  Description

  Greetings from the entire school community, which is located in the village of Melkys, on the outskirts of the Lithuanian capital.
  The birth story of this school and community is very interesting. A few families who did not want to send their children to a traditional school started their own school. It all started with 6 children, and now there are 111 children in school and kindergarten. It is wonderful to see the growth of this school and the involvement of the entire community in its development.
  The school is based on the following values: nobility, sincerity, courage, wisdom, compassion, respect, responsibility, independence, goal pursuit, creativity, ability to create in a team.
  The idea of ​​the school is based on the principle of cooperation, students are co-creators of the school and constantly learn to create and live together.
  Parents are also involved in the educational process. Once every six months, one of the child's parents participates in the run, as well as parents and grandparents are encouraged to interact in lessons, introduce a topic close to them, go on outings and hikes together.
  
  We try to convey knowledge in the language of the heart, help children to reveal their personal qualities, and encourage them to find their purpose. We focus children's attention on the image of a beautiful and good world.
  
  Our attitude towards human: human is a spiritual being. The concept of God is present in our lives as a Higher Principle, as a force of Love, as an all-encompassing system of which we are a part.
  
  Roots: family, kindred, nation - these are the roots that are important for a person to know in order to grow fully. It is important to know your country, language, traditions, like where you come from. At school, we follow the attitude that we are all alone in the world, that no nation is better or worse than another. Knowing the spiritual and cultural heritage of our nation strengthens us and provides a basis for our approach.
  A healthy lifestyle is important to us. Therefore, morning sports and swimming throughout the year, including in ice water, are our daily routine. The school has a vegetarian diet.
  The school is located near nature, surrounded by three ponds, forests and nearby Lake . Therefore, children often go on hikes together with their teachers.

  Workawayers would gain experience in building with natural materials, learn to clay, gain experience in creativity in building solutions, because we often try to look at our school buildings artistically and make creative decisions in matters of architecture and design. A workawayer who will work with food, will gain experience in cooking vegetarian dishes, will get to know more about Lithuanian products.

  Aide

  Since we are a growing school, every year we need a new building for the students, so construction takes place during the summer to be ready for the new school year. This summer will also be dedicated to expansion. Therefore, we are looking for 2-3 workawayers to help with building projects. As we are interested in natural building, experience with mud houses, hemp fiber and other support work is an advantage. But experience is not necessary. We are also looking for one worawayer to cook vegetarian food for the builders. Helping hours, up to 5 hours per day. Help needed from June 23 to August 15.
  Criminal record certificate, health insurance required. Alcohol, tobacco and other psychotropic substances are not tolerated in our school.

  Workawayers will live in the clay house. There is a kitchen, all the necessary dishes for food preparation, a dishwasher, a toilet, a shower, mattresses for sleeping on the second floor. Kindergarten children live in this house throughout the school year, so the house smells of coziness and warmth. One of the workawayers will take care of food preparation on weekdays.

  During their free time, workawayers can explore the forests, relax at the nearby Melkys and Karvys lakes, and there are several ponds on the school grounds. Since this village has an established community, various events are sometimes held in our village: pottery classes, dances, neurographics. Also, in the nearby village of Pikeliškės, there is a large homestead - Land of dragonflies, where wonderful events take place: sound sessions, cocoa rituals, ecstatic dances. There is a bus stop near the school, so you can go to the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. You will be able to get to know the wonderful old town of Vilnius and the city itself. Internet is available on the school territory, there is a stadium, sports equipment, volleyball. Indeed, during the summer the school is surrounded by wonderful nature.
