Onn, I’m very happy to be able to do a 11month sabbatical from July 2023 to June 2024.
I hope to make new experiences, meet new people, exchange culture and knowledge.
I am a positive, curious, open-minded, easy going, joyful and calm person.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I often exercice to maintain a physical health, I love to swim in the lake and go hiking. I also like to cook, bake, read and listen to music.
During our stay, I can help with general tasks that come with running a house or a guesthouse, take care of the animals at a farm-stay, grow vegetables at a permaculture-garden, and so Onn :-)
I, Antoine, completed an apprenticeship in Switzerland as a draftsman/architect. I then worked in various factories like Nestlé, Nexans, ...
I can use my brain as well as my hands ;-)
In 2000, I moved with my family (wife and 2 kids) in Laos. I worked in 5 hospitals as a building manager, architect, engineer, plumber and so on, for 5 years. Then South Africa for a year doing maintenance in a school, and Thailand for more than 3 years, as a teacher (math and French), and foster parent.
Quick learner, eager, I like to experiment and acquire new skills.Age
50 & 51
What else ...
We love sports like swimming, tennis, badminton, volleyball, hiking, and Antoine used to skiing a lot when he was a child.
We do not play an instrument.
We like pets and animals.
We love to spend time in the nature, get lost in huge cities. We also like to dance. Antoine love a good glass of wine with some Gruyère or some goat cheese, he is a honey addict and probably Nutella too.
We like to laugh, spend good times with friends as well as being dedicated in finding satisfaction in a job well done. As a well balanced couple we like to help and learn. Some more information

My wife and I stayed for 3 weeks in January. This hostel is one of a kind and we enjoyed it.
Friendly and very generous hosts, nice atmosphere, and the work was chill as we did hit the low season.
We shared this beautiful experience with 2 other workawayers.

It was the best summer in many years and really hot. However Antoine and Onn were working hard.
First they removed all the weed from our growing potatoes and carrots, then they cleaned a big area of building waste.
They even burnt the wood piece by piece in the… read more
It's been a great summer for our first workaway experience. There is no shortage of work and our host has plenty of dreams and ideas for transforming and renovating the buildings on his estate. Hard work, in the open air, with the advantage of never having felt pressure in the expectations from our host and results… read more
