Our overall experience with Ebba was excellent and it was a pleasure to host her and we appreciated her hard working attitude, strength and skills. Ebba fitted in well with our olive picking team despite feeling a bit poorly on her arrival. By the time Ebba left she was really getting into the swing of farm life and enjoying the harvesting routine although the weather was patchy. Thank you Ebba and we look forward to hosting you again ion the future.

amazing place!! one of my best volunteering experiences❤️❤️ i met soo many wonderful people, and the ambient is very relaxing, and things are very organized (and clean :)). the place is also located in such an idyllic place. I helped in the garden three hours a day, four days a week, which was a great way to get to know the other volunteers and learn about agriculture from the super enthusiastich workers there. Thankyou so much for this experience, i will remember forever!

Seb is a very smart, handy guy who has loads of skills. He can work independently on a range of tasks like building, gardening, landscaping and even childcare! He built a wall, fixed our car, tended our gardens, dug ditches, pruned trees and heaps more. He can improvise on the fly and is not afraid of hard work. Thank you for all your hard work Seb, it was a pleasure hosting you!

WOW! This was our first workaway experience and it was incredible, topnotch and far exceeded our expectations. Tim and Dottie are both incredibly kind, generous, loving, patient, fun and welcoming individuals and such a wonderful couple who both have a great sense of humor. What a joy and honor it was getting to know them and work alongside them on their beautiful property on the big Island. They not only invited us into their home, but their lives, family (including 2 previous workawayers who are now living nearby them.....Koby & Alayna) and church community. We were treated so well and welcomed into their family from day 1. We thoroughly enjoyed spending a lot of time getting to know and love all of them including Casey, Carrie, Katie and Chris! Dottie and Time were also so patient and informative as they shared their knowledge about plants, animal care & Hawaiian culture. They enjoyed teaching us new things yet were always ready to listen and just spend time talking. Brooke especially loved her time in the gardens with Dottie learning about the plants, vegetation, bees, and Monarch butterflies. She also loved time with Tim as he taught her new things and how to use many power tools. Our work was fun, diverse and challenging but always so rewarding. No matter what job, big or small, they both were always so appreciative of and grateful for our efforts. The accommodations were also amazing, as we had our own space & small apartment where we could unwind and enjoy the beauty of their property or could easily join them upstairs on one of the lanai spaces and "talk story" or play the dice game of "farkle". Their generosity of providing a car was such a blessing that allowed us to come/go when we wanted to shop or explore the many amazing places on the island. And Tim was such a wonderful tour guide as he took us to Volcano National Park TWO times to view the volcano and hike as he shared his knowledge of the history and heritage of the island. The special alone time with Katie was also a highlight of our trip and Brooke and she will be friends forever. This is a special couple with a special family who we feel so blessed to have been able to know and love. Thank you so much for the way you love and care for others. We look forward to seeing you in the future! Much love, hugs and prayers sent your way! THANK YOU for an incredible month!

I had the best time with Susan and Mike, so much so that I ended up staying for longer than intended! They're both so nice, warm and patient in giving the right level of work for the skills you have, or teach you what needs to be done in detail. They're also very skilled at scrabble, so be prepared to bring your A game! The property is amazing and so close to Melbourne on the train (thanks to Mike who dropped me to the station many times). They made sure I never went hungry and the food they gave me was so delicious. Their pet animals were all adorable, not to mention the wallabies, wombats and the occasional deer you might see during your stay!

Margot is a wonderful girl, full of energy, always happy and smiling, ready to help at any time, and curious about people, their way of life, and the places she discovers. She's SUPER!!!!

Clara & Eric were great Workawayers and we enjoyed their company and their help for the few days they were with us. They did all that was asked of them and more. We’d be happy to have them back in 2026 if they return north again.

I spent roughly a month and a half here and had the most amazing time. Working and living with the dogs and the cats was an incredible experience. The work was mostly walking the dogs, feeding the animals, cleaning their areas, and some gardening such as weeding. The work was supervised by Iris who explained everything clearly. I also got the opportunity to help with construction work which taught me a lot of things such as how to use many tools. If you are an animal lover this is the perfect place for you. I got so attached to some of the dogs that it became quite hard to leave. I more than doubled my original stay. Iris and Christos put their animals at the center of their lives and you can rest assured that all of their animals are amazingly well taken care of. In addition to this, I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the place. Everybody was really nice. I had a lot of fun with Iris, Christos and all the other workawayers that I had the privilege to meet. Christos would take us on outings such as hikes or visiting ancient ruins. He would also regularly prepare delicious barbecues. On Sundays we all went to the market and enjoyed a nice chat over coffee and food. The place is surrounded by nature which is perfect if you enjoy walking or running. You can enjoy the scenery which consists of nice hills and many olive trees. But it is also close to a well connected (by bus) small village where you can find stores and a pharmacy. The acommodation was really comfortable and we were provided with all the necessary ingredients to cook our food. Staying here was an amazing experience that felt very fulfilling. I got to learn so much about animals, to develop deep bonds with the dogs and to develop friendships with the other workawayers as well as with Iris and Christos. I can't wait to come back and see how everybody is doing !

If you want good company and someone who works with heart, you have to meet Michéle. She arrived knowing very little about permaculture or regenerative agriculture and left knowing so much that she filled me with hope. From the moment she heard me talk about compost toilets and regenerative agriculture, she showed a beautiful interest, asked me so many questions, and we had so many deep conversations that I could see this path truly resonated with her. And also she cared about the project that was very easy to trust her with my home and the dogs. She is a magical woman that i am so glad i had the opportunity to meet. Siempre tendrás una casa acá en el rancho, un abrazo y mucho éxito en todo lo que se venga

Isa and Jon are super generous hosts; it's a shame we only got to spend a week together, but it was a lovely week all the same! I really enjoyed looking after the whole crew of dogs - Argi, Sylvi, Milo, and Kai (no favourites!). This involved brushing them, taking them on 2 of their 4 daily walks, making sure the water bowls were full, everyone was getting along, and the house was clean. The dogs are so smart and well trained even in the streets - it was a pleasure to hang out with them and I miss them already. Since they are used to having guests often, Isa and Jon are just absolutely lovely hosts. They shared advice, made a lot of time in their day for me, lent me a train card, and cooked delicious vegetarian food despite giving me an advance warning. Thank you to Samy as well for the fun company, especially the evening we decorated the Christmas tree. I also feel really grateful that I had some time to explore (including the unmissable Guggenheim museum) and we had a fantastic day together braving the steep steps to the fortress at the coast nearby. From their house there's a decent run to a scenic hilltop viewpoint, and you can continue this way to walk a route into the city. Otherwise its super quick with the train :) It's an awesome place to stay and I learned a lot about Basque culture, as well as some Dominican and Colombian music. Next time, we've got to go out dancing! Wishing you very very happy holidays and safe upcoming travels x

Mariam, Jono, Monty & Anna are a fantastic host family. Their château is extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming, especially as some of Monty’s friends were also visiting during my stay, along with another pair of Workawayers - this meant there were even more fun, lovely people to chat with (and loadsss of baking). I really appreciated that Mariam took us to see everything worth our time in the local area; birdspotting was super special, the churches and crypt are a wonder to see, the Roman amphitheatre and fortress village are a delight for history nerds, and the maritime town and Île d'Oléron beach had such special charm. Mariam and Jono's standard of hospitality is through the roof, since they go out of their way to make sure everyone has enough to eat and is never bored, letting us join for tea or a meal with their friends, and giving us the right gear for the work. I found it really fun to feed the sheep and learn more about the realities of caring for animals. Other tasks involved gardening, dismantling the chicken house, fixing the fence posts, baking, tidying, and shelling beans. Everyone was easy to get along with and the mealtime chat was often lively. The château is a place which brings many people from the local community together, as there are often neighbours or workers visiting, as well as other friends and customers for the farm shop. Their family is well-travelled and multi-cultural and they all embrace this. It was certainly an advantage to speak/understand some German and French, although I wish I had a better handle on these languages. This place is buzzing with creativity and joy! It's the perfect space to relax, too. I loved puzzling over the crossword and savouring long breakfasts with bakery treats. Making Christmas cards was another highlight; it felt like a little art retreat, with soft music and wonderful baking smells drifting from the kitchen. Just wonderful! I see why some Workawayers choose to stay for many months, as once you’re settled in here it feels like a shame to leave. It would be a great place to enjoy the garden and pool in summer, and I hope to come back to see how the sheep, oxen and chickens are doing. Have a wonderful holiday season and best wishes xx

I feel very lucky that I got to learn so much from spending a few days helping Fabienne in her impressive garden. Fabienne & Claude lead quite a peaceful life and spend lots of time reading, but are super happy to have guests - they adjusted to my transport schedules and even bought special food hoping I would like it. Fabienne is super super lovely. She makes delicious soups, jams and compotes and is a whiz at using the fresh ingredients she's grown. It must be paradise in summertime. She really took care that I was doing tasks I enjoyed, and the work was very fair in terms of hours and breaks. We had a great time braving the white frosty mornings (it was November, after all)! After the first day of work in the garden, she even suggested I borrow her bike for a ride to explore the local area. So kind! I wish we could've talked more, if only I had better mastery of French and German. I also wish my language skills were better so I could've read from their walls of books in my free time. The major highlight is the garden space and Fabienne's breadth of knowledge, but another thing I really appreciated was joining Fabienne and her friends at a cute little community Christmas market. Merci pour tout :)

Wonderful experience with Eliza. She's a lovely person, beautiful soul and very delightful host. She invited me to many places and made me discover the region. Her property is huge and her house quite historical. Very close to Lons-le-Saunier that is the main town around. Hope I will come back someday to help her again as I had a very good time there.

Daniela was a real pleasure to host and work with. She is a very positive person—calm, reliable, and easy to be around—which made a big difference in our small, hands-on environment. During her stay, she helped us prepare the orchard for the winter, taking on a range of seasonal tasks with care and attention. She also played an important role in helping us set up for our Christmas markets, where her energy and willingness to help wherever needed were especially appreciated. She picked things up quickly, followed instructions well, and could be trusted to work independently once shown what needed to be done. Beyond the work itself, Daniela was respectful of our space, communicated clearly, and fit in naturally with our daily routine. We truly appreciated both her help and her positive presence, and we would happily welcome her back. We can confidently recommend Daniela to other hosts looking for a responsible, hardworking, and genuinely pleasant person.

I couldn't have been happier with my time at the farm of Elena, Edelemo and Alexis. They have welcomed me into their house as one of their own. The work is not easy but it is well worth it. The place itself is amazingly beautiful but most of all is living with Edelemo, Elena and Duque. The stories, food and good time spent together having mate or simply watching television are truly something incredible and that will stay with me forever. Note: be sure to have a decent Spanish before coming. It'll make everyone's time easier and better :)

Super interesting project at Taner's place, the house building and the techniques used are really inspiring. Taner is super friendly and available to share his knowledge about construction, plants and cooking. The location is very quiet and ressourcing. We helped with several things, we planted trees, harvested the olives trees and helped building of the bathroom. We went climbing together at the beach on our day off too. Really nice to meet you, come visit us when we start building our own house 😄

Géza spent about a month with our family. He is an extremely friendly, easy-going and very helpful person. His presence and calm manner were always very pleasant, and he easily fitted into our everyday life. Our children quickly became very familiar and attached to Géza and loved playing and spending time with him. He got up early every morning to prepare breakfast for the children, ate with them and tidied up afterwards. He was a great help in getting the day started. He often spent the morning with our two younger boys while our eldest went to kindergarten. Géza also looked after our children on his own for short periods and always took great responsibility for them. The children enjoyed building Lego, railways and other things with Géza. It is worth mentioning that he worked with our eldest son on the computer to create building instructions for their own Lego creations, which our son still fondly remembers today. Géza helped with everything we needed help with in our household, such as cooking, laundry or vacuuming. Géza also took a liking to our cats, looking after them and caring for them. We can highly recommend Géza personally, as well as his helpful assistance, and would be very happy to welcome him back to our home anytime.

staying with Alessio and Angelica is an amazing experience they are a great family very welcoming and willing to share many cool things here in the local area especially delicious food and meeting local people! I've had only good times being here the beach is so close by I was swimming daily and Alessio was cool enough to let me use his canoe to go exploring the coast which I loved very much... there isn't anything bad to say about being here the work can be challenging but we always work as a team which makes it very easy to deal with,as for the accommodation it's brilliant your own apartment fully equipped with a kitchen bathroom etc the kitchen always fully stocked with food to make at any time as well as sharing lots of lunches together with Alessio and his family. overall my experience at Alessio place has been 10/10 there is much more amazing things I can list about being here, sharing time with other workawayers has been cool also and having many camp fires enjoying a glass of wine & barbiquing food I could go on and on.... thank you very much Alessio and Angelica for your brilliant hosting I genuinely see you guys as friends!! & I'm sure I'll return many times.

Ich vermisse euch. Ich hoffe, wieder in Österreich zurückzukommen. I stayed with Marie and her dogs Punto & Jinglebella for two months. I think Marie is a very beautiful and kind woman. I did a few chores, for example: I sometimes cleaned the house and garden, helped with cooking and washing up, and walked the dogs. I sometimes went for walks in beautiful places. I got to know Marie's neighbours. Marie and I went to other places together. I am sad that I was unable to realise my dream of finding work and living there. The Tyrolean milk, cheese, etc. were very nice and tasty. I always listen to Radio Tirol1 and watch the joyn.at website. I recommend this family to you. Marie needs a real helper. Dear Marie and your family, thank you for the invitation. I miss you. I hope to come back to Austria again.
