Rufi, and some chickens. We live in an old farmhouse 15 minutes from Siena, surrounded by forest with views of vineyards, olive groves and the ancient volcano of Mount Amiata. My husband and I both work from home - an ecologist working in international development, and an editor for a scientific journal - but when we can we are out working to restore the 8 hectares of land, including 200 productive olive trees. Part of the garden had overgrown over the last 20 years, and we would love help with plans to further rejuvenate this beautiful space. We are ecologically-minded as a family - although not perfect - and lend towards a vegetarian diet, and local produce when possible.

We are in the middle of wine growing area (Chianti Classico), so wonderful for both foodies and nature lovers alike. Culturally, there are easy opportunities to visit our nearby town and UNESCO site, the beautiful medieval Siena. The historical Renaissance city of Florence is an hour away with ample art galleries and historical sites. The Crete Senese is also within reach. San Gimignano, Pienza, Cortona and Pisa are all possible day trips. The area offers fantastic opportunities for both cycling and hiking. We are over a 1km from the nearby village, so peace and tranquility is easy to find.

** LAST-MINUTE : For two weeks in March (7th - 21st) while we are extra-busy, we are looking for help with our dogs, so looking for a couple who love dogs and walking - there are lots of beautiful woodland, and vineyard walks on the doorstep **
Normally, we would love help in the garden. This could involve some more gentle clearing work around the olive trees although we have more active work involving trimming, and brush-cutting in some overgrown areas. It is work suited to active and outdoor-oriented people. There could be some minor household chores too.Langues

We have a separate annex accommodation, with double bedroom and bathroom and private terrace. The space will be yours with beautiful views on the Tuscan countryside, hammock, and access to the pool in the warmer months. Would ideally suit a couple. We are in a rural area, and 15 minutes drive from Siena - so your own transport would be really beneficial although not compulsory.
Autres infos...
For nature-lovers, there will be ample opportunities to explore the Chianti region, and the Crete Senese either by foot or cycling, it really is a cycling paradise. The beautiful Tuscan coast is only 1.5 to 2 hours away too, with access to the islands of Elba, Giglio and the coastal region of Maremma, all possible on a weekend.
