We had a lovely time hosting both Cyrille and Florence and would happily recommend them to anybody looking for 2 genuine people . They assisted with a variety of tasks and were happy to tackle anything asked of them . They enjoyed and interacted with the animals and other people alike and were great company , very respectful of our home and property . They would be welcome back anytime .

Anthony and Agathe stayed with me for almost a month, and it was such a great time. When they were here, I didn’t have to worry about the farm at all — they took care of everything! Cooking, looking after the cows, cleaning, planting… they handled it all. They helped me so much. Agathe cooked amazing food, and Anthony was always ready to help with anything. I’m really grateful for both of them.

I had the best time staying at Guys Hill this November! Jen, Chi Lye, Alannah (and Otis) welcomed me to their ‚small’ farm so warmly that I soon felt at home here. During my three weeks I learned so much and gained a lot of experience in various areas (horses, chickens, gardening, backing, cooking, tractors, chainsawing...). Jen and Chi Lye are always eager to teach you new things and for you to step out of your comfort zone to learn new skills. There’s always plenty of work around the farm, that even though tasks could be physically demanding from time to time, no day was ever the same. I also had the privilege of living and working with other Workawayers, who made the stay extra fun and special. Thank you for all the chats, meals, stories, experience, knowledge and patience shared with me. I would love to visit one day to see how the project new farm went!

This was my first work away experience and I’m so grateful that it was here. I helped in the garden most of the time which was really nice as well as helped with some content creating. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The owners are so generous and kind and always checked in on me. Im so grateful for the opportunity. The reserve was so beautiful and peaceful. Definitely reccomend it!

Emily and Ashleigh were truly the best volunteers I have ever had, and I say that from the bottom of my heart. When I opened my hotel in Prizren, I was going through one of the hardest and most stressful periods of my life. I was trying to start a business from nothing, dealing with problems every day, and honestly, there were moments when I felt completely alone. But then they came, and they helped me like family. Not like volunteers — like a brother and a sister. I will never forget the way they stood by me. Even when it was their free time, even when they had absolutely no obligation, even when I didn’t ask — they were there. They never made me feel like I was bothering them, never made me feel guilty. They just showed up and helped, and that meant more to me than I can ever put into words. They supported me emotionally when I was stressed and worried, and they helped me with everything from cleaning to managing a huge hotel that felt impossible for one person to handle alone. They saw me during my most challenging moments, and instead of walking away, they stayed. That says everything about the kind of people they are. What they did for me is something I will remember for as long as I live. Their kindness, their honesty, their energy — it all left a mark on me. They became part of my life and they will always remain a part of it. I mean this sincerely: they will be invited to every family event I have in the future, because I truly consider them family friends now. People like them don’t come around often, and I was lucky to meet them at the exact time I needed help the most. Whoever gets them as volunteers in the future will be very lucky. Not just because they work hard, but because they care. And that is something you cannot buy and you cannot teach. They bring warmth, respect, and real support wherever they go. I send love and respect from Kosovo, Malsor

Rachel was a great help during her volunteering. In addition to being diligent in her tasks, she brought great energy to the Hostel by organizing various activities. Her French-English bilingualism is truly an asset :) We would gladly take her back as a volunteer whenever she wishes (just saying :) ).

Nate and Jeanne are so easyto work with. They are personable, friendly, and have a willingness to try any task asked of them. They worked hard on a variety of projects. Very communicative of their needs and abilities. Both of them have turned out to be great cooks. So open to cooking with new foods and trying new dishes. Great with kids, our kids absolutely loved interacting with them. Glad we had this duo join our farm.

I am honestly honoured that I have been contacted by Kirsten; I spent couple of weeks in Pecos, NM; one week by myself, where I took care of the 3 lovely dogs, and one week helping around the house, where the main help was to paint some walls. Kirsten is an adorable woman, very kind and gentle who took care of me as part of the family, and I felt treated the same from her husband Kit, and the 2 "kids", Kit and Kaimana. I felt very much at home, and it came naturally to me to help as much as I could with whatever I could. I have been fed amazing food as well, and I really appreciate that. I had a very beautiful room with forest view: worth a 5-star resort! So hard to move on with life, as I felt connected with not only the family, but also with the 3 dogs :( thanks guys for everything, it is such an amazng experience where I re-connected so much with animals and nature!!

My stay with Lauren and her family was just lovely. I stayed for six weeks and was immediately welcomed into the family. I loved spending time with the girls , other workaways and the animals. I wish the family a great future and will always remember my time there.

Mara was a sweet girl that stayed with us for six weeks. She was really great with woodwork and clad our duck coop and built stalls for our goats. We wish her all the best for her ongoing endeavours!

We loved welcoming Val, Jack and Luna to our home. From our first interaction their communication was excellent, and we appreciated them reaching out for a meet and greet. Their energy and enthusiasm for helping out around our home was wonderful and they made a really valuable contribution. More than anything we appreciated their ease and kindness in all aspects of interaction with our family and fur babies. It was a pleasure to host them and we look forward to welcoming them again.

I spent an amazing month with Stephanie who is an incredibly kind, strong and wise person. The volunteer’s cabin is super cozy and comfortable and she always makes sure you’re well stocked with food!! I learned a lot from Stephanie and loved sharing dinners with her and my fellow volunteer. It was really an unforgettable experience and the ranch and surroundings are beautiful - San Cristobal is accessible and lovely to visit on weekends, but you’re very much out in the countryside, so it’s an amazing place to disconnect. The expectations are very clear and fair, and I really appreciated the level of trust Stephanie put in us to go out riding or look after the ranch when she had to go to town etc. I highly recommend this Workaway to any horse/animal lovers.

Pariikshit was a wonderful addition to our home. He completed all the tasks we asked with enthusiasm and thoroughness. He was delightful young who asked insightful and thoughtful questions which always made meal time enjoyable. We would recommend him to any future host and would welcome him back to our home any time.

Steven spent the last month in our hostel as a volunteer, and he was a huge help with every task we asked of him. What’s more he often took initiative on his own. He was always friendly, kind, fun, and got along great with volunteers, guests, and staff. He was constantly willing to help, spend good time with us, and share ideas on how we could improve our place. We couldn’t recommend him more to other hosts! We hope to see him again soon - he will always be welcome here as part of our family<3

Elisabeth is the most welcoming, warm, generous, considerate host you can imagine, and you can say the same thing about her pup Luomi! Her home away from home on the lake in Lapland is at the same time cozy and stunning, peaceful and wild. Elisabeth is very clear about the tasks she's hoping to accomplish and making sure you're equipped to do them, but even more than that she's excited about sharing the nature and culture of the region with her guests. Her love for Lapland is contagious. Staying with Elisabeth you will truly have an all-around wonderful experience.

We stayed with Alexa and Holger for a month, and it was one of our favourite workaway experiences ever!! They are both so funny, caring and genuinely really lovely people. They take care of their workawayers, offering a real cultural exchange and a family environment. Our daily tasks included creating a compost, tearing down wallpaper, organising sheds and basements, cutting wood and raking leaves. Their property is beautiful and surrounded by lovely nature making outside work very pleasant! We also made new best friends - their dog, Willem, and their cat, Lotta, who we miss already. We would highly recommend Alexa and Holger to anyone who values a quality cultural exchange and lots of laughter. Thank you so much to Alexa and Holger for being the best hosts and our forever friends! Savannah and Mahina

I had a great time staying with Allison and Scott! The work in the garden was light and they never run out of patience explaining everything, you could really sense their passion about gardening. Allison took me to her yoga lessons and Scott made sure to guarantee New Zealand experiences, even moving an excavator. I also got to come along to some gatherings with their lovely friends, who always made me feel welcome, so I can really recommend this place for anyone looking for a rural New Zealand experience and who wants to hear storys from all over the world . The pretty cool boat workawayers stay in is a wonderful contrast to the busy hostel life and has space to cook and relax during the day. All in all a good first workaway experience, thank you:)

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Maya and Jake They are completely self-motivated, they designed and built a sturdy bridge with zero supervision, nailed wooden cladding onto the walls of our patio deck, built a small dam in the stream so our son Harrison has his own pool, cleared and maintained trails, and helped with gardening. They’re confident with all tools like skill saws and weed whackers. They are unfazed by hard work, mud or bugs, and took wonderful care of Harrison whenever needed. With their own truck they happily explored independently on days off but were also happy to join us on family adventures to the beach or the the secret waterfall. They left our place dramatically improved and were so much fun to be around. Maya and Jake, you are welcome back anytime. Any host would be incredibly lucky to have you! Thank you both!
