I couldn't ask for a better host to start off my workaway experience. Peter and Ann are a lovely and kind couple. And I've had great time working and sharing with them, and learning about olive harvest, the process of extraction at the mill, which I was really into. They shared all their knowledge about olives, bees, honey and also about birds, and even recommend to go see the flamingos and lots of migrantes birds that the area is known for, which was awesome. We've had great conversations and shared laughs all together with the other workawayers, around the delicious and comforting meals that Ann prepared, and was fun to have their dogs around (Lucy, Alba and Ozzie) ;) and play with them. I really appreciate their hospitality and generosity, and for making me feel welcomed. I'm really grateful that I have met them; all the love and respect <3 I highly recommend.

Adrian & Shanice – Absolutely Outstanding Volunteers! We had the great pleasure of hosting Adrian and Shanice as our very first Workaway couple, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment they arrived, they brought positivity, openness, and a wonderful spirit of exchange. They were curious and eager to immerse themselves in India—its culture, food, daily life, and stories. We enjoyed so many deep, thoughtful conversations together and also plenty of laughs. They struck the perfect balance between being respectful and being fun-loving. Their work ethic was exceptional. They tackled every task with focus and enthusiasm, and the workbench they built in our garage is simply outstanding—built with care, skill, and long-term usability in mind. We will remember them every time we use it! Always helpful, always kind, and always eager to contribute, Adrian and Shanice brought a sense of teamwork and reciprocity that we deeply appreciated. They blended seamlessly into our rhythms and still managed to bring new energy and creativity into our space. We are incredibly grateful for the time we shared with them and highly recommend them to any future hosts. Our doors are always open, and we hope our paths cross again—whether in India, Germany, or somewhere unexpected along the way! Thank you, Adrian and Shanice — you set the bar very high! 👏🌍✨

We stayed with Delphine and Mattia for 13 days during the olive harvesting season in mid-late October. The days when we would be harvesting olives would be a full days work. In your free time you can explore the local area and town of Amelia. It's a very charming and peaceful town and it's also possible to visit Rome on your day off. The family have a very holistic and organic lifestyle and a massive appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. Outside of the Olive season there's still lots of things to be keeping busy with in and around the property and land. The children, Enke and Numa are boisterous and full of energy. The two dogs, Gino and Kora are absolutely gorgeous and very affectionate beautiful pets. They love long walks and are always playing with each other! Overall, Delphine and Mattia are very friendly and you can learn a lot about organic cultivation and holistic living during your time there. Many thanks for the olive oil! It's the best oil we've ever tasted!

Michael stayed with us for 3 weeks. He was an easy house guest, kept his area tidy and was respectful at all times. Michael was always eager to help out whenever needed and completed all tasks as requested. I highly recommend him as a workawayer. Wishing you all the best on your travels Michael.

Dear Sascha, Eric, Simone, and Simon, Thank you so much for hosting me. My heart is full from all your warmth, kindness, and the beautiful memories of your home. Up on the hill, the lovely house sits just 15 minutes from the nearest bus stop. From there, I could wake up to the sunrise and, later in the day, watch the sun set—such a gift. There were many different tasks to learn, and Eric and Sascha always taught me with such patience and care. I’m truly grateful to understand not only how you worked, but also the reasons behind your daily routines. Even though my French is still at a beginner level, Simone was always patient and tried her best to chat with me. I already miss playing Jenga with her. I am forever grateful for this experience and hope to see you all again :) Itadakimasu 🙏🏼 With love, Ai

We wanted to share a little bit about our amazing six months with Nynke and Jasper in Norway. We are very thankful for everything. They didn't just host us; they basically opened the doors to their lives, and made us feel completely at home right away. We learned a ton of new skills, and definitely worked hard over the six months, but it was always a good time. The work was very diverse, including assisting with every step of the cheese-making process, cheese storage, and packaging, working the summer in their farm shop&pizzeria (making the best wood oven pizza), and carrying out various maintenance tasks around the farm. A standout aspect was the trust placed in us, allowing us to work independently. Nynke and Jasper were genuinely eager to ensure we enjoyed the work and adapted the focus to things we were specifically interested in whenever possible. The cabin we stayed in was just perfect, equipped with everything you need, and having access to a car for grocery shopping and exploring the area was a great bonus. It was a real pleasure to work alongside them, and learn from them. We feel extremely grateful for this unforgettable experience. Thank you both!!

This was our first Workaway in Italy and Pepe and Francesca were the perfect hosts! We were based on their mountain vineyard in Forio, Ischia. The views were absolutely breathtaking and you could look right out into the bay of Naples and watch stunning sunsets. As you're based atop a mountain there is 30 minute walk from the base to the top, something that we didn't mind as it helped us work off the food from Pepe's fantastic cooking! A car/motorcycle could be recommended but only if you have vast experience of driving in Europe and up steep winding narrow roads. As far as the general day to day duties were concerned we were helping Pepe mainly on whatever projects he was currently undertaking. These varied from cultivating the land, general upkeep of furniture and maintenance/cleaning of the land and property. We even assisted in building the foundations of a treehouse! Pepe is great fun to work with and although some duties were sometimes physically strenuous you will be assigned work based on your own personal strengths. 'you think it's simple then you realise it's not simple' 😉 The family are so lovely and it's a very authentic Italian experience. Nonna Bianca taught us a new card game and is a fantastic cook, the two girls are very polite, respectful and eager to learn and share their own travel stories. Francesca is so funny and a bundle of excitement and joy and Pepe even invited me to play football with his local team which was a great experience. Not to mention all the lovely pets! Mimi is a beautiful affectionate family dog and the cats Steve and Bruna will keep you company on the mountain. Overall, if you're looking for an authentic Italian experience on a mountain vineyard/farm with the most beautiful family this is perfect. We cannot recommended them enough and I cannot wait to visit them again. Forza Real Forio!

OMG ! Ffi & Marc ! We're already missing you guys and it will last until you're back ! It was a pleasure to have them in our team/family for few weeks ! Unfortunately it was too short, we would like them to stay so much longer ! Ffi&Marc are, by far, the friendliest and most social volunteers we had here ! Always smiling, always giving a super warm welcoming to new guests and volunteers. You can feel that they don't force nothing about it, they are really a couple full of kindness ! About the work, they're super fast learner which is our main expectation ! They allowed us to relax and be 100% confident during their shifts ! They know how to run a hostel for sure ! And they are super social, it is obvious ! They're really good to connect with people and federate gangs for activities together ! Obviously they'll always be welcome back here, they found a home away from home but we found new family's members for real ! To others hosts : Go for Marc&Ffi without any doubts ! You'll love them ! We love you ! Please come back as soon as possible !

I had a fantastic time here. The work schedule was really well communicated, Cami, Carlos and all of the staff were really welcoming, and the place itself is beautiful! I really enjoyed the language exchange activity they host as well. Thanks so much, you made a great experience for me & the other volunteers :)

Ghadeer was a wonderful volunteer! She was helpful, kind, and a positive presence in our home. She was eager to learn and a quick helper with all the tasks we gave her. We wish her all the best in her future travels and would welcome her back anytime!

My 2 months at Qué Más with Chris have been truly amazing. He really is a chill guy and we came along very good. It was easy to find a good balance between working (on different projects, developing and learning new skills), as well as having much time to develop and work on myself. Also it was amazing to see the already nice place become better poco a poco. He encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone every once in a while, and I can recommend the place for everybody that is open to do a variety of tasks, while having the freedom to have some hours everyday to work on oneself. It was an amazing time where Chris made it hard to find open wishes that couldn’t be transformed into reality.

Christina is a lovely guest! very much i enjoyed to share some space and time with her. she is very helpful, creative, has ideas into MANY directions, is responsible for the most beautiful fridge on the island (that she painted), made a very good job in the garden: stone decoration and planting, even she did the most dirty work (.......) that i do not ask the ladies to do, but she did it without been asked before i started to think about it ( i confess that i may be late sometimes). she showed me some of her art that consists of several sub genres! i found it quite amazing- so if anybody is looking for a super talented artist- that's her!!!

Eri is so kind and calm, such a nice person to have around. Eri was supposed to stay with me for a week but ended up staying for a month, and I enjoyed it so much and my two cats loved her too. We had good conversations, spend a lot of time together doing different tasks, watching films, cooking and cleaning - just normal every day life. My home feels very empty now that Eri has left. Thank you Eri, I wish to see you again soon! :)

we really enjoyed the company of this couple. It was a joy to have them around. We hardly had to ask them doing things, they had already seen it and started doing it, although the weather was very inclement. They were with us for 10 days together with other helpers and it for made a very harmonious and pleasant time and at the same time we got a whole lot done. At the end we were sorry to see them go, wishing them both the best for their future life and travels.

We spent three weeks with Fabienne and Kabire. During that time, we mainly worked in the garden but also took on a couple of tasks in the house. Fabienne and Kabire are very nice and friendly people with whom we had great conversations and were able to exchange about our cultures. We had a wonderful time and wish them both all the best.

This is such a beautiful place, exceeded my expectations! I was taking Spanish classes and my volunteer hours were for photography. I stayed for 2 weeks. This photo volunteer program is really self guided in terms of how you spend your hours, there is no strict schedule, but working around my Spanish classes, and the many activities run here, I found this system worked well for me. The 1 on 1 Spanish classes are so good. A really refreshing and engaging style of teaching, I was able to learn more grammar but also have conversations about topics i'm actually interested in. All the teachers are great and bring their own personality and flavor to the classes. The owners Jesse & Carlos are super super sweet people, dedicated to making this place and the experience for students/volunteers/guests as easy and comfortable as possible. All the staff here are so lovely, always willing to help or answer questions. The food in the restaurant is really tasty, but I did find that for me, the portions were a little small. I adjusted to this after the first week, and also bought myself some snacks to supplement. I swam in the river every day, did my own yoga, walked around the local area and thoroughly enjoyed my free time here. One thing to note, depending on what room you are placed in, you may not have access to a hot shower. If I needed it, I just asked one of the Volunteers in another room if I could use their hot shower, no problem. Would highly recommend!

I honestly don't know where to start. My boyfriend and I left another Workaway in Thailand after having a bit of a bad experience and took a risk on an expensive flight to Chiang Rai to volunteer at a hostel. Two weeks later and we are crying on the next leg of our travels, wishing we could have stayed for longer! We are already planning our trip back. This hostel is amazing. If you're lucky enough to get a volunteering spot here, go! Some things I love about the hostel: 1. The chill, social vibe. You're on shift for 5 hours, either morning, afternoon or evening. You actually work for about two hours (hanging up laundry, check ins, emptying trash, making beds and checking soap / shampoo supplies, organising day trips) and then the other three you're just chilling, chatting in the garden getting to know people from all over the world! 2. OMG the beds! They are SO comfortable, the sheets are so soft and the volunteer dorm is so clean, has lockers, shelves and privacy curtains. It's so cozy. Perfect place to escape if you need to recharge your social battery for a bit! 3. The evening activities! Every night it's some form of game or activity or trip to the reggae bar (but never pressure to drink). I was laughing every night and always getting to know new people. My favourite was definitely the social bingo! Most of all, we had the most magical experience. The "social but not party" vibe is perfect and hits the best balance. We met people from Iceland to Venezuela, saw so much of Chiang Rai, and even watched the sunrise on a mountain looking over Laos. The guests, other volunteers, V and Kanoon (and of course Natthida, Luma and Lucy) are really what make the place what it is. I feel like I have a home away from home, where I will be welcomed with open arms, always. I am so grateful for this amazing experience. Thank you guys, we will see you again ❤️
