We stayed with Nic and Rob for a week (we wish it had been longer), and we can honestly say it’s been one of the highlights of our travels so far! As soon as we arrived Rob and Nic were so friendly, and made us feel right at home. They were very flexible in terms of the work required, and it was varied each day which kept it super fun and engaging. We helped build some steps, did general weeding/gardening, tinned up olive oil, and even did some various Christmas/craft things (the best!). More than just being a workaway experience, it was lovely to get to know Rob and Nic as people. They are so passionate about what they do, they are incredibly knowledgeable and have so much respect for the Spanish culture, and just generally have beautiful family values. We were more than spoilt with our beautiful little cabin, and we couldn’t recommend them enough. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Nic & Rob! Rosie & James

I spent two weeks with Shan. I met two other workawayers there. My stay with Shan was great. The work with Shan is not strictly scheduled. I could choose how much and when I wanted to work. It rained most of the time during my stay in Norway. The work alternated between indoors and outdoors. Outside, we brought soil to the garden, I weeded the flower beds, cleaned and sorted things, picked apples and peas, and finally mowed the lawn. Inside, I vacuumed, washed the sink, and we cooked a lot and tried Norwegian ingredients. It was perfect. Shan lives in a beautiful landscape, close to lakes, the sea, and various interesting places. Shan lent us a car so we could explore the more distant surroundings. Shan also lent me a bike, so it's possible to ride to the store (about 5 km) or go on a trip; there are also bike paths here. I am grateful for all the experiences I had and especially for the time spent with you. Thank you, Shane, Nico and Matteo.

La presenza di Talia è stata molto piacevole: sempre di buon umore, pronta a mettersi in gioco e portare i lavori affidati a termine in tempi brevi. Impara velocemente. I momenti dei pasti intorno al tavolo sono stati veramente conviviali e hanno permesso grandi scambi nonostante le difficoltà linguistiche. Abbiamo anche apprezzato le sue competenze per insegnare l'uso del tornio di ceramica e anche la sua pazienza nonostante il freddo! L'aspettiamo questa estate per continuare a provare a realizzare tazze, vasi ...al caldo!

It was a dream I hoped for in the States and found in the French Alps. Gille is a man that lives with a strong passion for life and beauty, and has throughout his whole life. It was built as a passion project by the hands of many people that believed in its power of peace, a place of community deeply connected to nature and the mountains it is nestled in. It is a place of sharing, where you give your talents you will receive life in return. During my time here I converted the Van into a mobile retirement, adventure machine that I also had the immense pleasure of road tripping in all the way to Rome. I came as a Workawayer and left as a friend. Many people of different walks of life make their way here, but they all share the reverence for this place. An escape from the hustle bustle of the world, transporting back to a simpler time when we were more connected to what is real. I hiked every mountain I could, walking the same paths over adventures take through up the mountains (even taking a bike once). The village near by is the most beautiful I had encountered on my 3 month adventure through Europe (maybe not against Siena though). The hardest part of this being my first Workaway was the dry toilets, but I adapted quickly. I chose to sleep outside in one of the old barns and that was hard at first too (the wild pigs and door mice woke me sometimes) but later became a joy. Whenever I think back my heart is filled warmth for Gille, Luna, Thiébaut, Constance, and Tabia. It is a place I know I will return.

Ca a été un grand plaisir d'accueillir Gregory pour quelques jours autant au niveau relationnel qu'au niveau du travail qu'il a accompli avec sérieux et savoir faire. Je le recommande sans hésitation et aurai plaisir à l'accueillir de nouveau !

Elsa spent one month in our home. She was the youngest traveller I had hosted, so you could say I was apprehensive about her being so young. But Elsa exceeded all of my expectations and more. Elsa took the initiative and responsibility to book herself in for a driving lesson, to ensure she was safe and competent driving on the left hand side of the road. Elsa followed my many different instructions with ease, showed initiative and was very reliable. Elsa was happy to help in any way she could. And boy did she do this! Leo and Summer both got quite sick when she was with us, I simply wouldn’t have coped without her in that week. Elsa played particularly well with Leo, really getting down to his level and genuinely had a good time with him. Thanks for loving Leo like you did. Elsa became a friend. We enjoyed many chats over dinner, cheese platters and the occasional wine. Elsa is wise beyond her years. I know her family will be so happy to have her home. Elsa, you are welcome back to our home anytime. Thanks for the support and company. Take care and I can’t wait to watch your life unfold, exciting time for you! Xx

My time in Las Tunas with Sol on her Finca was a clear 10/10. She makes it very easy to feel comfortable, more so to feel at home. She has an open ear for everything and a whole life full of wisdom and experience to share. Plus: It is very easy to have fun, celebrate lightness of life with her and learn amazing recipes! I appreciate every second spent there. The work for me was just the right amount of physically exhausting and meditative. The animals on the finca all have big hearts and the setting to work with them has big potential for oneself. I had a mission there, and it was fulfilled with ease and grace. I learned beautiful things and also got to share some of my knowledge. I can’t wait to visit again.

Mi tiempo en Casa fue una bendición. Tanto José como todas las demás personas que forman parte de la fundación me hicieron sentir como en casa. No se puede expresar en palabras los agradables momentos compartidos, pero lo que sí puedo decir es que mi experiencia allí nunca quedará en el olvido. La cultura de la fundación, al igual que la gente y las vibras, son de las mejores. Mil gracias por los bonitos recuerdos y les deseo a todos multitudes de bendiciones. Tienen un amigazo en los estados!

My friends Judyta, Filip, Wilhelm, and I had the opportunity to be part of their family for a week. Our experience with Stefan and his family was incredible. We had an amazing space for the four of us, and we truly enjoyed working with them. I loved listening to Roi’s experiences and learning many new things about the history of the place. We also explored Tuscany, and during our free time we relaxed by the pool. We prepared our own meals using authentic Italian ingredients, and we enjoyed every moment. Their dogs were really sweet, and the piano in our room made us spend wonderful moments playing it. Thank you!

Review after 3 and a half weeks of woofing We spent three and a half weeks with Hernan. As a couple, we felt welcomed from the very first day. The atmosphere was always warm, respectful, and relaxed. I mainly worked on stone carving, which I truly enjoyed. The tasks were interesting, varied, and well suited to our abilities. We also appreciated the trust that was given to us. Communication with Hernan was always smooth, and we shared great moments outside of work, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The meals were excellent, and we loved the peaceful setting and surroundings. We highly recommend this woofing experience to anyone looking for something enriching, authentic, and meaningful. Thank you again, Hernan, for your warm welcome and these wonderful weeks!

I spent four beautiful weeks at the Finca. Matteo and Irene are wonderful hosts and manage to create a very familiar atmosphere. The work is physical, but not too hard. Tasks are clearly communicated and they try to give tasks according to everybody's strengths. We were mostly six carefully chose volunteers. So prepare to meet more beautiful people ;) Thanks again for this awesome experience!

Whilst I only had a short time to stay at Guajares Nature, I had a great experience here. Arriving straight into the excitement of a busy event, I could see straightaway what a special place this is for the local community and environment. Dan's values and passion for his project are clear within the space he has created. He truly cares for his volunteers and I enjoyed hearing all his perspectives on nature, community and life. I was really able to appreciate the importance of learning from the environment, and the value of social impact over economic or material wealth. The standard of living here is simple, the work flexible and all basics are provided. The project is full of opportunity and encouraging of everyone's potential. If you are at all artistic, there is plenty of room to create and innovate here. I'd love to come back with more time to contribute, but wish Dan and his lovely family all the best in the meantime:)

It's such a great place and even greater people❤️ Emma and Ben create their home really lovingly, sustainably and with a lot of care. They were always nice to explain tasks and what they expect from each small project, we also worked quite a lot together. Shared many great meals, cooked together, spent time with their two amazing kids!! Really special place, I appreciate it greatly. Best of luck, thank you!

Love springs from cats, yellow leaves, working the earth, gratefully harvesting his gift. Orange round cachi hanging on the roof, nourishing the wood with oil after a gentle scrub. Enjoying beeing with your self, as one of the infinite being on earth, one heart sharing this present moment. In the silent, in the stillness very actively doing. "Ora et Labora" path to serenity and peace humilityamd simplicity: freedom. Free from fear: there we are. Together. Thank you Francis, thank you cats to host me to accept me to help me. I arrived in Morocco a day before travelling to Lahcen's workaway in Smara, therefore my first experience of the moroccon or Saharawian culture was with Lahcen, his Language centre, his family, friends and the city of Smara. And it was nothing short of incredible, incredible hospitality, warmth, love, and generosity. We stayed at Lahcen's parents home, which is very comfortable and clean. His mum and sister generously made delicious Saharawian and Moroccon delicacies for us. We were 8 volunteers and all of us were made to feel exceptionally welcomed and well taken care of. The language centre is very well setup, with students of all ages, who are so eager to learn and again will treat you with utmost adoration. It was an absolute pleasure teaching the students who are so smart and ambitious and I loved getting know them. The teachers at the centre are really talented and so skilled. Lahcen has an exceptional gift of bringing people together and while the teaching is taken seriously, there is a lot of fun to be had. Lahcen and his friends were always very eager to show us around the town and take us to the desert, feed us delicioius food and take care of us as family. An exceptional experience that I would highly recommend. I cannot wait to be back! A special Thanks to all the volunteers as well.

A fantastic experience. The students are polite, interested, and eager to learn. My host, Jema, is a wonderful and reliable person. He's always there for you and takes care of you around the clock. The people in the village are also helpful and very hospitable.
