  Description

  We are a couple living in qathet (Powell River) BC with two friendly, elderly large dogs. This is a small town surrounded by mountains, the ocean, lakes, and friendly people. We like mountaineering, trail running, swimming, biking, writing, learning to play music, and meeting new people. Where we live, you can walk to the ocean (10-15 mins), walk to a lake (10 mins), walk to a climbing gym, brew pub, and small grocery store.

  We have lots of books to borrow, stories to share, and would be happy to invite you on dog walks or runs or rides in the forest to learn about the local plants. We used to have volunteers from another platform when we had a small farm and we have had many bike touring travelers stay with us and people have always said it was a great experience and have remained in touch with us, some for many years.

  Aide

  Currently we are looking for help cleaning the house (vacuum, dust, bathrooms, mop), plant-based cooking (you do not need great skills, we can provide recipes, just want someone who'd like to learn), and ideally sharing language skills in a natural, conversational way. We want the house cleaned fully once a week, with a bit of light cleaning in between, as well as shopping for food, and cooking dinner Monday through Thursday. You would have a lot of free time to explore or relax.

  Hébergement

  We live in a house. The ideal situation would be one person, a couple, or two friends. You would have a large bedroom on the upper floor (can easily fit two beds if wanted) where there is also a bathroom just for your use. If you'd prefer, there is a second small bedroom on that floor that someone could sleep in. We all share the kitchen and living areas, and we provide internet. (If you are a group larger than two, you can also get in touch, we might be able to figure something out so we all fit.

  Lots of forests, friendly people, and incredible sunsets. It's a great place for photography, outdoor play, writing, and making art.
