We stayed here for 5 weeks and could have stayed forever. Mike, Lynley and Mike's brother picked us up and as soon as we met them we were already laughing at felt at home. We quickly became family and had a very hard time saying goodbye. Mike and Lynley are amazing hosts and lodge owners. We are so impressed by how well Mike and Lynley manage their property while connecting with, and making time for, every single guest and volunteer. This is one of the most beautiful (and clean) lodges we have seen and the surrounding area was breathtaking. Every morning we would wake up and start work around 9:30. Work included cleaning rooms, changing and cleaning bedding, cleaning up the property, and other random tasks. After work we had the rest of the day to explore the surrounding areas. We borrowed bikes, paddleboards and kayaks and hiked many beautiful paths. We even took a day to hike part of the Queen Charlotte Track and Mike was kind enough to water taxi us around. He also took us to see a colony of Gannets which was magical. The work was very very reasonable and Mike and Lynley were always there to help us with anything we needed. We had a few dinners together and got to know Mike, Lynley and their family (we also love Phil and Deb and did not want to say goodbye to them). We also made such good friends with the other volunteers who were there with us and the postman Adam :) The lodge is very remote and is a refreshing way to get away from busy life but still meet people from all around the world. The guests we met were very sweet and always chatty. We were able to collect mussels, oysters and cockles and cook them right away for dinner! Mike taught us the best way to harvest oysters and mussels and made the best oyster pancakes we had ever eaten... or the only ones we have ever eaten. The energy here is so positive and welcoming, we cannot recommend staying here more. Thank you so so much, Mike and Lynley for opening your home up to us and making us feel like family. We will never forget your baked goods and positive energy. You are both such hard workers and have made such a beautiful space for people to come together, relax, and take time to look inwards. We cannot forget to include Tui and the chickens! Tui was so sweet and would keep us company everyday. We will %100 come back and cannot wait to see everyone again!

I had the privilege of staying with Ria and Enda in their beautiful home for 10 days this November. Their generosity and flexibility with a last-minute accommodations and willingness to welcome me into their family will forever be cherished. Ria and Enda always ensured that I was cared for, enjoying myself, and truly experiencing Sligo County and the Irish culture. The work was very manageable, tasks such as tending to the garden, dosing the sheep, and witnessing a sustainable farm-to-table lifestyle by helping with harvesting, meal prepping, and cooking. We got to share so much culture and life stories whether by the fireside, during meals, or long walks by the beach. The mountains and beaches took my breath away, and my fondest memory was enjoying a pint at a local pub while experiencing traditional Irish music and getting immersed in Irish culture and the locals. Being able to slow down and enjoy the peacefulness of their rural lifestyle while nurturing hobbies like photography, art, and music made my first Workaway experience magical, and I wish them all the best!

My sister and I feel very lucky to have spent the month of November at Tony and Christine’s place. We truly enjoyed every part of the experience — from the garden/dog work to the lovely conversations we shared, and of course the cosy cabin that quickly felt like home. The location is perfect if you have a car: great for exploring nearby cities as well as beautiful natural areas for hiking and getting outdoors. We can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a little adventure surrounded by kind, welcoming people 😊 All the best, Alberte & Caroline

Patrick and Luisa are incredibly generous hosts. Our small apartment contained everything we needed including a view that spanned beyond the Almalfi coast and E-bikes that were made available to us so we could explore the surrounding villages of Cilento. Our bellies were always full with diverse and quality food and we had an endless supply of olive oil and coffee! As for the work, we worked mostly outside(weather permitting) at Luisa’s property clearing, cutting and piling wood which is work we both enjoyed and were completely comfortable doing. We also helped out with other general jobs such as cleaning or helping Luisa install bits and pieces around her casa. We very much enjoyed getting to know them both during our many lunches together and our times around the wood stove in the kitchen. We not only feel like we had an experience but made friends. One of those friends being Osso, their dog who would never pass up an opportunity to go on an adventure with us and who’s never ending motivation to go on another walk we have missed immensely since departing. We walked away with many pleasant memories of our time in Perdifumo and would not be surprised if we return one day. Thank you Luisa and Patrick for all your hospitality:) Pier and Justin Ps. We look forward to hearing all about the continuation of your trail in the not so distant future!

My time with Eli, Juanpe, and the children was absolutely wonderful. I stayed for about 3 weeks and would have stayed longer if time allowed. This was my first formal work exchange through the site. I couldn't have asked for a better one. The family is kind, easy-going, and welcoming. I enjoyed being a part of regular Spanish lifestyle and joining the family for activities or get togethers. I typically spent time with each child practicing English in a relaxed setting, either with learning materials, regular conversation, or games. I found Eli to have great communication about what she was looking for. If you are unsure about anything, just ask! I had my own bedroom, Eli always made sure I had enough to eat, and the house was spotless. :) If you enjoy small village life and mountains, this will be a great place for you. Grenada is not too far. 10/10 recommend.

Logan served at our school as a tutor and classroom assistant, where he consistently demonstrated responsibility, dedication, and a strong commitment to education. Throughout his volunteer service, he provided academic support to students, assisted teachers with classroom activities, and showed excellent initiative in every task assigned. He worked effectively with diverse groups, maintained a positive attitude, and demonstrated adaptability within the school environment. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, he supported school events by helping take photographs and serving as a judge in English activities, showing flexibility and a genuine willingness to contribute beyond his assigned duties. He is a responsible, motivated, and dependable individual with a true passion for service and learning. Logan has been very calm and respectful in the shared home. He was mindful of the common spaces, kept everything clean, and respected quiet hours in the evenings. He is easygoing and integrates himself easily. He adapted well to the circumstances, including having limited luxuries, and fully embraced the experience by joining other volunteers in after-work activities. We can only recommend him as a big and possitive asset to your organization!! :)

My time with Simone, her two children and numerous animals was thoroughly enjoyable and enriching! Simone is an impressive woman. In addition to her empathetic nature, she is knowledgeable and generous, which is evident in her interactions with others. Would you like to take a break from the hectic pace of city life? Would you like to share a cosy home and look after some absolutely adorable animals (you'll find half a zoo at Simone‘s place: from dogs and cats to two funny pigs and all the horses, who will be delighted to have your company!)? Come and visit Simone, her family and her four-legged friends (or rather family members – it's amazing what the animals get to enjoy here!)! Dear Simone, Thank you for your time, your patience and the opportunities you offer people here. I look forward to seeing you all again in the future! See you soon

I spent 1 month in El Kelaa teaching English as the first American volunteer the center has had and it was just incredible. (I said goodbye in tears!!) Hassan, Abderrahim, and all the other teachers and staff at the center are so passionate, kind, and supportive, and the students are so lovely and hardworking. Thank you for the amazing memories and for sharing so much beautiful culture with me :)

Daniel was a pleasure to have at our project. He is an amazing worker; kind of like a quiet little elf getting so much accomplished behind the scenes and you don’t even know it’s happening! 😀 Daniel is able-bodied and strong. From our experience he appreciated company, good conversation, family gatherings, and time with other volunteers but also was happy to have time to himself appreciating nature and the mountain around us. Daniel is a very kind, well-rounded, and talented individual who loves to help others. He fit right in with our family, albeit at a very busy time where our energy was devised amongst a lot of things. But he was there to support each of us as we needed him. He put his attentive hospitality skills to work in the kitchen during an event we offered, he helped with multiple tasks on the grounds with our trails, trees, plants and compost. The glass mosaic art project he set up and supported is on was a dream come true! Without his patience, cleverness, creativity and determination we would not have been so successful. It was a joy to be able to repurpose the glass in such a beautiful way. Thank you for teaching us this process and new skill Daniel. We wish you the Best!

Living with Kristy and the boys is not just a cultural exchange; it truly feels like being part of the family every single day and on every occasion. It has been an absolutely perfect first experience, and that is all thanks to Kristy—her availability, organisation, and daily kindness. Life there is always dynamic: every day is different, and weekends, especially with games, can be quite intense, so it is essential to have everything planned in advance. During the week, I usually worked 2/3 mornings per week, which meant waking up early and getting the boys ready for school. They usually get home around 3 pm, so in the meantime I would take care of my own things or help Kristy with household chores or pickups. If you are willing to help even when you are not asked, simply to make things easier, and at the same time experience a true American lifestyle, I believe this is the perfect choice to make. Thanks again to Kristy and her wonderful boys!

Alex and Claire are wonderful people and great hosts! I stayed three weeks with them and five other volunteers, harvesting olives. Claire was organized and clearly communicated details and expectations, which made the stay go smoothly. She also makes an effort to match volunteers into compatible teams - which worked really well. Her and Alex have a lot of knowledge to share about Greek history and culture, which made for a really valuable cultural exchange. Alex is a joy to work with in the fields. The work is physical and can be challenging, but he adapts well to the needs of the team, and our talks over coffee and lunch were the highlight of my stay. Had an absolute blast. Thank you for everything!!

We enjoyed every minute of James’s help, company, energy, conversation, and enthusiasm for life. James was a very good worker and extremely flexible on the tasks we asked him to perform. He really was amazing support in our community work and group building projects we were participating in at the time. He was not afraid to jump in to help even if it meant using a lot of gestures, eye contact and charades to communicate past the language barrier that existed with our Spanish speaking neighbors. He put in a lot of work and effort into power washing for us and we quickly noticed he is happy to say Yes to everything. We shared some really meaningful conversations and he has offered very uplifting and inspiring perspectives on life. We appreciate the time James spent with us!

We had such a wonderful experience staying with Torben and Lotte during the month of October. The work on the farm was both meaningful and enjoyable, the accommodations were stellar, and Torben, Lotte, and Annette were truly a joy to spend time with and learn from. We immediately felt at home here, and we had a hard time leaving this beautiful place! We cannot say enough how much we enjoyed our time here, and we could not recommend this workaway experience more.

Berenika has been here at our place for a little more than 5 weeks, and it has been absolutely fantastic to have her here. So helpful in every way, and with so many skills. Cooking the best meals, taking care of the house, sorted my books, helping in the garden and much much more. It also turned out that Berenika has skills in woodchopping and to take down trees. We took down a 25 m high pinetree together and I could see that using chainsaw, axe and other tools was no problem for her. We have also had many jouful moments, celebrating both hers and my birthday. I will miss you dear Berenika. All the best.

My time with Anne & Moriz was really valuable to me. It was my very first Workaway experience, which I found quite spontaneously, so I was even more grateful that they welcomed me so quickly and easily. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. Together with Valentin and two other Workawayers, we built a really cool stone wall, which I honestly loved doing. Can’t wait to built my own DIY walls some day! 😎 Alongside my laptop work, it was a perfect break to do some manual work and helped me clear my mind. 😋 My absolute highlight was the sweet dog Nelly, who got plenty of cuddle time from me. And of course, I can’t forget Anne’s unbelievably delicious meals! Thank you so much for the great experience and for trusting me!

Oday and Vija were both very chilled. They welcomed me to the hostel family very easy and I kind of went with the flow. I was teaching once sometimes 2 times a day according to the occupation that day. I had always nice room and kitchen access to make my own meal. I recommend the place for any new workaway guys who are lookong for more free time. Thank you!
