This was a lovely experience. I didn't work much with Caroline but with her parents, brother and cousin and they were all really lovely. They were very warm, welcoming and accommodating and it was a pleasure to get to learn from them and about them. The accommodation was amazing with a big room, access to a kitchen, bathroom, sitting area outside and lots of dogs to play with. Communication about the work, expectations and planning of it is the only thing I would have liked a bit clearer but everything worked out so there wasn't any problem really. Highly recommend!

Anya was very good at looking after my furry family and home. Nothing was too much trouble.

Edwin stayed with us for one week in November. He is a wonderful person, always in a good mood , very polite and hard working. He is a professional painter and his work is outstanding. Rarely, do you find someone with such high morals and standards. We stayed in contact after he left and we are proud to call him our friend now. You are very lucky if Edwin wants to come to you.

Lis and the family are wonderful hosts. This was my first experience as a workawayer and I was received in a peaceful and helpful environment. Lis did everything she could to make me feel home and to be sure I had everything I needed. The private accomodations are very nice and the family really respect your privacy. Concerning the tasks, they will keep you busy for a few hours, so if you have a car or love bus rides you will be able to explore the area of New Plymouth. I mostly had to cook, clean the dishes, did a bit of gardening and some play times with Adeline who is absolutely adorable. I had a very good time staying in New Plymouth with the family and I really want to meet up with them again when I'll be in the area. So if you want to visit the Taranaki region and have a stay with a wonderful family just go on and send a message to Lis, you will not regret it :)

Zeke is a friendly, polite and well travelled young man. He treated our home with respect and appreciation. He had very realistic expectations regarding the Danish weather in late autumn and did not mind the occasional light rain. And he made the most of his stay, we gave him a lift to Flensburg and to local second hand shops. He brought back lovely fotos from his walks or bike rides, which he shared with us. He is definitely used to more cuddly cats than our three divas, who felt a little overwhelmed, since they had only known him for a short time.😉 He helped me a lot during his short stay, e.g. went back and forth for hours with a wheelbarrow spreading the muck on the field -when I mucked out the first of the sheep’s little houses- setting up temporary paddock fences together, helped with carrying furniture, raking leaves and getting hay bales from a local farmer. Thanks a lot. We can definitely recommend Zeke as a Workawayer!

Agnes has been an absolute sunshine in our house! From day one, her laughter filled the home and she genuinely brought so much happiness to our whole family. She is one of those naturally “solar” people who spread good energy without even trying. She connected with our daugthers instantly, shared so many laughs, inside jokes, and special moments, and created memories that will stay with all of us for a long time, as the "girls night" for example. The girls adore her, and that says everything. She is incredibly easy-going, grounded, cheerful, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was daily routines, activities with the girls, or just being part of family life, everything felt easy and fluid with her. It was also very easy to communicate and balance with her, Agnes just brings positive vibe wherever she goes. Having Agnes with us has been a real gift, and she will always be welcome in our home as a guest! And any family would be incredibly lucky to host her. We can’t recommend her enough!

Emma and Felix came to help us during olives harvesting. They are really sweet and easy going people who happened to be always ready and enthusiastic with any tasks we asked them. Emma's cheerfulness is contagious and Felix's love for animals is heartwarming ❤️ We were really happy to have them here and would be glad if they ever want to come back!

Marie Noelle was a welcoming, attentive host who made sure I did not go hungry! The accommodation was simple, and I think my experience was a little different to previous workawayers as we were staying in the village and I had a room in the top floor of the apartment we were renovating. The main work for this visit was renovations which I had no experience with, so I didn’t even know what I didn’t know! I’m grateful for the things I’ve learned and what was explained to me, and enjoyed working alongside Marie Noelle and Timo. Marie Noelle was generous with her knowledge of breathing and meditation and shared stories of some of her adventures which I really enjoyed and appreciated. The area itself is fantastic, a very special village tucked away in the mountains but with a good bus connection to several interesting villages and lots of good walks nearby. Qibi the dog is a great walking companion and at times a guide on the paths if you’re not sure! Being up in the mountains, the internet connection was irregular and there was no wifi.

A super volunteer and truely wonderful person, Janila leant her hand and expertise to every task imaginable. She worked consistently and thoroughly, is very responsible and conscientious and completed all jobs that were going. It is her very essence though, that is her legacy at this place. She always had a kind word to say to everyone, was real and authentic at all times and spoke in poetry more often than not. She will be remembered especially for this last, as she entertained us for hours around the fiire (and in the car) with poems she seemed to draw out of thin air. Highly recommended!!

Grace is a five stars volunteer from the beginning to the end. She understood the tasks immediately and never had a problem with them. Always happy always ready to help. Definitely a lovely volunteer.

When I arrived at Iara's I became speechless. The property, that is entirely surrounded by nature, guarded by a beautiful mountain at the back has an unique energy, Wich it's going to change the view of life you have. As you're in the middle of nature, is relatively hard to get wi-fi but that's itself a huge advantage if you look to avoid screen time. Here I found a welcoming and sharing space, with all the dogs and cats always around, walking the paths along with you, keeping company. Iara is also a spectacular host, it's so nice to have the opportunity to exchange multiple languages, to learn from her skills and her way of live. If you're looking for a place to colaborate, I'm sure you'll find that this opportunity it's HUGE! I planned to stay just for 15 days and I ended being there a whole month. It was awesome!

I volunteered for three months during the summer of 2025, working at the hostel reception, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. I had the chance to meet amazing people, everyone was incredibly friendly and always willing to help whenever needed. At the same time, I was working part-time and studying Arabic, and the entire staff was very supportive, especially with my Arabic learning process. A special shout-out to Firas, Yulia, Abed, Sara, and Raed, as well as the restaurant and cleaning staff. Thank you all for making this experience so special. I will definitely visit again soon, inshallah.

I spent almost two weeks at Caroline's in August with my friend Nina and it was a truly memorable experience. Caroline is a very inspiring, positive and welcoming person who really puts her heart into what she is doing. I have never had an experience with indigo growing and dyeing and learning about it was both fascinating and educational. Her house is pulsing with art and creative spirit, her two dogs are amazing, very cuddly and loving. We also had the opportunity to attend a seminar led by Caroline for students, during which she explained the entire process of indigo cultivation, harvesting, drying, and dyeing. We spent lot of time in the garden, making space for her future project and cleaning it up, which was very relaxing and fun! I enjoyed our stay very much, and I wish Caroline all the best in her future projects!

Raul stayed here spontaneous for four days. He worked a lot, wasn't afraid for the cold and wet weather and he did all the work very well. He was interested in everything and we had an good exchange about cultural themes. He is friendly and he left the place very tidy. All the best for him!

It was a wonderful experience meeting Tom ,he is a jolly good guy🤗 I am glad that he took out some time to meet us. We had a good chat, shared some stories and experiences about his city and road trip to Norway 🇳🇴

I stayed with Max, Roxana and Camila around a weak in Arequipa. They were excellent hosts and really nice. I felt very welcome in the family and in their house. They give you the feeling of home and trust. Max did give me a lot of visiting suggestions in Arequipa. In their apartment (its in a very safe area) you have your own room. They invited me a lot of times for lunch and even breakfast. They also invited me one day for family meeting with their both parents. The mother of Max cooked a delicious peruvian food. I can not explain how thankful i am. I can totally recommend to stay with this family, it will be an awesome stay for you, they are really nice people!! The german classes are only 2 hours a day, so its really not difficult. And the classes should be tought in a playful way, so i often played Uno with Camila to learn the colors and numbers together in german. Its really a nice kind of "job", and its really a fun time to spend time with their daughter teaching a foreign language. They are awesome people, i can totally recommend this family and workaway opportunity.

Thomas and Marie were excellent workaways and great company. They were self-motivated and did a lot of work some of which will last a long time and keep them in my thoughts. They took great care of my dogs walking them on the beach an hour plus each time twice a day. It was good they were able to Tire my dogs out to make them easier for me to handle. We all cook together they contribute some great dishes. I had the best pasta carbonara I've had in my life. LOL. We learn to do some baking together and I've finally gotten to make bread pretty decently as a result of Marie's help. I think they enjoyed their time here took advantage of the things we had drove a motorboat paddle to paddle boat tried surfing and enjoyed the beach quite a bit. They are welcome back anytime and I would recommend them 100% to anybody else who needs help and some good company.

My time here with Laura and Alex was the best it could be. They were excellent workers, self-motivated and coming up with great ideas. They were able to think of things that I would not have thought of. Their work here was excellent but their company was even better. They came for 12 days and I feel like I've known them a lot longer than that. They immediately became part of the family, loving my dogs and my dogs loving them back. Long walk sunrise sunset tiring my dogs out so I can handle them easier. I really feel like Laura and Alex enjoyed themselves here took advantage of some of the things that I have to offer in the beach has to offer and I will miss them dearly as will my dogs Rio, Mac,and Molly. And of course we can't forget our mascot Pepe the parrot. They were excellent Cooks always willing to cook something new and willing to try out some new things too. Excellent workers, but most important for me they were a pleasure to have around and I would welcome them back anytime. Recommend them 100% to any work away host that needs good work and good company.

Shay and Zan was the best workawayers we could have wished for. Not only they are incredibly competent helpers, they are also truly wonderful peoples and it was a real pleasure spending time with them! They worked very independent, super motivated, and always think ahead. So skillful and organized! They left the house so clean and tidy when they go. The kids had so much fun with them too! We wish them all the best for the winter season in Kirchberg. Any host would be lucky to has them!

Thoroughly enjoyed having Clara and Eric come and stay with us. They were very respectful and interesting to talk to. They both worked very hard and completed all the work that we want them to do whilst they stayed with us. I would definitely recommend taking these guys on and would like to host them again another time
