Description
I am American with an old 19th century townhouse that's new to me. I love arts and cultures. My home is located in a small town about an hour southwest from Toulouse and 35 minutes north of St. Gaudens (by car) in southwestern France. The town has about 1600 of the friendliest people you could ever meet.
Charming towns surround mine and offer a chance to explore the sights, flavors and brocantes of the area. Day visits I recommend include Carcassonne, Albi, St. Gaudens, Samatan, Auch, and Simorre. And don't forget the Pyrénées Mountains!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

You'll be in France in one of the friendliest and most gorgeous areas of the country! I speak English and some French (A2 level, working on B1). You can practice French with me or the French people here. Weekly events are common in the area to enjoy - music, dinners, festivals, marchés, and vide-greniers.
Aide
I'm looking for part-time assistance with my petit jardin (garden, maybe 150 SF), digging, pulling out roots, and preparing for and laying a tiled or brick patio. Masonry experience preferred. If there's time, I would also like help prepping the living room by applying a layer of joint compound/mud to plaster walls.

I want to improve my French.Hébergement
I am aesthetically fixing up a solid stone/brick 19th century townhouse. Accommodations are simple but cozy. You'll have your own room with a comfortable double bed with an early twentieth century iron frame, antique wood furniture with marble tops and closet. We'll have to share the up-to-date bathroom. Bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor (one flight of steps). Large windows bring in sunshine, and the summers are very pleasant. Downstairs is a kitchen with new stove, refrigerator and microwave. I also have a washing machine and dryer you can use. You will have free room and board, and free utilities.
I do ask that you provide your own food/drink, but we can work together to share some dinners if desired. I am a non-smoker, and I need you to be as well. I prefer a female or a couple.Autres infos...
Available transport - buses run regularly to St. Gaudens (<1 hour) and Toulouse (<2 hours) with some interesting stops along the way. Uber is possible. You can rent a car easily from either St. Gaudens or Toulouse (Blagnac airport+).
There's an Intermarche (large grocery store), pharmacy, banks, doctors, dentists, etc. You can enjoy the town Église St. Adrien (14th century church), bars, restaurants, Saturday marché, and wonderful hiking and biking routes all over the Comminges region with rolling hills, sunflower fields, and quaint streams (see ).Informations complémentaires
