Meeting Hannah and Talia was truly a great stroke of luck for me. They supported me incredibly in my work and always went above and beyond their responsibilities. Thanks to them, I had the opportunity to take my English Speaking Club to a much higher level. They communicated wonderfully with everyone who attended the club, helped improve their English, and made sure each session was fun, engaging, and full of positive energy. During our time working together, we genuinely became like a family and created many beautiful memories. I truly hope they visit Istanbul again someday I would love to work with them once more.

Two very good weeks with Richard and Yael. Easy to live with, good conversations. Very good English and French. Yael cooked one good meal for us one evening. They did a lot in the gardens, be it weeding a lot, very precise then, once explained they prepared the soil of the vegie patches for winter and spring following permaculture principles, excellent work, cardboard, mulching mature compost, horse manure and tons of mixed leaves. Richard did marvels with getting rid of old ivy on the stone garden walls invading everything, they are clean and ready for the clematis and Norman kiwi fruit to climb. He repaired some of the old planks around the squares. He completely renovated an old wooden door which was showing signs of old age. They emptied two big composts out of the twelve we have.and used the mature soil at the bottom. I explained the principle of comfrey manure which I make and use twice a year, a bit now in autumn and Yael sprayed it well over the surfaces, I ll do it again in spring. They were not very lucky with the Norman weather, rain , cold and even snow, but they don't mind they work all the same. They are very courageous and hard working. They also gave back their room clean and hoovered, which I appreciated. These two are a loving couple who make a good team and we wish them all the happiness they deserve . Thomas es una persona increible. Pasamos muy buenos momentos en nuestra fundacion. Su empatia, solidadridad y pasion se destacan en el. Estuvo tres semanas en nuestra casa y todo funciono perfecto. Es un voluntario totalmente recomendable para participar en otros proyectos.

As Bas already stated my current health situation hindered our comunication although it didn't afect it's deep meaning as I believe we are pointing on the same direction and as such his discrete presence was a real treat. Regarding work, when possible due to adverse weather and although some lack of experience, was pleasantly replaced by a sincere will to learn and perform, and the best judge, "tha boss", Lucia's father, was very pleased. All in all another great workawayer that I truly recomend and will gladly take back should our paths meet again.

Some of our best memories have been made here with Takumi, Mabo and Shaw. These guys are the most realist, most down-to-earth, talented people I have met so far travelling in Japan. The traditional unique house is tucked within the crevasse of Tsushima within a private beach of beauty found no where else in the world. We spent the days timelessly and living a life of simple solitude yet packed full of fun and once in a lifetime experiences. Our 3 week visit slipped by too fast and we will most certainly come back! I enjoyed spending the time helping with work and I learnt tenfold of what I had expected to: from fishing and playing guitar/drums with Takumi, learning ways of the craft with Shaw (we made a tables, chairs and tools together), to spearfishing, Moped riding and Sashimi cutting with Mabo. This was definitely our kind of heaven. Thank you Takumi, Shaw and Mabo for the best time ever!

Vera es una persona atenta, respetuosa y solidaria. Se incorporo a nuestro proyecto desde el primer dia. Compartimos momentos muy agradables. Estamos felices de poder conocerla y que deje su granito de arena en nuestra comunidad. Ya se extraña no tenerla en nuestra casa.

Veronika is great. She works hard and gets along with everyone. The gardens look much better than when she arrived.

This was our first workaway experience and we really lucked out with our stay at Kaaren’s. She was a lovely host and was willing to help us out with whatever we needed. Kaaren is a lovely, warm person and you could chat to her about anything. It helps too that the location of her home was surrounded by so much greenery and working on her property was so nice as you got to stare out at the lovely view she has. We miss her and her darling cat, Cashew so much. Thank you Kaaren for a great stay!

Sultan and her family came as volunteers and teachers to our camp last August, they were very friendly and helpful, and could adapt very quickly and made a real difference even though they stayed only one week.

Last november i did my 2nd workaway here after my 1st experience somewhere else, that 1st experience was pretty bad and this was the total opposite! The family is very warm and welcoming. Despite Henrique's COPD illness he is the perfect host. He is very clear in what he wants and also flexible if something turns out differently. Despite the COPD he has still a lot of passion for life and is leaving a legacy for and with his family. I did not talk that much with Henrique because he had an infection in his throath but when we talked it was always good and inspiring. His wife Lucia is also very interesting, helpful and kind. She cooks like a chef, the food was always delicious and the talks during or after dinner very nice. Their sons Lucas and Gui are really helpful and speak good english too. And then you have Luis, the father of Lucia, he doesn't speak a word of english but we managed to communicate with sign language and a little french. Together we fixed a pool for the gooses and did gardening. With his 80 years old its crazy how strong he still is. We were a good team, he with his endless determination and me using machines to save time. We didn't had that much time to work the 10 days that I stayed cause it was raining a lot and almost everyday. But we managed to finish it between the windows of not raining. The goal was actually to build a greenhouse but we had to change that plan cause of the rain which i didn't mind because i learned to work with cement and plant vegetables which I really loved! Thankyou again for everything. I would come back for sure! Good luck with the farm y tenha um bom dia!:D

Organisée, souriante et indépendante, l expérience vécue avec Divya fut excellente. Autant pour nous que pour Malik et ses mathématiques. Divya est vraiment une personne sur laquelle on peut compter.

This dude, Manuel is so kind and lovely guy! He follows my rules of beekeeping operation properly, and I had felt he respects me. He is good at harmonizing and communicating with other volunteers. I really didn't feel any inconveniences and stress with being together with him. I even can say that I wanted to be together with him. Sew you again someday, Manuel. You were nicee niceeeeee!

La volontaire a traversé un imprévu de santé, que je comprends, mais elle n’a pas répondu durant plusieurs jours et a annulé sa venue le jour même. Cela a eu un impact réel sur mon planning. Je recommande d’améliorer la communication en cas de problème afin d’éviter de mettre l’hôte en difficulté.

Ich konnte eine Woche bei Tobias an diesem Traumplatz über Kalamata verbringen und bei der Olivenernte mithelfen. Diese Zeit habe ich sehr genossen, das Haus mit dem gigantischen Ausblick, ebenso denwunderschön gelegene Olivenhain , wenn er wegen der Steile auch oft eine Herausforderung war. Die Ernte mit Tobias, der mit soviel Engagement und Herzblut seine Olivenbäume behandelt und die wahnsinnig tolle Verpflegung, vor allem unsere Brotzeit im Olivenhain mit dem super Vollkornbrot seines Sohnes und dem so soo gutem frischem Olivenöl, Tomaten und Schafskäse waren phantastisch. Es war eine sehr schöne Zeit, wir hatten sehr viel Freude und sehr gute Teamarbeit. Der bewundernswerten Motivation von Tobias die auf uns überschwappte, konnten auch die vielen Regenschauer nichts anhaben. Ich sage Danke für die schöne Zeit und hoffe, dass es mir nächstes Jahr wieder möglich ist bei der Olivenernte dabei zu sein.

Vielen Dank für die tollen Unterhaltungen, die super coolen Kurse und eure Gastfreundlichkeit! Ich kann euch total weiterempfehlen und freue mich darauf, euch auch in Zukunft wieder zu sehen. Alles Gute! :)

There is already more than one year passed. Nevertheless I would like to write a feedback because I enjoyed it very much. The family welcomed myself very friendly and they gave me every opportunity to get a first impression of Irish culture. I was allowed to work with the horses and other small animals on the farm. I helped as well with renovation work a little ouside of town in County Clare and I also often helped in the timber shelter to build obstacles for horse jumping, which often included painting the objects. Naturally, I kept the farm in good order. Made all a bit tidy and helped with all essential tasks. I would like to thank you very much ! I felt comfortable in the mobile home and I have fallen for Dee and the whole family very much in their own way. In special memory of mine is our trip to a car race where Howard was also driving and the trip to the show jumping where Cara with Mr. Tiger was very lovely. I hope that I can visit Ireland and the family again soon. It was helpful, that I had my own bicycle with me and I was therefore mobile enough to travel to Limerick or even to the Cliffs of Moher on weekends. Beannachtaí, Julian

It was great having you during the quieter season, and you helped a lot with weeding, cleaning, and taking care of the animals. Glad you enjoyed learning about all the fermentation processes — chocolate, cheese, kombucha, coffee — and we’d love to have you back during the harvest season for the full experience. Last-Minute Lifesaver and Truly Authentic Calabrian Experience! After adifficult previous workaway experience, I was searching for a last-minute placement and was incredibly relieved when Vanessa and Emanuele responded quickly and allowed me to join them so soon. The Hosts: I will never forget how Vanessa welcomed me with open arms at the train station, and Emanuele was just as warm and welcoming when we arrived home. They are both genuinely kind people, and we had wonderful conversations. I was truly impressed by their dynamic as a couple/team, the ambitious project they are building together, and Emanuele's deep personal connection and beautiful stories about Calabria. The Work: The tasks were very varied and kept things interesting! My work included organizing the storage room and workshop, preparing fennel, making delicious jam from strawberry grapes, cleaning countless jars for preserves and tomato sauce, polishing antique door handles and copper knobs, and pitting olives. It was a great mix of practical work that allowed me to feel truly involved in their life and project. The Accommodation: The accommodation was fantastic. I had a private apartment on the top floor of the house, which was extremely clean and tidy, featuring a kitchen, bathroom, dining area, and bedroom. I was also generously allowed to use all the kitchen facilities and food. The Location: Calabria is simply breathtaking! I fell completely in love with the stunning landscape, the turquoise, crystal-clear sea, and the small, picturesque cliffs. The absolute best part was being able to walk to the beach in less than two minutes from the house—a real dream come true for me to have the sea so accessible every day. From Paola station, it was easy to visit places like Tropea, Capo Vaticano, and Scilla. Recommendation and Tips: I highly recommend this experience and am incredibly grateful for my time here. I truly hope to return one day! For future workawayers, I want to add a couple of helpful notes that are crucial for getting the most out of your stay: Transport: Having a car is highly recommended, as public transport can be limited. Be aware that many towns have an upper part (in the mountains) and a lower part (by the sea), and walking between them in the heat is very tiring. I was dependent on Vanessa for rides to the station, which she happily provided, but it was often very early and probably inconvenient (she had to always drive me and pick me up again) for her. Communication: To avoid any minor confusion (which I experienced due to my own history with previous poor placements), I strongly recommend that volunteers discuss your expected working hours, boundaries, wishes and shared meals right at the start. We had a small mix-up over the hours and whether or not to eat together and that eating together in the evening means working together more hours which caused some confusion, especially because we simply had different perspectives: Vanessa and Emanuele were focused on getting a lot done and making quick progress with the work they were grateful for, while I was keen to help but also wanted to reserve some time in the afternoon to enjoy the sea and to explore the landscape a little. Please don't hesitate to speak openly about your expectations and feelings! Emanuele and Vanessa will welcome you with open arms and are very understanding. I wish you a wonderful time in their world and in this very special piece of land!

To the future host who receives a message from Harry and Izzy, you are about to gain so much from these two and spend a truly wonderful time together. They respected all of our house rules and moved with such ease, making our shared family life light and enjoyable. Both of them have a remarkably mature personality — far beyond what you would expect from people in their twenties. Harry is not only a professional in photography and film; his emotional sensitivity is truly exceptional. He has a real gift for sensing what people are hoping for and effortlessly shaping it into his creations. He feels with his heart, and his work shows it clearly. Izzy brings happiness simply by being here. She is always smiling, and whatever she helps with, she does it with such grace and ease. From this young woman, we have learnt what is truly important. Our time with the two of them, living together like family, was absolutely perfect. They bring a beautiful spark into everyday life. Thank you, both of you, truly.
