So... What brings me happiness? I always start off filling in these type of forms so enthusiastically and then BAM! Floored with an existential crises at the first hurdle.
I suppose this isn't really the forum for a philosophical discussion on the nature of happiness though so about me:
For the last four years i have been an aerospace engineer working in Cambridge and before that i was an airframe fitter (a mechanic for planes) for three years.
Before all that i didn't have a clear direction and so worked a wide variety of jobs including landscape gardening, factory/warehouse work, waiting tables, cleaning, cashier, kitchen porter, HVAC commissioning, labouring, car park attending, in-ground trampoline installer, marquee erector and airport security.
Although these jobs were less glamorous they gave me a lot more free time to travel the world and go on adventures with my friends. I also strangely enjoyed not knowing what was around the next corner or what life might throw at me.
Having tried both lifestyles, a free spirit digging holes for beer money & working on multi-million $ military equipment (never weapons) I've come to the conclusion that i had a lot more interesting experiences in the former.
I didn't really dislike my job as an engineer, it's more that i believe you only get one shot at life and i want to fill it with as much variety and content as possible; as at the end of the day i don't think life is about the person you tell people you are, its the things you have done and the stories you can tell.Interests

I would be very interested in trying to teach English abroad as i have always been curious about becoming a physics/maths teacher and i think this would be a great way to get some experience of what being on the other side of the classroom is like. When it comes to learning a language i would like to learn as much of as many as possible. However, being English i have made as much progress thus far as you would expect.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

What else ...
I like hiking and anything really that gets you out in nature. I also love cycling, motorbikes and climbing.
I enjoy Books, TV and films; but more so talking about how people interpret them and sharing recommendations.
I love philosophy, history and politics and the long and ultimately pointless conversations that come with them. Although i can take or leave politics for the most part these days.
Additionally, I'm also really good at knitting. I was going to add this as a skill but as i cant imagine a setting where it will have any practical application I'll stick it here. Some more information
