Philipp and Erik spent three weeks with us. They were active and willing to do well, mostly busy in the garden. They gently complied with the contraints of our way of living. They used their free time to visit the surroundings showing interest in discovering and exploring. They are nice young men .

This is a great volunteering opportunity to get an authentic experience teaching English in Guatemala! The project is run with a lot of passion and enthusiasm. Raul and the teachers are a great team who are very supportive of the volunteers. The experience of living in Palín and getting to teach/practice English with so many students of varying levels was invaluable. The students themselves are so sweet, interested in learning about your life, and really want to improve their English with you. I would recommend having at least a basic level of Spanish and ability to plan lessons for the students. The accommodation is also very nice, and Raul was incredibly helpful in making sure me and the other two volunteers felt at home. I stayed here for one month at the start of my time in Guatemala and it was an incredibly memorable way to start the trip! Thank you Raul and everyone :)

The only bad part about having Ally volunteer with us this summer is that eventually she had to leave. She came to Canada from Italy with this amazing attitude and work ethic that stood out right away. Within the first couple of weeks she was easily the MVP of our staff — super dependable, upbeat, and always jumping in to help with anything we needed, often before we even asked. She worked hard, paid attention to the little things, and made our busiest days feel so much easier. Ally lived in our main lodge for the summer, and she fit in perfectly from day one. She helped keep the place spotless, cooked for the other staff, and always made sure the people around her felt comfortable, supported, and at home. She wasn’t just a volunteer — she became a huge part of our daily life here, and the heart of our little staff community. Ally — and her cat, Paka — quickly became favourites around the lodge. Guests loved them. Kids would stop by just to hang out and play with Paka, and families constantly commented on how friendly, kind, and genuine Ally was. She brought such a warm and positive energy that we’re genuinely going to miss. If you’re lucky enough to get the chance to host Ally and Paka, don’t even think twice — they’ll make your place better, just like they did for ours.

I look back on my time at the Quinta with so much love. Nathan is a beautiful person and made me feel welcome and relaxed from the very first moment. The days never felt like work at all , everything was super chill and easygoing, with lots of laughs and good conversations and hugs with Max and Minnie. We went out for dinner in the village, went swimming a couple of times, and I could even borrow an electric bike to explore on my own. Thank you, Nathan 🩷

It was a pleasure to meet Ceci and her students. Ceci is a hard-working teacher, and I enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to her school and to improve my teaching skills. The volunteering schedule wasn't demanding. I had plenty of free time to enjoy the beauty of Villa La Angostura and to take the bus to the larger town of Bariloche. I highly recommend volunteering with Ceci. Thank you, Ceci and all my best wishes for your students' continued success.

Staying with this host family was a wonderful experience. The home was welcoming, clean, and comfortable, and I felt included from the very beginning. The family was kind, supportive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The meals were great, the conversations were warm and engaging, and I learned a lot about the local culture and daily life. I always felt safe, respected, and well cared for. I truly appreciate everything they did to make my stay enjoyable, and I would gladly recommend this host family to anyone looking for a positive and friendly homestay experience.

I had such a great stay with Jill and Paul! From the moment I arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and made it really easy to feel at home. The tasks were very manageable and varied. Most of the time I did some gardening together with Jill. I also loved the area and the dogs! It's a beautiful place to spend some time and unwind. Overall, I felt appreciated, included, and really comfortable during my stay. They are wonderful hosts, and I’m very glad and thankful I got the chance to meet them. I’d absolutely recommend staying with them!

Be careful, if you come to Pedro's farm, you might want to become a real farmer 😍 Petro is really passionate about his work. I really enjoyed learning from him. The house has an amazing view on greek mountains. There is a lot of animals to take care of (chickens, rabbits, cats, turkeys, bees). I stayed for 2 weeks during olive's season. So my first mission was in the field, picking the olives. Anyone who wants to learn can !!! He works in a way that minimizes environmental damage. I really enjoyed learning this way. On my free days, we would go to the mountains to pick mushrooms, go hiking or rest. It is also very easy to hitchhike on the island! I really recommend this place and I miss it already ✨ Thank you Pedro 🙏

The one week workaway experience we had at Pedro’s farm came at just the right time when we needed it the most. It can be said that it was a kind of salvation sent by heaven. We had encountered a very unpleasant host just a week prior, coupled with continuous torrential rain for several days, which had brought our mood down to an all-time low. Since arriving at Pedro’s farm, the sun has been shining almost every day, and I can cook in the large kitchen enjoying the warmth by the fireplace.We have finally been able to dry out our bodies and our campervan, savoring the endless sunlight with eagerness. Pedro is a very kind friendly generous host, easy to communicate and flexible with job arrangements. Dave has done some weed clearing in the farm with Pedro and his friend, he also done some sanding,paining trimming timber which was made into shelves. Funnie has done some tidying and cleaning up the house and sharing some Chinese cooking. Both of us like feeding treats and spending some time with the donkeys and horse. We are so grateful for the time shared with Pedro in his family farm and the peaceful mind we could have. Thank you again Pedro and all the best.

Ana has been a fantastic host, really accommodating and helpful. The work has been realistic, everything has been provided for us and Ana has made sure we were able to get out and about and experience the astonishing natural beauty of this part of the world. We have so enjoyed our time at Laguna Garzon!

A pesar que tuvimos cancelaciones de utlimo minuto de otros 3 workawayers que debieron acompanarla por dos semanas mas, Marta demostro que ella sola podria traer muy buena experiencia a nuestros huespedes y cumplir con todos las asignaciones! Se harian un gran favor teniendo a Marta colaborandoles!

had the absolutely most wonderful time here. Bruno and Clara are the most welcoming hosts, when it comes to work they are super chill and fun and with them the hours fly by! the property itself is a little slice of heaven complete with sweet animals and stunning views. the kitchen is fantastic and honestly within a week the hostel felt like home. could not recommend this place enough! will definitely be coming back

Miya estuvo como voluntaria en nuestro refugio durante dos semanas y su participación fue realmente positiva. Es una persona muy activa, siempre dispuesta a asumir cualquier tarea que se presente. Destaca por su determinación y su manera meticulosa de trabajar, buscando siempre hacer las cosas bien. Además, le gusta compartir sus conocimientos y experiencias, lo que enriquece el ambiente del grupo. Su energía se nota en el día a día y aporta una dinámica muy agradable. También es puntual y demuestra un verdadero compromiso con el mantenimiento del espacio común, siempre procurando que esté limpio y acogedor, algo fundamental en este tipo de convivencia. Recomendaría sin duda a Miya para cualquier proyecto: es alguien que deja una linda huella y con quien es fácil trabajar.
