Emily and I had a fantastic experience with Jessica and her two lovely cats for about 5 weeks. The listing is exactly as described, and Jessica only asks for 12 hours of help per week, which leaves plenty of time to explore the surroundings of Perth. She encouraged us to explore and see as much as we could, and we were able to have such lovely experiences during our time there. The work was diverse and interesting, and it included helping clear up some sand and rocks at the front of the house, painting the front porch, drilling, loft exploring, cooking and baking for tea/dinner parties, learning the cool process of making sourdough bread from absolute scratch, assembling benches, clearing up the side garden, editing and providing feedback for personal projects and much more. We were able to cook and use the kitchen freely (although we did fall in love with the local Vietnamese bakery, highly recommend), we sat down and shared many interesting conversations together, and really built a solid relationship with Jessica and of course, the two lovely cats who enjoyed our company the more time passed. A really nice moment during our time came from a medical emergency that I had which required surgery, and Jessica took my recovery seriously and allowed me to wait until I was physically able to continue completing tasks, and she was mega flexible with allowing me to catch up on my hours. She showed a great deal of flexibility which allowed us to be as comfortable as possible, and she really made us feel like it was our home away from home. This was a great Workaway experience and we can't thank Jessica enough for welcoming us in, helping us to learn new life skills, introducing us to some awesome neighbours and friends and for generally being a delight to stay with. We are very grateful to have had this experience and we would highly recommend to anyone.

We contacted Yvonne on a short notice on our trip and stayed for a week doing yardwork, cleaning a railing and the cottage. Yvonne is lots of fun, she suggested to us many nice cultural and outdoor activities and took us out to listen to music and meet her friends. Great place and awesome host for our first workaway experience! We enjoyed our stay very much!

Dear Delia and Pablo. What wonderful and gentle souls to work with. They stayed at our farm for a month and the experience we shared was priceless. They are very committed and focussed people who took care of the place like it was their own home. A couple with honest and clear intentions to co create a beautiful world for everyone. Delia was very capable as a teacher. The children got empowered by her sense of ease and confidence as an educator. She is very creative with art projects that was very helpful for the kids. She along with Pablo were very helpful with the renovation tasks in the farm. They have an overall sense of how things work and are able to adapt and improvise which we really appreciate. We are grateful of what delia and Pablo gave us in such a short time. Their playfulness and simplicity really enhanced the space that they created. They have left us with a story so beautiful that will be felt and shared by everyone that comes after them. It was a pleasure to host them and we wish them a very beautiful future ahead. You guys are amazing. Take care🌸

Taisia and Chain are great hosts, I am so happy they hosted me and will miss them. She takes care of the restaurant (that's why the food is great) and general management, and he is an artist and responsible for the creative part. My stay in Taisia's garden exceeded my expectations, as I was a bit worried about staying in a tropical garden on an island that has limited facilities. In the end, it turned out that "no AC" (my biggest concern) was not a problem, as it's not hot, and even gets coldish at night. I stayed in both bungalows and in the tent as new volunteers were coming and I was shifted, and all three places were ok. The bungalow that is reserved for couples was luxury by the island's general standards ) I got bitten all over by sand flies, but not in the garden (on the beach), and Taisia treated my wounds with some local magic ointment ) There is electricity at all times, the shower is strong (but cold, but that's everywhere on the island). The garden is great and you have a chance to see how things grow (like, I saw a pineapple, I thought they grow in supermarkets), how compost works at different stages, how it turns into black earth and how that earth is then used to grow things. There's also lots of creative stuff to do, as there's wood, drift wood, shells and what not available in great quantities and waiting to be turned into something exciting. You are not allowed to help in the kitchen though ) There's four kitties, two orange ones need combing and they love it, and one needs cuddling. Don't hesitate to go, the itinerary from Bangkok was also quite simple, there are boats every half hour from Ranong, and the island is walkable from end to end, nothing is further away than 40 minutes by walking, and there are also tuktuks and motorbikes (no cars on the island). There's a surfing beach (15 minutes from Taisia's place) and other beaches within half hour by walking. Big thanks to Taisia and Chain for hosting me ) it was an exciting and memorable experience )

Pasé 4 dias a ordenar madera y bodega.

Luna and Florine were a delight to host. Hard working and fun and very clean and tidy around the house. They pitched in and helped with all sorts of farm work, cooking, gardening and cleaning around generally.

I spent 6 weeks with David this fall (Nov 22nd-Dec 8th) and had a really excellent time on the farm. The property is very conveniently located on the edge of Violet Town, and it's an easy walk to the train station, cafes, op shop and grocery store. It's really nice to not need a vehicle or to coordinate a pickup. I worked closely with David as I came up to speed on the various projects around the farm such as: pruning and felling trees with a chainsaw, beekeeping (including capturing a wild swarm!), planning and constructing a balustrate extension in the shed, caring for goats (I helped to deliver baby Waggles), constructing and installing a rainwater capture system, repairing the dam's pump float, mowing, wood chipping, painting/oiling wood, repairing olive grove irrigation, caring for chickens, weeding, mulching, harvesting, cooking, cleaning. It was a lot of work and usually ran from morning to night, but I was very glad to get a firsthand look at what it takes to keep a farm like this running. David is a great teacher and always took the time to explain things as we worked. He used to be a high school teacher before starting this farm, and it shows! I learned so much about permaculture during my stay. Having a fully functional example farm around me really helped solidify the concepts. The house has a very social atmosphere, and I loved spending time with my fellow volunteers, Eva, April, Fabio and Max. David took us along to a few community events during my stay and I was able to meet lots of people in the community. I was lucky enough to stay in the cob house which was comfortable and well designed so that it was always the right temperature. Showers were hot, laundry was easy, food was delicious and fresh. I definitely recommend this place to anyone with a strong worth ethic, interest in learning and the flexibility to adapt to a different way of living such as not using shampoo/conditioner and drinking captured rainwater.

Elisa and Luca were incredible workawayers with overflowing hearts, we thank you both for the priceless gift of love you brought from Italy to the children of Gomba District. Your bright smiles while teaching, the endless games that filled the compound with laughter and love. And especially those magical moments when Luca’s guitar turned simple songs into pure joy. The children still talk about you every day! Your warmth, patience, and boundless love wrapped each child in hope and happiness. You didn’t just visit; you lit up their world. Please, come again and let those little hearts sing with you once more. Keep spreading this beautiful light wherever you go. May the good Lord reward you abundantly for every smile and melody you gave the kids with deepest love and gratitude, thank you so much.

Robert was an really great workawayer - we have had many and he is top tier! It was great having Robert here for one month. We found him to be a good communicator, courteous, reliable, very helpful, and mature. He worked all the hours as agreed, and showed great self motivation to succeed at the tasks we needed help with. It was great spending time with him, and he is welcome back any time. If you have the chance to host Robert at your workaway, you will be glad you did!

Helping out at Lisa's and Rich's beautiful quinta has been our first workaway experience and it really set the bar high. Since this was our first time doing workaway we really appreciated that Lisa's and Richards expectations were communicated very openly and respectfully from the beginning. From the first day onward we started helping out with tasks around the land. Those reached from making compost, helping with the animals, mowing the lawn, filling a garden bed, installing a kitchen or helping out when going to the village. There is a wide range of different kinds of projects around the land so you'll never get bored. Lisa and Rich always regarded the weather conditions when deciding on the daily tasks. Our accommodation was very cozy, we can definitely recommend the caravan. We really appreciated that Rich and Lisa want to include you in their life. Wether it is watching Game Of Thrones in the evening (the food that Richard and Lisa cook is incredible 10/10, recommend ;)) to going to lunch with them or meeting their friends. We always felt very welcome in their house and had great chats over lunch and in the afternoon, they both have very interesting stories to share and have great humor, so it never gets boring. They also were very supportive of our weekend-plans and made sure to always give us a lift to the town nearby or the bus station. If we’re talking about the life at the Quinta, we can’t help but mention the loving animals. Wether it's the naughty piggies, the chickens or the dogs Leia and Bella, the cats Padme and Rosie and the cat-pretender Bobby ;) We fell in love and will miss all of them! We always had the feeling that we were as much appreciated by Lisa and Rich as we were grateful for them to host us and learned a lot about keeping animals and off-grid living in general. All in all we just want to say that Rich and Lisa are two incredibly warm hearted and kind people, who will make your workaway experience truly remarkable.

Nolle, true human being, very honest, very reliable. It is a great option if you are looking to have someone to not be chasing, or pushing to do task. It was a true pleasure having you at our goat farm and we hope to see you soon in the future again! Thank you for coming!

Max is incredibly amazing, full of energy, restless, curious, he surprised me every time there was something to do with wood to fix windows, electrical stuff, always with a bright smile. Very sensitive to the animal kingdom and the environment, his aura is full of harmonious empathy with everything and everyone. He likes to cook and does it very well, he enjoyed not only learning to work with horses and everything that entails, but also riding others horses along the beach and in the mountains. We planted lettuce, arugula, and some other things, and he also learned everything about (yoca) cassava, which is a delicious tuber. I also learned from him. Max is peace, balance, and equanimity. I will miss talking and analyzing life and things with him very much.

I stayed with Shelley for about a month, and it was truly a wonderful experience. She is very cheerful, loves talking, and we had many great conversations together. Since she enjoys Japanese food, we often shared meals as well! Time with her passed so quickly because it was always enjoyable. She took me to Niagara-on-the-Lake, a large market, and many other places my stay was very fulfilling. Although it takes about an hour from her home to downtown Toronto, I still had plenty of time to enjoy the city. Shelley is also very flexible with scheduling, so if you’re looking for a place to stay in Toronto, I highly recommend her! I was also happy to spend time with her lovely, kind, and adorable daughter. Even though my English is not perfect, Shelley always made an effort to understand me and communicate with me sincerely. Thank you so much, I hope we can meet again when you come to Japan:)
