Description
We are creating a learning village for African-descended people to live sustainably from the land and work collectively towards relearning African cultural knowledges.
The farm is a 13 acre property with a beautiful little river and pond. There is lots of work to do, both physical and administrative and we're excited to welcome new workawayers to join us in the adventure.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
The farm is beautiful. It is healing and rejuvenating just to spend time there. Gardening also offers amazing emotional, mental and physical health benefits. In addition to that, there are opportunities to learn from the community members as we share African/Afrosporic cultural and historical knowledge etc. I am also a musician and there are opportunities to share and enjoy music and other creative activities together.
Aide
We are looking for people who are willing to help with transportation (driving participants), administrative tasks, handy work/renovations/building and gardening. Having experience in these areas is a big asset but not necessarily required. Accommodation is in your own private bedroom and camping is also an option. We are focused on building community for/with people of African descent, but we are open to people of all backgrounds, as long as they are anti-oppressive/anti-colonial and supportive of African/Black peoples and our work towards healing and liberation.
Gardening, handywork/building, driving, organizing, management and fundraising for the project are the main areas where we need support.Langues

For accommodation we have extra bedrooms in the house and we also have a tent for those who like camping. Workawayers are encouraged to bring their own sleeping bags and bedding if possible.
Autres infos...
Southern Ontario is beautiful, with lots of lakes and parks for swimming and hiking. There are local Indigenous cultural sites to visit and learn from, and Toronto, with its endless festivals and events, is only 1.5 hours away from the farm.
