We stayed with Philippe and Kathleen for 3 Weeks in November 2025, helping out mainly with gardening and cooking amongst some other things. We originally agreed to stay 2 weeks, but after being there for a while, we asked if we could stay for a bit longer, partly because we had a little trouble in communication with the next workaway host, but most importantly because we really enjoyed spending time with Phillipe and Kathleen at their wonderful place. They are both incredibly friendly as well as funny, and offer lots of things to do. We got to experience so much with the two of them, acquired new skills and had an incredibly fun time. It was the most wonderful workaway experience and we are very glad that we were able to spend some time there.

Alex is a good man and an incredibly loving Father. His son is one of the most adorable, loving toddlers you'll ever meet. I enjoyed my time with him and I will enjoy our continued friendship. My duties were very straightforward and defined. One or two jobs were all that I did. I did not have ample time to assist, but Alex was incredibly understanding. Contribute, have a good attitude, be happy to have long, interesting discussions, and you will undoubtedly have a good experience with Alex. Even after leaving Oslo, Alex and I have maintained contact and will undoubtedly do so for years to come. He wants nothing but the world for his son, and it's reflected in the goodness of his heart. Our time together was short, but I look forward to seeing him again.

It is amazing!!! The place is beautiful and all of the staff and volunteers were super nice and friendly right from the start! The locals are amazing and some of the nicest people you will ever meet! The work is simple and fun to do and the hours are great! You’ll have lots of time to explore the many different fun things to do around the country!! A big thank you to Hannah and Mario for letting me stay here and making this experience awesome I can’t wait to come back!!!!

Sophie was very good at setting expectations, so I knew I was arriving here while it was in winter mode, as was Sophie. While we didn't have a chance to meditate outdoors together, there was plenty of chance to in Sophie's peaceful domain. With the daily three hours work every morning, the rest of the days were spent going into Cartagena and walking in the area. Thank you for the thick sleeping bag that kept me warm in the caravan! And for the friendly caravan mate! Work done: mostly weeding by hand with the help of a pick axe, painting a housewall, treating a wooden table with a nourishing oil and helping cut up and carry off a cypress tree.

Chlóe fue una chica encantadora dispuesta a ayudar muchísimo en todas las tareas de la finca. Además es muy divertida y comprometida con su trabajo. Estuve muy feliz durante su estancia en mi finca y sin duda me encantaría volver a disfrutar de su compañía en un futuro. Muchas gracias y espero que hasta pronto =)

Aimi was so warm, lovely and easy going and incredibly flexible with any support we needed. I would highly recommend this person to help you with your children or any household support you need.

If you’re reading Alex and Scott's listing and it resonates with you and what you’re looking for as a travel and Workaway experience - don’t hesitate to apply! My partner Martin and I have much experience of working with these guys and cannot recommend it enough. Our time at their place really was every single thing we hoped for - and so much more. We feel blessed to have met these guys, to have spent time with them, and have learnt from them. They really do have so much to offer! From guidance on how to make the most of rural living including planning plantation of land (vineyards, fruit forests, vegetable patches, zen garden etc) through to sympathetic restoration of extensive property thoughtfully converted with taste, style, and a creative eye for upcycling, you’re sure to enjoy learning about their life journey and experiences, taking away skills and knowledge gained - together with lifelong memories and shared times to be cherished. Scott and Alex are fantastic companions (now our lifelong friends!) Spending time with them is natural and easy in their simple, authentic and active lifestyle, and they know all the best local spots! It’s clear to see they enjoy welcoming volunteers from around the world and really value their help and input. There’s a certain honour associated with helping restore an ancient, abandoned property; your time, energy and physical impact becomes part of the place, part of the future of the space. It’s a rewarding and soul nourishing way to spend time. Jekabs was a great guy who helped me with eco-construction tasks, reforestation activities, and the pea harvest. He’s a good hand, and he knows how to adapt even in the remote mountain areas. Thanks again — I wish you the best on your journey.

From the time we picked these two lads up to the day they left ,well, where do we start . They were named the A'Team with another workawayer(Kiwi ) who was staying at the same time .Unbelievable time . Olive picking was the first project which was picked in record time and record tonnage .Well done boys . We then moved onto land clearance which included bramble bashing ,cutting back broom and mimosa which was really strenuous and then bonfiring all the shrub. They worked endlessly ,came back to the Quinta always enjoying a beer or a glass of wine or two at the end of the day. They are amazing lads who are such fun , honest , polite ,always helping with the washing up ,wonderful sense of humour and a great pleasure to have here with us. It is now very quiet without them, the animals miss them also .Our very exciting and competitive card games in the evenings will be hard to match ! We would welcome you back any day ,the port barrel awaits you !!

Jessi was great! A lovely young, bubbly person that was not shy of any work and always asked if there was something else she could help with. We had the pleasure of hosting her for 6 weeks and she was extremely helpful and very tidy. If it was washing, cleaning and other household chores , farming, sheep marki g, fencing or renovating and painting, she is certainly a Jack of all trades. I highly recommend Jessi and we'd welcome her any time again. Wishing you the best of luck on your future journey.

Wow, amazing first workaway experience! I felt so welcome, It felt like a second family. You also feel completely free in what you can do. And you're not tied down to anything. Jon, so smart, learned a lot from him. About birds, swales, how the land worked and lots of order stuff. Calla, so lovely. Super caring person. A real mom. Not that Jon is a lovely and super caring person. And a real mom….HO oops real dad. The kids are lucky to have them as parents. Speaking of them, they were super fun to play and be with. Big laughs, played a lot of football, even watched their match and training. and not to forget, I learned a lot about Pokémon the biggest reason to come back ;) I mainly focused on tasks aimed at maintaining and improving the land and the trees. Sleeping I did in my own tent and when the night got too cold I was invited to sleep inside (so sweet). Even my dog was welcome. Overall it was amazing. truly a place to come back to and not slipping out on rock again. See these lovely people, dogs and hens again.

This was my first time traveling alone and I could not imagine someone welcoming me better than this family and the other volunteers. Everyone was super kind and the atmosphere at this place was magical. I learned Spanish super fast and improved thanks to the daily lessons with Ricardo and the others. I am so glad I chose this place as my first destination and I would recommend it to everyone!❤️ Gracias por todo mi familia columbiana🙏

it was a total pleasure to have this wonderful being here , i like the way he sees this world and the deep desire to add positively to it. it felt like a family member came to visit and hep me out. he was respectful of my space, sensitive to my need to be alone if so. he was very dedicated in helping the best he could, always showed up at the time of his volunteering hours , worked the full hours wihtout distractions. we shared the kitchen and that was the first time for me bc i always had 2 kitchens. it all went so easy, never were we in each others way. we were both in and out of the kitchen fast so it was real easy. he is a good communicator, good at talking and also good at listening ...both . the pets loved him, they played every afternoon. he was always ready at the agreed upon time for rides up and down to town, left the rooms he used impecably clean. he put every thing back in the same place he found it. i can go on and on......

Rocío and myself ended up joining Rosa's project quite unexpectedly, and it was undoubtedly the best thing that could have happened to us. Rosa is an incredible host, with so many exciting projects that it seems there's always something to do and something to learn. It's been an amazing two weeks where we've done a lot of climbing in the area, as well as meeting many of Rosa's friends, all of whom have hearts of gold and lives straight out of a movie. By the way, i don´t know how but they all cook like five stars chefs! One hundred percent recommended; plus, if you're lucky, you might even get to take home your own olives to season them ;)

So much fun with horses and doggies, as well with all the people! I had lovely time with Monica in Trilla, learned so much, and the shared stories are unforgettable! Thank you life long friend ❤️

I had an amazing time working and living here! I only wish I could have stayed longer :) Teton Village is beautiful, close to national parks and hiking trails, and everyone I met was so kind. The work was also very organized and there were always managers available if you had any questions. Thanks for having me!

Martha from the UK stayed with us and she was an absolute pleasure to host. She is well-behaved, has good manners, and is naturally quiet and thoughtful. She loves reading and is very active, always helping with whatever she could. She respected our culture and never disturbed us in any way. As a native English speaker, she helped us improve our English, and we had many lovely and meaningful discussions. She really enjoyed our food, and we truly enjoyed having her with us. We would be very happy to welcome her again. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, respectful, and helpful volunteer. We wish her all the best!

I stayed with Luka and Meta for 3 weeks and really had a great time! From the very first moment, they made me feel at home as they are both very friendly and welcoming :) The tasks I did weren’t too hard; e.g. I took care of their animals and cleaned the garden. As their farm is located in a beautiful and quiet landscape, there is always a nice view and a calm atmosphere. They also told me a lot about Slovenian culture, traditions, and everyday life, which was really interesting! I recommend this place to everyone who likes the countryside and wants to get to know real farm life :) Warm wishes, Tabea
