Welcome to my profile!
I studied humanities at the university for three years. After that, I decided to go traveling, and first spent nine months in the Middle East and North Africa, and the next year continued by train and ferry through Siberia to Japan. In total I have been traveling for around three years, and been doing volunteering for around two years.
I have worked in different fields - such as with handicapped and elderly, on farms and in construction, in hostels and restaurants, communities, festivals and retreat centres.

Lived and worked on a small farm in Denmark. Milked the cows by hand, worked in the vegetable garden.
Worked in elderly care in Sweden and Denmark, mainly with cleaning and preparing food.
Worked with autistic persons, young and old, in Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
Simple and creative construction with wood and laying a pavement in Germany, Austria and Nepal.
Worked with horses and other animals in Germany.
Worked in hostels and course centres in Estonia and Belgium.
General garden work in Sweden, France, Germany and Switzerland.
Have spent extended periods in silent retreats, and enjoy my own company.

Elias war leider nur 2 Wochen bei uns, während wir selbst als Volunteers unterwegs waren hat er sich um unsere Islandpferde, Schafe, Hühner, Hunde und Katzen gekümmert:
Er sieht auch mal die Arbeit von alleine und ist ein sehr angenehmer Zeitgenosse.

I had a great time as a workawayer by Meike and Chris and all the happy animals. Both are very warm hearted and direct, so it was easy to feel comfortable and at home.

Elias was a very thoughtful and easy-going guest. Although the stay was quite short, we got along very well and had deep talks, a lot of fun and moments of silence. He fulfilled the tasks in a reliable way. We would definitely recommend him as a helping hand :)

I had a great time volunteering with Nicole. She is a very friendly and communicative host, with great humor. She also helped me learning French during my stay. The food was delicious, and the work tasks nice (different gardening things and around the house). Very much recommend this host!

First things first: Amazing place!
I spent 3-4 months as a volunteer here, and really every day was an adventure in itself.
The colleagues and guests were all very nice, curious and interesting people, and I have so many good memories with them.

I arrived in the beginning of the year, in the middle of a freezing January and a lockdown - but despite that the time in Valmiera was really nice!
Baiba is a very welcoming and good host, always with a positive attitude. We were also seven volunteers from six different countries, so there was no lack of social life at the place.
Recommended!
