It feels almost impossible to summarize my incredible stay with Amilia, Olaf and Kiljan. They welcomed me with open arms, which made it extremely easy for me to integrate into this kind and inspiring family. So many things happened during the last three and a half weeks, but on the other hand, the time passed by way too quickly. We had movie nights (thanks for making sure I caught up a bit on some classics), went on bouldering trips, baked a lot of delicious things, improvised music and dance sessions in the living room and so much more – something was going on all the time. Kiljan always did his best to make me tired in the evenings by playing endless rounds of his favourite game “chickenwing”. So I always fell into bed filled with happiness in the cosy tiny house. My work mostly consisted of tasks in the barn such as installing insulation materials in the walls and the ceiling, cutting and screwing OSB or gypsum elements. But Olaf always made sure that I didn’t get bored by mixing up my work, for example with some tasks in the forest. With his patient guidance I was able to learn many new skills. Amilia is such a kind person that it just feels so natural to sit next to her on the sofa and talk about everything. I will definitely try to bake Pepparkakor, Kanelbullar and saffron buns when I’m back home. To summarize, there was nothing during the three and a half weeks that I did not enjoy, and I’m super grateful to have had the pleasure of being a part of this family. I’m taking home many great memories, new skills in different fields and many aspects from interesting conversations to think about. If you, workawayer, have the opportunity to spend time at this wonderful place, grab it as fast as you can! There are many amazing projects planned for the future and I can guarantee that you will learn a lot during your stay. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and letting me be a part of your family!

Hola Guillermo!!

My time with Nazan and Arda and their many animals was truly incredible! ! They are such kind people who are generous with their knowledge and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to stay with them and learn about food, culture, farming and the beautiful country of Turkiye. The farm was breathtaking and I was lucky enough to join them for their harvest and early morning olive pressing. Every day was a new experience, and I learned about permaculture, how to care for and tend to olive trees, the history of the region, how to build a chicken coop(LOL) etc. I couldn't have asked for a better first workaway experience and I hope to come back soon! !

We spent a very pleasant three weeks with Sydney, Chris, and Greyson. We were there to help them with meal preparation, and we had dinner together every evening, so we were able to get to know each other! We shared many wonderful moments together, especially on the weekends. We got to visit lots of beautiful places with them, tried Canadian dishes, and discovered many great things. We stayed in a small, very comfortable cabin in the garden and had access to everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay — thank you for everything!

Susannah is such a bright shining light! She has come to stay 3 times and her energy is so calm and positive. She is always ready to help and doesn't need any instructions or motivation. She just knows what to do to help out. She has helped us build a mass heater (brick laying) she has sanded and cut metal nails to prepare beams. She is always cleaning up and has plenty of energy. She also looks after herself and knows when she needs quiet time, asked for what she needs and is clear and honest. I can't wait too see her again.

It was a real pleasure to have Francesco/Franz as a Workawayer. He has been of great help, showed interest in learning new things (olive harvesting :-), and some plumbing work). Franz has a very positive mindset and a good sense of humour! We also teached him a typical Dutch game: sjoelen (which he liked very much)!

Alina and Lawrence were fabulous hosts and made me feel at home, which is always a great feeling to have when you are a solo traveller travelling for months on end. They were fascinating people to talk to and Alina's meals were incredible and were always something I looked forward to, the work was engaging, particularly the harvest and the property was in a stunning location. I couldn't have imagined a better first Workaway experience. I hope to return soon.

I had a great experience staying with Sonia, Carlotta and the little dog Bambina. Sonia is super nice and very helpful - she showed me around and took me on an amazing hike. It was truly a pleasure to be a part of their little sweet family! :))

She was a wonderful Workawayer. Kind, discreet, and very respectful in our home. She adapted so well to our busy family life and was always up early and on time every day. She helped us so much and was very proactive, always seeing what needed to be done. We truly enjoyed having her with us and highly recommend her to any future host. Thank you so much !

Monty rode in from the east like a character in a western movie — even if he is an Australian Norwegian. He has a whole magical array of technical skills, which were sorely needed here in the Musée des Muses, such as electrics, plumbing, and the like, and so there was a backlog of things he was able to help me fix. He also has a fascinating back story which he shared, having done some work with Médecins Sans Frontières in exotic places around the world, often at great risk. He has recently just returned from keeping some of the hospitals in Gaza going under fire. So being here, helping to fix my stove adn lighting etc. was I guess a welcome relief to him. He’s a great chap and will bring his magical skill set to anywhere lucky enough to have him come visit. Thanks for coming!

This was my first Workaway experience, and it was absolutely beyond my expectations — truly amazing! During the two weeks I stayed, I helped with gardening, and Len always gave clear instructions and made sure I was safe. Toni’s food was incredible...... her choco mint balls, bacon soup, quiche, and banana bread are unforgettable… I miss them already! On days off, they even took me to explore places that you must see. :) Staying at their home, you’ll have a great private space, and you’ll often see wallabies, rabbits, and all kinds of beautiful birds visiting the garden. You can fully experience the peaceful nature surrounding their place. And if you’re lucky, you might even see the aurora from your room — I saw it three times (crazy, right?!) Len and Toni are such kind, humorous , and lovely people. I enjoyed conversations , the board games , and the dessert time… everything was just wonderful. Thank you so so much, Len and Toni ☺️ Hope to go back one day

If you are considering visiting New England, this is THE place to be. I stayed with Peter for two months, and it was as fun as it was educational. Peter and Marty are wealthy with knowledge and laughter, with the most generous hearts. The property is absolutely paradise, with a 100 mile view, endless trees, a private pond and private accommodations with a gorgeous main house ( wifi). 5 Hours of work 5 days a week, 9-2 when it's warmer and 10-3 when it's frosty. The work was varied as there is always something to do, big jobs and small. While I was there I sanded pine flooring, restored other wood projects with a sander, hauled wood, used a leafblower to pile up leaves and then hauled those to the leaf-compost on tarps, harvested from the garden, raised garden beds, prepped the garden for the winter, did online sales, cleaned an attic space and an airstream, really whatever was needed in the moment. You will gain confidence in your abilities, especially if you're hauling wood! During the week we had candlelight dinners together, It was so special to be able to eat straight from the garden, the salads have ruined all other salads for me forever! Also, being a solo female with my feline friend, I felt very safe from the start. I am eagerly awaiting my next visit!

Alicia is the best host I could have ever wished for. And the location? I can't use words to express how beautiful that place is. I was pet sitting and plan caring for Alicia, so I have only seen her for two days, but even those two days were sweet. her pets are amazing and I miss them. It was a pleasure to watch them. I loved the location because the place is just like my dream house - in the middle of the woods, beautiful interior. I liked that Alicia recycles as well. I was able to do so many hikes and visit all the cities around, like Santa Fe, Alberqueque or Taos. I recommend everyone to visit Taos Pueblo! Alicia, thank you. I couldn't have been more happier in that place and I am even considering this place again in the future.

Thank you for your comment on my profile; I'm happy I could be of help. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet you, for letting me into your home, and for entrusting me with your beautiful dog. Thank you for your kindness. Mason is a small but energetic dog who kept me busy on our walks, and then we'd sit and admire the scenery. I wish you God's blessings and much happiness.

A more cheerful person I don't think that I have ever met! Caitlin was all smiles, and ready to explore a different kind of life experience than she'd been used to. The first day (stacking wood) we held her hands to the fire and she drank a gallon of water. She had lived in Vermont and New England, but I think this was her first serious taste of real country life and the work required to homestead. Still, without a lot of experience, she rose to whatever was presented with a positive attitude and her personal best effort. Her ellusive cat, Tuna, was sited on the run only a few times in as many months, but is a fantastic mouser, so we hope they both come back to the Northeast.

Having Amelie with us for almost a month and a half was an absolute joy. She helped us so much during her stay, always stepping in with dedication, kindness, and a smile. We genuinely loved having her around — her presence made everything lighter and brighter. Thank you, Amelie, for all your help and for bringing so much humor into our lives. You made our days easier, happier, and a lot more fun. We’re truly grateful for the time we shared with you, and we hope you come back to visit us whenever you can.

Having Lisa around has been such a wonderful experience! She’s the kind of person who exudes maturity and positivity, always handling things independently with great self-discipline, and she’s so friendly too—every neighbor adores her. Lisa’s first week here coincided with non-stop rain, which made staying indoors boring and garden chores way more tough. But she never complained about the gloomy weather; instead, she kept a cheerful vibe and helped me tackle all sorts of garden tasks willingly. She’s really earnest when it comes to work: no matter what task we give her, she listens carefully to every detail and completes it with utmost attentiveness. For example, she helped us with painting, a job that definitely calls for tons of patience. She took it in stride, tackled every corner carefully, and finished it perfectly, leaving every surface smooth and neat. We even joined yoga sessions together, and she shared her expertise by leading two classes for us. Moreover, she’s a doctor. Getting access to medical care is quite difficult in our village, and she kindly helped answer some medical questions for a worker’s son, providing much-needed guidance and reassurance. Beyond her professional expertise in medicine, she’s also an amazing cook! The meals she prepares are absolutely delicious, and we all love them so much; every bite feels warm and satisfying. She’s such a joy to be with, and the neighbors are definitely going to miss her a lot.

Having Jelena with us for three weeks was truly a gift. Thanks to her, those weeks felt calm, balanced, and full of serenity. Even during our busiest, most chaotic days, Jelena had a wonderful way of bringing everything back to normal with her patience, her hard work, and her constant willingness to help with anything that needed to be done. We absolutely loved sharing these three weeks with her. Jelena is such a complete, genuine person, with a heart so big you can see it from miles away. We can only wish her the very best—and we really hope she comes back to visit us again as soon as she can.
