  Description

  We are a family of three. My name is Julia, I’m a single mom to 2 lovely (most of the time!) children aged 5 and 8. We live in Tomar, a town in central Portugal. We live in a beautiful land 4km from the town’s centre. My former partner and his mom also live in the same land so the children run around in between houses which is just perfect.
  Tomar is a small but vibrant town, in the summer there are many festivals around us, a river and an artificial lake not far from our house. In the winter the weather is quite mild and there are some cultural activities happening and irs also not far from Lisbon or Coimbra. It’s a town full of history and there are many nice sightseeing spots that you can explore.

  Tomar can be an exciting town with a university and many youngsters. There are plenty of festivals and markets happening. You’ll have the chance to live with a Portuguese family and also have time for yourself to explore the town. You can do sports, go to cafes, wander around Tomar’s beautiful castle. You’re more than welcome to come with me when I gather with my friends and we will probably have a blast!
  You’ll also get some knowledge in growing food and keeping animals. Being in contact with nature, swimming in the river, meeting new people and entrancing the Portuguese culture is somethinl we can definitely offer.

  Aide

  I’m about to embark a new experience and I’ll be away for a week/month working abroad.
  
  My children’s father is not always around and putting the care of 2 children in a 70 something year old woman sounds too much work so it would be nice to have someone to help out, especially during that week. You’ll be asked to take the children to school (15 min drive) and pick them up later.
  
  They also have activities in the afternoon (just one per day). And then just bring them home, dinner and sleep. As said before, their grandma is not far and they go there everyday. When I’m here, which will be the other 3 weeks of the month, you can help out by preparing dinner and sometimes take the children to some activities. As we live in the country side there’s also a lot of stuff to do if you feel like it. We have a vegetable garden, chickens and lambs. And you can do your own personal project if it adds something to our house/land/family or to your personal growth.
  
  Because I really need someone to drive the kiddos around it’s important that you have a driving license and because this implies that you take care of them a commitment of a minimum of 3 months will be required.

  Hébergement

  You’ll have a little wodden cabin separate from the main house just for your self. There’s a bathroom in the house but unfortunately there’s no space for a shower. We have an outside shower and another one jnside the house. You’re more than welcome to use anyone you’d like. You’ll have the meals with us in our house! We are vegetarian and wouldn’t like to have meat in our table and I hope you understand. We are never around at lunch time but you can use our kitchen to cook. If you wanna join us for breakfast you’re more than welcome, if not that’s also ok.

  Autres infos...

  The week that I’ll be away you’ll have my car to drive the children to school and their sports activities. When I’m here I’ll need the car to go to work and we don’t have another one. But there’s a bike you can use and there’s also a bus stop 1 min from our house. We live on the top of a hill so going to town is quite nice but returning home is usually the difficult part!
  The local hospital and supermarkets are also close to our house.
