Thank you Cristina for this amazing experience! I'm so grateful to have been a part of the pilot program, and to have met Cristina and see how she shares her passion amd knowledge for the marine environment with the community. She was an amazing host, making everyone feel welcome and making sure we had everything we needed in our little home for the 2 week project. It was truly inspirational to see how hard working and passionate she is about the environment, and how she has taken this passion and is sharing it with the community to evoke meaningful and lasting change. She's also a great teaxher to help improve your Italian, being able to adjust and support everyone depending on their level of Italian in ea very kind and supportive way. I miss the the food, games, adventures, and above all the laughter from this experience, and I hope to come back to help with another project with Cristina again in the future! Maria fernanda que j'ai reçue pendant 4 semaines a toutes les qualités. Elle est ponctuelle, discrète, s'adapte parfaitement à toutes les situations, est toujours volontaire pour participer à toutes les activités avec bonne humeur. En plus du jardinage et du nettoyage de la maison, elle a aussi aimé cuisiner et préparer des recettes mexicaines, elle est passionnée par la réalisation de pain au levain. Chez moi elle était curieuse de ce qu'elle découvrait et aimait faire découvrir sa propre culture. Je pourrais ainsi continuer à décliner ses qualités, mais ça finirait par paraître suspect. Chanceux les prochains hôtes qui la recevront.

A great looking woman with a great bi's heart always smiled and always laught at my jokes. Communication at times was a problem but we seemed to come to a understand with no difficulty. This woman cleaned and cleaned again. My boat has never been so clean. She does a great job with cleaning. Her cooking was the best. I have put on a few kilograms with her fabulous cooking. Her skill level with maintenence is limited but boat work is very different to other work. She tried her best to do small jobs. If you are after a great cook and a fussy cleaner then Lina is a good choice.

Fiona and Marina are wonderful young women. I made the best choice in hosting them, and would happily do so again. They followed instructions with curiosity and took the work seriously while still experiencing the joyful nature of working outside in rain, sun, rainbows and wind. Future hosts, you can feel comfortable with these ladies in your home and feel the lightness as they lessen the load of every day tasks.

Staying with Henda, Martin, and Hanlee was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like part of the family. We learned so much about the simple joys of cooking and daily life, which was truly eye-opening. Our mornings started beautifully on the yoga deck, providing an amazing and peaceful way to begin each day. We also had the pleasure of helping Martin with various projects around the property, including gardening, clearing, cladding their home, and even building a bridge. Martin is incredibly knowledgeable and a fantastic teacher. We gained so many valuable skills under his guidance. We loved the animals, including the chickens, cats (Summer looking at you), and especially Zoe. The location in the valley is breathtaking, offering endless hiking opportunities and a lovely dam just a 25 minute walk away. We also loved all of Henda’s sightseeing recommendations, which helped us fully appreciate the beauty of the area. The accommodation was perfect, with a homely campervan and an outdoor kitchen and shower. And we can't forget to mention the amazing cooking, every meal was a treat and was simply the best. Thank you, Henda, Martin, and Hanlee, for making our three weeks with you such a grounding and enriching experience. We left with wonderful memories, new skills, and a deep appreciation for your hospitality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable Workaway stay!

Me encantó mi estancia , todo el staff es muy agradable y abierto y la gente viene de toda parte del mundo ! El hostel es muy lindo, grande y muy social, es fácil hacer muchos lindos encuentros ! El trabajo es muy fácil, puedes ser el aseo o la recepción, y los horarios son los mejores que vi en un hostel, los numerosos días libres te permite de hacer muchas cosas a fuera, de visitar la ciudad y sus alrededores. Además hay muchas ventajas trabajar : la localización del hostel en el centro de Valpo, el desayuno incluido cada mañana (el mejor desayuno que probé en hostel) y una parte de tus compras cubiertas por el hostel ! Gracias a todos por las increíbles 5 semanas que viví en Valpo <3

Kaat joined us for what was initially planned as a one-week stay but ended up extending her stay to two weeks until her flight back home. I wish she could have stayed longer, as she felt like a little sister to me, and I loved having her around. She helped with a wide range of tasks, including landscaping, DIY projects, animal care, mud construction, and setting up outdoor sitting areas for our guests. Kaat demonstrated a proactive and helpful attitude, and her positive energy was contagious. What I appreciated most about her was her ability to quickly grasp what needed to be done and work either independently or in a group. With her, we could make our generational gap an enjoyable aspect of our interactions, and we had a great time together. Saying goodbye was hard for everyone, and we hope to see her again in the near future. I wholeheartedly recommend Kaat to anyone seeking an artistic, hardworking, enthusiastic and respectful volunteer. She would be an invaluable asset to any team.

Mark was an exceptional volunteer, as he was the very first to take on the responsibility of preparing the grains and feeding the chickens, a task we trusted him with completely throughout his stay. Mark's contributions extended far beyond this; he was incredibly helpful with a variety of tasks including planting, weeding, harvesting, cleaning, mud construction, and photography. He was fully immersed in farm life and always eager to assist in any way he could. What made his stay with us even more special is the fact that he genuinely allowed me to use his phone for almost two weeks as mine was broken, and when I had a new one, he took the initiative to set it up and make sure I had all my data back. I personally enjoyed our long conversations, night walks, and his company in general. It felt like he was meant for this lifestyle, and I can easily see myself trusting him with the farm while I’m not here. Hence, I highly recommend Mark to anyone seeking a trustworthy, hardworking, kind, observant, and culturally respectful volunteer.

I had a great experience living a month 🥰 The place is beautiful in the middle of nature, people are friendly, the tasks nice and easy and there's a lot of nice things to do in the freetime. I learned a lot about community living, buddism and myself. I really appreciate the whole project of the centre and enjoyed meeting all the lovely people. Thank you! 🫶✨️

Maja and Christian are so nice people. It was first time for me to do Workaway, but I made wonderful memories thanks to them:) They gave me a lot of chances to meet nice people in Switzerland and took me breathtaking places. I'm sure you can learn the life in switzerland from them. I also enjoyed their dishes! they are nice cook. Thank you for great memories

I initially stayed with Christine for a week and came back for another month and a half. Ahh it was an amazing experience! The dogs are so sweet and Christine looked after me so well. After a few days of getting used to the routine, I settled in. I'm very comfortable with dogs from previous experience so that helped. I learned alot about different conditions and doggy health. I really enjoyed my time off in Arambol and it's right next to the beach so you can swim every day if you like. Christine also took me to see some places around the area. I loved every evening walking the dogs on the beach! I'll be going back in a few weeks to see them all again. If you're up for working hard, you enjoy the beach and unconditional dog love, then this is the place for you!

I went to Sicily in search of a simple rural life; as a keen plantsman to get my hands into the soil. And through my time with Carlo & Jessie I not only found it . . . but so very much more! Staying and working with this couple, who hold the most admirable and grounded views of the values and preciousness of life, you become part of a community . . . a family! Together with their two adorable children, and collective of animals, a family is just what they are . . . and they offer the generosity of inclusivity. Of course, you are there to work, and there are occasions when the inner family need their privacy. But Jessie & Carlo are always mindful of circumstances. For example should working hours (5 per day Mon-Fri) run over, as can happen when welcoming paying guests to the farm, there is compensation on future occasions. But, let's also get this into prospective, in these circumstances you are an active part of guest activity; harvesting produce, preparing food, socialising, and ultimately, sitting down to enjoy a fabulous feast with lashings of Sicilian tradition. It's an absolute joy! The environment of the farm is remarkable, beautiful in itself, whilst holding multilayers of human habitation and activity. I found it humbling to be gardening in a place where people have been working the soil for over 2,000 years. They have left both physical presence in stone, and I believe, an encompassing spiritual aura. I instantly felt at home in the garden, and within my mind will walk the route leading down from the farmhouse, for many years to come. After spending a month in this magical place, with such exceptional people, I was only just beginning. And there is no questioning my return. Besides, I have a promise to keep, at the next feast I attend, I will sing a song!

The experience that my partner and I had with Charlotte, David and Henry was very nice. Both are people with a lot of knowledge to offer and very interesting people where we were able to share moments of music together and talks. Even Charlotte is a very enthusiastic person with music, with whom we had opportunities to exchange instruments and music and we even wanted to share more music together, since there have not been many of those moments, but it is also normal that in the past That's because being parents and working at the same time makes it difficult to find a moment for that, but the moments that we have exchanged music were beautiful and we keep them as a beautiful memory❤️🥰. Also something that I liked about this workaway is that they are a very friendly family, we had the opportunity to share time with David and Charlotte's parents, who are very loving and warm people and who made us feel very welcome and treated us like family. Also the experience with Henry was beautiful for us and a lot of learning, since for us all that was something new and at the same time the beautiful thing about this experience is that Henry is a happy child who gains confidence quickly and makes himself loved easily, So it was very nice to share time with him😍. Therefore, I recommend doing workaway with them and having the experience of sharing time with this beautiful and friendly family🫶🏼🌻.

Estoy muy agradecida por la experiencia de haber tenido Pedro de voluntariado. Su enfoque el todo de lo que él hace es muy admirable y muy inspirador. Su tranquilidad afecta al ambiente del hogar en maneras muy positivas. Su arte es bastante refinada y impactante. Pedro tiene ideas muy buenos que compartir para ayudar avanzar a muchos diferentes proyectos. Él ha expresado mucho interés en la permacultura y bosques comestibles. Recomiendo a Pedro a cual quier proyecto. Nos dejó con un muralcito muy bonito en la escuela pública. También, Pedro me hizo un vivero de papayo antes de irse. Su música también es un deleite. En todo, Pedro tiene mucho que compartir, pues, él comprende mucho de la vida ya.

To any Workawayers reading this: you won't regret messaging Michał & Magda. First of all, they won't keep you waiting for a return text (very important to me personally!). At their wonderful old-fashioned home in Pałowo, you will be extended the warmest hospitality and supported every step of the way. Honestly, just meeting the cat Matka alone already makes the experience more than worth it–she is literally the most cuddly animal I've ever encountered! The work is fair and reasonable, with a relaxed approach–just how it should be with Workaway. During your stay, you will have ample opportunity to ride a bike to the sea or around the area, and there is a lot to discover. You might even see a play in the puppet theater, I'm thankful to the Magda and Michał for introducing me to that world. Basically, just go ahead and message them, you'll see for yourself!

Elli & Leo have been a super sweet and hard working team.. we wanted them to stay forever!! They've helped us loads with the clay-plastering and white calking of the exterior walls of the farm. They were so sweet to our children and great in holding baby isabel when needed. It was also great to see how you two are independent, flexible and connecting to our friend Sam. We hope to see you once again in the near future!

Dominik travelled to my place in Mackay in Central Queensland Coast in Australia and stayed a couple of weeks. I was hugely grateful for the support that Dominik gave to me. Dominik is a super well organised and hard-working person. The work that was done was always of an excellent standard: gardening and housekeeping duties mainly. We enjoyed many lovely conversations together. It was truly a lovely experience to meet Dominik and spend time together. Dominik is has a great sense of humour and we lots of fun exploring Mackay together. I highly recommend Dominik to other hosts as someone who takes the utmost care with their work. Staying at this farm was a wonderful experience for me. I learned many new things. And most importantly, I never felt alone.

Florence and Gabriel are some of the loveliest people you will meet, they are so welcoming and you can really tell they care about their community and family. I stayed there for two weeks, mostly doing construction work on their house and helping them raise funds for the roof of their new volunteer building. The work was really rewarding and they used as much as they can get from their environment (stones and sand from around their house and the beach). I think the work varies quite a lot depending on when you come and what stage of the project they're at so if you are picky then ask them what work you will be doing beforehand. Florence's cooking is amazing and even though it took a while for me to get used to the Kenyan food, I loved it by the end and got real authentic food! The one downside was that I got a little bit lonely as I was the only volunteer and don't speak Luo but that was a minor point and hopefully they'll have their bigger volunteer house ready soon so they can have lots more volunteers.
