  Description

  Hi there, I’m Maja from Kisovec (Zagorje ob Savi), Slovenia. I am fascinated by the beauty and wisdom of nature. I am very keen on the simple, yet cozy countryside living, which includes gardening, working around the house, including stacking firewood for the winter, preparing freshly picked seasonal vegetables into delicious meals, baking bread, reading books, and walking my dog in the nearby forest. I love rock music and traveling (hiking) as well.
  There are always some new projects with my house or its surroundings on my mind, improving the current situation or simplifying things. This year I am deeply into rearranging the interior of my backyard cabin.

  You will be introduced to local Slovenian culture, our daily life and routines. You will experience the coziness of living in the log house, taking walks in the forests, tasting Slovenian food, enjoying our tradition of drinking freshly picked and prepared herbal teas… You will got an impression of our perception of life and our values.

  I would need volunteers' help with simple tasks such as stacking firewood for the winter (no more than 4 m3), rearranging the interior of my backyard cabin, and doing some gardening – tasks that are mostly done by hand.

  Hébergement

  Until the rearranging of the backyard cabin is finished, I offer a second room in my log house, which is where we live, which is lovely with a view of the valley and the night sky as well. There is a desk and wifi in the living room for those who need to work remotely. There is also a lovely garden at the back of the house.
  Later on, only the backyard cabin will be available with a shared bathroom and kitchen capacities in our log house (the second room in the house will no longer be available).
  Considering my work schedule, I only have the weekends for full days at the house, therefore I am asking our volunteers to be around on the weekends.
  Please kindly note, our dog Roxy is considered a family member therefore she is allowed to be all around the house.
  Please kindly note, smoking in the house or cabin is not allowed.
  I will provide you meals, free of charge for the duration of your stay for the exchange of your everyday help with the before-mentioned tasks.

  In the municipality of Zagorje, there are plenty of cultural and natural sights to discover, including hiking trails. In the town of Zagorje, there are some coffee shops and bars, a museum, and a cinema. There are good connections to the rest of the country via both train and bus. The house is 10 minutes from the main highway (Ljubljana - Celje - Maribor) or 10 minutes from Zagorje railway station, both connecting the rest of the country.
