Much love for this family ❤️❤️❤️! I stayed with Laura, Paolo, and the kids for the month of August, and I truly enjoyed every second of my time with them. They are very social, open-minded, and communicative people who will welcome you as a family member, making you feel appreciated and cared for 🫶. At least, that’s how I felt :)) Diana and Perla are absolutely wonderful little girls. We got along from the very first moment, and by the end I felt like I had built a very special relationship with both of them—even though I sadly only stayed for a few weeks . I still think about them and miss them a lot 💖. The same goes for Laura and Paolo, who created an environment where I felt safe and welcomed. They are just really cool people. My "duties" included taking Penny (the cutest dog in the world ✨) for a walk every morning and evening in the park right in front of the house. Then I played with Perla for around 5 hours each day. I really appreciated that Laura always paid attention to balancing the workload—for example, if one day was longer, the next would be shorter . I always felt like we were working as a team and that she had my best interests in mind, just as I did hers. You don’t need to worry about what to do with the girls, because Viareggio is a wonderful place 🌊🌞 with lots of activities for children. Of course, there’s the beach , and in the summertime the park is full of rides and attractions —we went there often. Other things I did included cleaning the kitchen after meals, vacuuming occasionally, and sweeping the patio. It’s really not too much, since your main responsibility is, of course, spending time with Perla 💕. After that, it’s your free time—you can enjoy the beach, grab a coffee or ice cream , explore the city , etc. I always felt I had plenty of time for myself 🙂. If you’re thinking about staying with Laura and Paolo, I can only recommend it 🌟! To make the most out of the experience, you should definitely be a proactive person . Everyday life with two young children can be a little chaotic at times—no matter how adorable they are 😅. There will be moments when you need to think for yourself, for example: what to make for lunch, how to handle a crying child, whether the floor needs a quick vacuum, if you can give Laura a hand with something etc. It’s really about helping each other out. Laura and Paolo can offer a truly unique and amazing Italian experience, if you are open to it :). @Laura and Paolo, when you read this: THANK YOU SO MUCH for this experience 🙏💖! Mattieu was a joy to host, he is a very kind and respectful young man. He is an excellent communicator and got on very well with my dog Gilli. He was very helpful in the kitchen and compleeting house chores in addition to work in the garden. I would gladly recommend him to other hosts.

Thanks Jose! Even though your time with us was short it was super nice to host you :) Jose is an easy going, calm mannered and likeable person. Jess was a really lovely, easy going workawayer to host :) she's one of those people who just have the ability to put those around her at ease and is a really great listener! It was nice to have this as often we feel the need to put others at ease but Jess just is already! She was super helpful and did all the things we needed with no fuss and is a quick learner so made things simple for us which is always a plus :). Maxine and Tom were wonderful house and dog sitters! Our dogs loved them right away, and we felt completely at ease while we were away. They sent regular photos, which gave us peace of mind. We came home to happy pups and a spotless house. We’d gladly have them back anytime and highly recommend them!

Jesaja made a great contribution to our work during his time with us. He was particularly useful in helping to improve our accounting systems and helping Phillip with spreadsheets and so on for salaries. He also worked very hard to bring in money through our Chuffed fundraiser. Jesaja interacted very well and positively with everyone at the school and in the village, and we really thank him for all he did. We wish him all the best, and hope he keeps in touch :)

We had a great experience hosting Dries. He is hardworking, proactive, and reliable – if you want things done, he is the right person for the job. He is also kind, friendly, and always willing to help. We truly appreciated his contribution and highly recommend him to other hosts. Natja and Luka

Simply a wonderful family. Francis, Vishaka, Neil and Ryan welcomed me from the very first moment with food, simplicity and endless generosity. They were wonderful hosts: attentive to my every need, concerned with making my experience a pleasant one and, above all, open to making me part of their family, even during the short time I was with them. Neil and Ryan were invaluable in speaking English with me all the time, teaching me new games and sharing the adventures we had on our trips out of town. Francis and Vishaka were special in their generosity and in the constant cultural exchanges we experienced every day. If you want to find a family and friends to experience Copenhagen with, they are the best hosts you could find.

Patricia and Stewart are such fantastic hosts! Straight away they showed such kindness by offering their car (before even meeting us) to drop our delivery car back to Toronto. This kindness carried on throughout our stay, with guided tours to waterfalls, beaches, kite festivals, ski resorts, museums, hikes and many more excursions. Patricia's pickling business meant very yummy food every day which was further enhanced with regular visits to get ice cream and treats! The work was varied and satisfying leaving you feeling like you are being helpful. We were made to feel like family during our stay, and that is a wonderful feeling when you are far away from home. J'ai passé une semaine chez Julian et ça a été FOR-MI-DA-BLE. Les horaires et les tâches ont été claires et raisonables; même si mes capacités en bricolage sont moyennes il écoutait mes idees, ce qui creait une ambiance de travail en équipe. J'ai beaucoup apprecié plein d'autres moments de partage: les repas, les achats au marché, les après-midis d'été... et surtout sa générosité et les conversations qui ont été hypernourrissantes. C'était la meilleure bienvenue de mon été en France que j'aurais jamais pu imaginer :) Merci beaucoup, Julien, et à bientôt! Ps. Bisous à toute la trouppe de chèvres et à Raoul :)

I stayed for one week and was warmly welcomed on very short notice, which I appreciated enormously — especially as I had just come from a difficult Workaway experience. During my stay, I helped with building a small house (working with cement), making tomato sauce, weeding, and harvesting in the garden. I really enjoyed the balance: we cooked and ate meals together, but they also gave me plenty of free time to relax. One highlight was going to the city together to try some typical local food — such a cool experience, and so different when you’re with locals. I would absolutely recommend this place to other Workawayers — and also just to lie in the garden, do nothing, and simply be in nature.

I spent 1,5 weeks at Arnauds Place. I felt really welcomed right in the beginning. Arnaud is a very calm, positive, caring and kind person who loves to tell stories. Everything at this place is thought about; he gave me tasks like cutting the trees of his garden, painting some stuff and plant some seeds, at the same time, he really paid attention to what you need or what could be fun for you to do in the region! I went to his working place at the theater, which I really am greatfull for and I enjoyed :))) The surrounding is really beautiful and the caravan I stayed in aswell as the common room were really cozy and felt homy! I would definitely come back! thank you Arnaud :)

I spent one and a half weeks at Alice’s place in August and I had a great time. I painted parts of the garage and the house and I enjoyed doing it! 🥰 I went on hikes (and walks), visited Stavanger (including the library where Alice lent me a book), we went into the whirlpool, did Discgolf and saw the beautiful area. Alice knows a lot about the area, she is very nice, helpful and encouraging and we had good conversations ;) Thank you!! 💗

Hayati is a truly amazing person, although I didn't stay with him, he helped me tremendously before during and after my time in Trabzon. I spent time with his amazing family and he arranged where to stay for me for more than a week!! He is selfless and does things from the bottom of his heart without asking for anything in return. I am forever grateful for his help and kindness🩵

Belle was perfect for our daughters during her stay with us. She was just what we were looking for: always smiling and friendly, she loved spending time with our daughters, playing, going for walks, in the trampoline or the pool... so they could take advantage of the opportunity to improve their English, which is what it was all about ;) Otherwise, she integrated perfectly into family life and helped with the tasks we asked of her. We wish you the best on your trip around Europe, Belle!

Estuve 3 semanas en el proyecto de Javier y Catu; fue una experiencia muy interesante. Como ya se mencionó, Javier sabe mucho de permacultura y regeneración de suelos. Me encantó sentirme tan cerca de la naturaleza. El espacio de voluntariado es sencillo pero enriquecedor. La oportunidad de dormir a la altura de los árboles de maracuyá y papayo, escuchar el canto de los pájaros y sentirme inmerso en el ritmo natural. Las tareas varían cada día y te permiten comprender los diferentes aspectos del trabajo de armonización con la naturaleza y colaboración con ella, para vivir como parte de este todo de forma armoniosa y respetuosa. Las 3 o 4 horas de trabajo te dan tiempo suficiente para dedicarte a tus proyectos personales o simplemente disfrutar del excepcional lugar. Tengo mucho que aprender y disfruté descubriendo cómo usar ciertas herramientas, participando en la creación de un gallinero y en las tareas generales de mantenimiento del jardín, los senderos, etc. La energía es muy buena, apacible, y me resultó fácil recrear un "hogar" en este proyecto. ¡Gracias por la bienvenida y por compartir!

Servaas & Michelle is a lovely couple and we really enjoyed their stay with us. They are both hard working and honest and we also had lots of fun. They helped us with a lot of things including foresty work and gardering and they were always in a cheerful and helpful mood.

I had an excellent time volunteering at the camp. My role was to manage the campsite, check people in, clean the rooms, handle equipment rentals, and any other things that the camp required, which included a little bit of landscaping work. Levan was a great host who was easy to contact and provided great communication. He was able to coordinate food, water, and any other supplies that I needed during my stay. The camp itself is beautiful! Surrounded by mountains, lakes, and waterfalls it's a perfect place if you're looking to get away from things and just enjoy nature. I would definitely recommend for any climbers! We were able to use the climbing equipment for free when not working and go climbing, which was really nice.

John & Pam were exceptional hosts! They went above and beyond to make our 1 week stay at their special cabin comfortable and satisfactory. I would recommend this Workaway Host to anyone looking for an intentional, genuine experience with two incredible humans who take their work and play/adventure time seriously. It was inspiring to see how well they took care of their property - a true piece of Heaven on Earth! John was a great leader in introducing projects and working alongside us with positivity at the forefront. Pam joined in on the work as well and the four of us accomplished A LOT during our stay. It was energizing working alongside this well-traveled Workaway Couple and we were impressed with all of their meals. Pam is a fantastic cook and John a great baker! As conversationalists, we loved chatting about life and appreciated their genuine friendship. John & Pam encouraged us to use their wood fired hot tub and they shared so many resources and suggestions for exploring the area, which is FULL of lush nature. We enjoyed strolling down the hill for polar plunges, stoking the hot tub for a dip after dinner under the stars, picking blackberries next door, and finding magic in their nearby protected forest trail. On our days off, we had the opportunity to experience new, enriching hobbies with this couple and their friends including: foraging for berries and mushrooms, making homemade meals, strumming instruments and singing during sunset, and playing new games alongside laughter and storytelling. As dog owners and Workawayers, we take pride in how well our dogs are trained and able to adjust to any situation and supervising during work days. John & Pam not only welcomed Charlie and Jax into their home with open arms, but treated them like family! It made our hearts full to witness the love they shared for our furry companions. From inviting them off-leash on hikes, playing fetch with Charlie, and cuddling with Jax, Pam & John truly connected with our dogs and we are so grateful for their welcoming energy. Also, they had the opportunity to play and explore with a new dog friend Eddy during their stay. Overall, we are so grateful that this opportunity aligned! It was a reciprocal experience full of respect, generosity, kindness, and support. Thank you, John & Pam, for hosting us for 1 week, entrusting us in the work on your special property, and treating our unit like close friends! We are looking forward to exploring the area in the future and reconnecting.

I can recommend this Workaway. Anil is a kind and gentle person and the land is very beautiful, with huge hills in the distance, pine forest, and amazing stars at night. I stayed in a large, comfortable tent, the food was very nice and we took turns making it and doing the dishes. I got to help with fig picking and concreting the kitchen area. I could only stay two nights because of personal circumstances, but Anil was very understanding about this and gave me a lift down the mountain
