Hello!

I am a new member of workaway! I love to learn new skills, gaining new experiences and I love to meet new people from around the world who I would never normally cross paths!

I moved to Japan in January 2023 and I am currently learning Japanese in a language school until July and after that plan to travel and work throughout Japan.

I am from the UK, where I work as a nurse in the National Health Service and learnt Japanese in my spare time. I decided to use the Japanese working holiday visa to come to Japan so that I could better learn the language, live in a new country, travel and experience a different culture!

With my profession I am experienced working in a team within fast-paced environments and the responsibility of looking after people. During university I worked as a waitress, so I have experience working in hospitality. I also have experience in child care, and regularly volunteered for a Saturday school program for children with learning disabilities.

As far as my interests go, I love outdoor sports. I have been hiking since I was young and enjoy being in nature. I like swimming and running and currently training for the Tokyo half marathon in October. When I'm not doing one of these activities, I enjoy reading and craft activities like embroidery.

Currently I am in Japan, living in Tokyo to learn Japanese for 6 months.

- I am a nurse in the UK and have worked in the National Health Service for the last 3 years, so I am used to working long hours and in fast paced environments.
- I am fully certified for CPR.
- I can drive and hold a UK drivers license.
- I am educated to university level and a quick learner.
- I am practical, can cook, clean and help with activities like decorating and gardening. My DIY skills are limited but my learning mentality very eager!!
- During university I worked as a waitress in a bar, greeting customers, taking orders and serving drinks.
- I have previously taught English via 1:1 tutoring and assisted with group conversation classes.
- Currently read books with the 6 year old son of the owner of my share house once a week to help improve his english reading skills!
- Beginner level Japanese! In July I will have studied at a language school in Tokyo for 6 months.

I like outdoor activities such as skiing/ snowboarding, swimming, rock climbing and hiking. I would like to visit some of Japan's national parks to camp while I am here.

I love cooking delicious food and sharing food from different countries.

I enjoy craft activities, and have been embroidering for a few years now.
