Wow. My stay at David's community farm was so much more than I had expected. The description of the place is absolutely on point but you can only feel the true soul of the land if you have been there. Everything is taken care of with so much thoughtfullness and love. The work schedule is clear and everyone is cooperating such there is so much coherence between people. At the same time even with the 'hard conditions' the place is very comfortable. David provides everything you need including the food you wish for in life (fresh, organic, healthy and just very delicious because of everyones great international cooking skills). Even though work is a big part of the stay it feels like a retreat. Being and working in nature felt so good for my mind and my body. Also, doing this with so many interesting and cool people is just wonderful. Please visit this place, it's an absolute extraordinary experience. Thank you so much David!

Living at Tracy's farm with her trilion sweet animals was a lovely experience. The dogs are hectic but all very very sweet. Giving love is immediately answered with so much more love back. Tracy gave me a nice comfortable room and provided me with the food I love. A good experience in Mississippi and perfect if you want to combine it with a visit to New Orleans.

I spent two wonderful weeks at the Ashram this summer, and I couldn’t recommend a visit here more. From the moment I arrived it felt like home . Everyone was very warm, welcoming and helpful. Bryan organised the volunteering programme in a very considerate and thoughtful way which helped me feel quickly settled and clear on my role there. I worked on the farm with other volunteers who quickly became dear friends. The work was very well guided and structured by Gopal, who taught us a great deal about organic farming and life in general. I very much enjoyed the mornings spent under the Bavarian sun, working with the land and learning new skills. The food here is deeply nourishing and the meal times are a precious time for connection with the community. The Ashram is overlooking the Bavarian forest and there is a very accessible trail just a short walk down the road. I loved my time spent walking the land among the trees. I am so grateful for my stay here and to everyone who made it such a positive experience. I wish you all the very best as you continue in your practice and community and I hope to return again some day :) Thank you 💚 Leah

I volunteered for a month and was positively surprised. We prepared the hostel for Christmas and New Year’s Eve with a lot of baking, cooking, and social events. During the day, you have plenty of time to enjoy the garden, the dogs, the sun, the beach, and the surrounding towns. The couple are really nice, kind, and open-minded people. They patiently answered every question I had and cleared up any uncertainties that came up during my tasks. Thank you for hosting me and for sharing such nice memories and experiences. 🙂 I can highly recommend volunteering at their place if you want to experience the true Argentine lifestyle!

I stayed for five weeks at the finca of Kelly and JP, and it was a truly wonderful experience. Although it was a very busy and sometimes stressful period for them, with a few moments where things were challenging with the animals, they always remained positive, caring, and deeply committed to their responsibilities. Despite everything, they continued to provide all the animals with care. Kelly and JP were incredibly welcoming and warm-hearted, and I felt at home right away. We shared some lovely lunch breaks together, which made the experience even more special. Being surrounded by so many animals was a joy: the cats keep you great company in the house, the dog is energetic with beautiful eyes, and from my window I could see the horses, goats, sheep, and chickens. I stayed together with another Dutch girl, and it was very cosy. There was plenty of wood for making a fire and enough blankets to stay warm. I also rented a car, which gave me the freedom to explore the island. Overall, it was a memorable and enriching stay.

It was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to dedicate their trip to Vietnam to doing something meaningful for the local community. To add some useful information beyond what is already mentioned in other reviews: As stated in the profile, even those who have never taught before can do a good job if they are motivated, also thanks to the support of local volunteers (I say this as a professional teacher). If you have any skills other than English (dance, IT, etc.), it is possible to teach them after communicating this in advance. The hosts do their best to communicate promptly with volunteers, but they are often abroad, which can sometimes cause delays. The location is a few kilometers from Sa Pa and can be reached for very little money. The local volunteers are extremely helpful. My best wishes and congratulations on this wonderful project, and heartfelt thanks for this opportunity!

We stayed with Sharon for two months and it was a wonderful experience, immersed in the jungle and surrounded by so many kind and helpful people! Sharon is a very welcoming, open, and flexible person. She takes care of the place, a beautiful property filled with incredible plants, flowers, and animals, and she does so with joy and serenity. We highly recommend workawayers to stay here. You'll learn a lot about gardening, landscaping, and so much more. It will be an enriching and unforgettable experience!

Being on Sasha’s farm is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. From sleeping outdoors in the loving bamboo bungalows (the view is absolutely stunning), to getting to know Sasha and his family, working in a flexible way, and enjoying the hot springs — every part of it is special. Sasha is a very interesting man with a lot of knowledge, and I always felt safe, welcome, and well taken care of. I will never forget this experience for sure ♥️

I stayed with Jasmina and Nicolo for a month this past November/December and had a really fabulous time. They are both so kind and interesting. I stayed in a lovely room and ate like a queen. I also especially enjoyed the intuitive drawing we did together and all of our chats. The work was fun, mainly to do with the pigs, sheep and chickens (my personal favourite). While I was there two lambs were born too! It was quite muddy though, but Jasmina let me borrow clothes and wellies so it was no problem. On the weekends we sometimes went to Kraljevo to the market. If they would have me I would certainly love to stay again. Thank you!

I stayed one month helping out at the reception with two days training both shifts (morning and afternoon) with the lovely manager Dory. Pi Nong and her partner are also always available for questions, good conversations and tips. The accommodation is very basic and this is their concept entirely. Everyone is treated equally and that makes the experience really great. You work with locals that don't always speak well English so you meet half way and learn a lot (:

I have no words. We wanted to stay only two weeks, but ended up staying there for one month, so I guess that says all. It was one of the best experiences of my life, you cannot even imagine how amazing it was, regarding the english classes, the cultural exchange (we got to experience the local life like we would have never imagined) but most importantly the family itself. And yes, I can count them as my FAMILY because their kindness, generosity and simply positive lifestyle was just inspiring and their life full of joy. And when I´m writing about their angel of a daughter, the over a year old girl, I´m about to cry, because I´ve have never seen a more happy and calm and open baby than her. So yeah, I genuinely recommend you to join their project, if you want to teach english to the sweetest kids and teenagers on earth and experience the local javanese life with the kindest family!

Patricia joined me over the Christmas period facing the notorious Asturian winter. She is an exceptional human bieng, well grounded and tough as only the English can be. I really appreciated her help and our extended conversations. I can recommend her to any host.

It was delightful to have Nida in the farm. She is always positive and enthusiastic to learn new tasks and skills around the farm. She was ok being the only volunteer for a few days and was a great teammplayer when there was another couple volunteering as well. Nida has great attitude, pleasant personality, warm and well mannered. I would love to host her again in future and i believe you should strongly consider her too.

Demelza gave me a very warm welcome. You could ask her anything and she had great tips on things to do in the area (and a good music taste as well). I loved cooking with fresh ingredients from the market or her garden. My tasks were sanding furniture, painting the house, and weeding the farm. The property has a beautiful view with amazing sunsets. Demelza's dogs were so cute and playful. We had a lot of fun with them. All in all, I can highly recommend a stay with Demelza! Thank you for everything :)

We spent a total of four weeks with Pam in Galicia last October. First of all, it really has to be said that she and her son live in a very beautiful place in this world. The finca and the property were stunning, as was the surrounding area and all the lovely spots you could explore along the Rio Miño. During our stay, we slept in one of the two casitas, which was definitely a privilege, as it gave us a lot of privacy. In our case, however, many things were not as expected. For example, at the time of our application, the project description stated 3 hours of work per day / 5 days a week. In the end, it turned out to be closer to 6 hours per day / 5 days a week (2 p.m. to 8 p.m., including lunch and dinner). This came as a surprise to us. Additionally, on our days off we were expected to organize our own food after all. Another point was the work itself. We had expected more work around the house, such as helping in the garden, maintenance, etc. This was mostly the case for Franco. Justine, however, was almost always responsible for looking after Pam’s four-year-old son or preparing food. Her son is a very active and lively child who really enjoys having company while playing. However, he is also quite demanding and often preferred that someone watch him play rather than play together with him. This was often very draining for us. In our case, it was definitely important to agree on a schedule with Pam at the beginning in order to have a clearer overview of our working hours. We would recommend this, as we experienced that Pam would sometimes have us work a few extra hours at short notice. Communication in those situations was not always very good and tended to be rather tense, which led us to feel somewhat taken advantage of as volunteers. All of this led to the project not really being a good fit for us. Of course, this can be different for everyone. Nevertheless, thank you Pam for welcoming us during this time, and we wish you and your family all the best.
