I (Max) had a great time (Karo came later) on the farm and could help Sophia and Michalis with a lot of construction projects. We enjoyed their uncomplicated way and the time together with the kids and animals. We felt in love with the beautiful island and the nature.

I had a really great time during my Workaway stay. Everything was relaxed, with a steady routine that quickly felt familiar. We did a lot of things together, but there was also plenty of free time, we never had to work too much, and we didn’t work on weekends at all, which made the whole experience very chill. Jean-Luc is a very pleasant and enthusiastic person, and he makes sure Workawayers are never alone, which I really appreciated. What stood out the most is how much effort he puts into showing you the area. He takes you to many different places, always eager to share the surroundings and local spots, which makes the stay feel extra special. Overall, a very positive experience. Definitely recommended!

Zuzana came to spend about 20 days at the farm. She quickly became involved in daily life and the work. I felt completely confident letting her take charge of organizing the work: she was a great help ! We had some very interesting and engaging discussions. Zuzana is an open-minded person, and everyone we met during the stay appreciated her and kept a nice memory. I highly recommend Zuzana!

I did my first workaway experience at Ally and Mick's family farm during my university break year, and it was a human, rewarding powerful experience ! As a French girl living in Quebec, my objective was to learn English, and all the family were very understanding and helpful with me. I went to his farm for Novembre. With two other workawayers that i met, we helped Mick with his three nurse, and also the family with different projects (for example : building a fence for Lili (the little horse), or cooking a lot of appelsauce !!). During all the trip, we were greeted very warmly, and we really felt like part of their family, such as for the incredibly good lunchtime cooked by Ally. The cottage where we lived is very calm, soothing and each person can find his safe place. There are a lot of hikes and trails close to the house, with a beautiful lake. I recommended this Workaway, and I hope to be able to come back one day :)

Gilly was an absolute gem and pleasure for us to meet. She has to be the most caring, thoughtful and genuine person we have ever met. Her positive attitude in life is almost like her superpower. She is trustworthy and a woman of her word. She took on a lot with our caretaking position and stayed on our ranch for 5 months. She had 2 people as support for her, which proved to be very needed as she didn’t have her own transportation and with the summer storms the road required a 4x4. The desert is hot especially during the summer months and running a little farm can be very demanding. The rancho is quite rustic with no air conditioning and most people wouldn’t be able to handle it like she did. Luckily, this summer we had lots of rain! So, it gave her 2 ½ months of not having to water the gardens on the property, which was a much-needed break from the workload. We have irrigation systems for over half the gardens making it quite easy and our training to her suggested every 5 days to water the rest by hand. She decided to come up with her own system of watering which worked better for her. She lovingly cared for our 3 dogs, cat and flock of chickens very well and kept up with their homemade food too. Given her lack of experience with off-grid rancho living, she certainly did her best and we are forever grateful and welcome her back anytime with open arms.

I had a really good time in Iquitos. Originally I had planned to stay for 3 weeks but ended up extending another week because I really enjoyed the company of the host family, the time with the kids, but also Iquitos itself is super special! The first impression was of the host family - I was picked up by José at the airport and within matters the entire parking lot was yelling my name and helping me find José - I immediately felt welcomed. Then there is Berta (the mother) who takes super good care of you and also makes breakfast the 6 days of the week - though I have been 4 weeks, I have never even once had the same breakfast and everyday it was very delish! The rest of the family - daughters, sons and also the family of one of the brothers all make you feel welcome and interact with you daily. With some of them we also spent time going out during the weekends which was usually fun! Then to the school - the kids are amazing! I came without any experience in teaching or tutoring, but still felt like I could help out and leave an impact. There were times where I was a bit overwhelmed because three boys from the secondary school can have a lot of energy, but then Estefy (one of the employees) or one of the other volunteers was always willing to help out and we managed it together. So I never felt like I was alone. I was mostly doing the sports classes, helping with English and then of course help with the homework where I really got to brush up on my secondary school math. So overall, it was just a really fruitful time for me and what made it the most special is how kind and open the kids are - you are there only for a short time, but interacting with them, trying different ways to keep them engaged, playing with them in the breaks - this is really what makes this place special and the time so wonderful. I remember one day where we were in the Supermarket in the mall and suddenly I heard "Profe" yelling and got a hug from the side - it was one of the kids and even though I had just been there for about a week at that point, he was so happy to see us all. This interaction definetely made my day and is still putting a smile on my face. There were many more good memories and I will surely miss the kids dearly! Thank you so much for sharing this place and your home with me for the 4 weeks. All the best to the place in the future! :)

I stayed for two weeks on the farm. It was so nice and I made lifetime experiences. You could always talk to Sophia and she fully included us into her family. I stayed with Marleen on the farm, who I didn’t know before. But we became great friends. I loved working with the animals especially with the donkeys. It’s so great to just go for a walk with one of the donkeys. We also did some small jobs on the fence and looked after the children. We also helped with the olive harvest and we even got the opportunity to visit the oil press. I loved the stay and would like to visit again some time :)

I have spent two weeks on Jean-Luc's farm and can only recommend this Workaway! :) Jean-Luc is a very kind and friendly host and makes the experience very enjoyable and enriching. Prior to the arrival, the communication from Jean-Luc's side was very fast and clear. Jean-Luc provided me with all necessary info, connected me with my Workaway-buddy and just generally made the arrival as comfortable as possible. He even picked me up in the evening from a bus stop in Brive after my train was suddenly cancelled! Jean-Luc includes the volunteers in his everyday life so the days start with a trip to a nearby town for a pastry and a coffee in a local coffee shop where we would often meet Jean-Luc's friends who are all very kind people. After, we would go back to the farm for a lunch and start working. The work takes place only on weekdays and was very manageable and fun. I was a bit limited during my stay due to job hunting and Jean-Luc would be very flexible with the amount and timings of work. The farm is located in a beautiful countryside surrounded by stunning trees (!) and magical little French villages and towns. On the weekends, Jean-Luc would always try to show us the area. However, he always consulted with us what our preferred plan was and some days we would just chill at the farm :). Jean-Luc was also very open for a French practice and made great crepes!! In sum, I definitely recommend this Workaway :).

Silke stayed at the farm for 2 weeks, She has been immediately at the rhythm of the life and the work. She is a very easy going person, at the beginning a bit shy but quickly active and participate person. She handled easily all tasks, even the not very funniest like putting plaster on the walls. She is really resourcful some and understand very quickly. It was very helpful to have someone quickly autonomous for me. For the daily life, Silke participated at every thing and we could really experiment a collective behaviour with the other person during the stay. For a help on your project, I warmly recommend Silke !

I came to Viv’s place straight from another Workaway, and it turned out to be a very new and different experience. I’m really grateful to have met such a hardworking, kind family. I don’t have much experience with kids, but I was eager to help out and spend most of the day playing with them (even though I’m quite introverted, haha). Communication was great from the very beginning, and we also had occasional free time, which was perfect for exploring Miaoli. Vulcan and Remi are incredibly intelligent and communicate in English extremely well for their age. It was a bit challenging at first to keep them engaged and build trust, but over time they really warm up to you, so I recommend staying a bit longer if you can. The house is beautiful, and Ida is lovely too. I also made wonderful friends with Ester and Milan, so I never felt alone during my stay. Vivienne is super nice, always willing to help with anything, and she really is a super mum. Overall, I’m very thankful for this experience. ❤️

¡Hola! Patricia is kind, generous, full of wisdom and a great laugh. She has created a beautiful space up in the mountains of Andalucía, with just a short walk down to the town, where I stayed for just under two weeks. She has a unique and deep knowledge of crystals, herbs and yoga - of which I was only able to scratch the surface during my short stay. The cabin I stayed in was very comfortable, with a compost toilet and solar powered shower nearby along with a little outdoor kitchen equipped with everything I needed. Patricia was also kind enough to lend me the use of a guitar and as many books as I could read, with which I would love to have had more time. I spent 5 days climbing trees and picking as many olives as I could reach before we headed to the mill and pressed our harvest which was a really cool experience. I then helped with a bit of garden work planting trees and sewing a few vegetables around the finca. We worked (if you can call it work) from the morning around 0900 until around 1400, but Patricia was very laid back about this and so some days I did a bit more and other days we stopped early with heavy rain. All in all I had a great stay with Patricia and if it weren't for other commitments I would have loved to stay longer. I would definitely recommend Patricia as a host to anybody who has love for nature, learning or peaceful meditation. Hasta la vista, Matt

I spent 10 days at Suha & Millie's farm and it was an experience I will never forget. It was the perfect break my body & soul needed from the busy cities and hostel lifestyle. The farm is in such an idyllic location, I could happily spend the whole day chilling in a hammock taking in the scenery! There was always fun things to do with the group, working on the farm, going to the market, hiking & trying rock climbing, and lots of card games! Suha & Millie are both so welcoming and shared so much wisdom with the farm work, cooking & general information on Thailand/other travels ☺️ My stay was complete by sharing the time with 4 other incredible volunteers who I hope to remain friends with for life!! Thank you so much again and I would love to come back one day - also shout out to Kara, Ayu, Babycat & of course Susam 🥰

I had an excellent experience with Ava as my house and pet sitter. Her English is outstanding, and she carries herself with a level of maturity and responsibility well beyond her years. She cared for my home and my dog with genuine attention, and I always felt everything was in capable hands. One thing I especially appreciated was the time she took to visit and spend time with my grandmother — a kindness that meant a lot to our family. She was consistently prompt, dependable, and easy to communicate with throughout her stay. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a reliable, considerate, and truly exceptional sitter.

Hosting Fabienne was absolutely fabulous! She's very friendly, it's easy to spend time talking about many topics and she would make herself at ease also with other people who stayed with us even trying to speak different languages. She's very keen on doing what the different situations need and she was definitely amazing with olive picking, taking responsability and working diligently. She's also easy going with schedules and adaptable to different tasks. We had a great time together and she's welcome to come back anytime, a great help and a nice and respectful person to have around.

Jung had good communicator from start to finish, which made planning and coordinating everything so easy. She followed all instructions diligently and took great care in looking after both my home and my dog. It was clear that she approached everything with responsibility and genuine care. Overall, she was a tremendous help, and I’m very grateful for the peace of mind she provided while I was away. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful house and pet sitter.

I stayed with Mahesh and his family for ten days, and I felt like a part of their family from the first day! All the family members speak English, so it’s easy to communicate. They were all so open and gladly told me about Sri Lanka and their life. They were also very curious about me and my country. Mahesh has a busy schedule and is a hardworking man, but he is very flexible with your work and gives you time to rest. Rosemarie cooks amazing Sri Lankan food, I already miss it! I also learned so much about Sri Lanka, both by living with the family and by working at the school. I talked about different topics with the students, played games, and enjoyed their presentations. The level of their English skills varies, so I had the opportunity to talk about easy topics like fruits and animals with the youngest children, and more difficult topics with the older ones. I had so many lovely evenings with the family, playing cards, laughing, and dancing. I enjoyed hanging out with the kids when I was off work, they now have a special place in my heart. The family took me to the beach, out for dinner, and showed me so many places, foods, and fruits. They made sure I never missed anything and that I was okay. If you are a social and open person, and you love children, this is perfect for you!

I couldn't ask for a better host to start off my workaway experience. Peter and Ann are a lovely and kind couple. And I've had great time working and sharing with them, and learning about olive harvest, the process of extraction at the mill, which I was really into. They shared all their knowledge about olives, bees, honey and also about birds, and even recommend to go see the flamingos and lots of migrantes birds that the area is known for, which was awesome. We've had great conversations and shared laughs all together with the other workawayers, around the delicious and comforting meals that Ann prepared, and was fun to have their dogs around (Lucy, Alba and Ozzie) ;) and play with them. I really appreciate their hospitality and generosity, and for making me feel welcomed. I'm really grateful that I have met them; all the love and respect <3 I highly recommend.

Adrian & Shanice – Absolutely Outstanding Volunteers! We had the great pleasure of hosting Adrian and Shanice as our very first Workaway couple, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment they arrived, they brought positivity, openness, and a wonderful spirit of exchange. They were curious and eager to immerse themselves in India—its culture, food, daily life, and stories. We enjoyed so many deep, thoughtful conversations together and also plenty of laughs. They struck the perfect balance between being respectful and being fun-loving. Their work ethic was exceptional. They tackled every task with focus and enthusiasm, and the workbench they built in our garage is simply outstanding—built with care, skill, and long-term usability in mind. We will remember them every time we use it! Always helpful, always kind, and always eager to contribute, Adrian and Shanice brought a sense of teamwork and reciprocity that we deeply appreciated. They blended seamlessly into our rhythms and still managed to bring new energy and creativity into our space. We are incredibly grateful for the time we shared with them and highly recommend them to any future hosts. Our doors are always open, and we hope our paths cross again—whether in India, Germany, or somewhere unexpected along the way! Thank you, Adrian and Shanice — you set the bar very high! 👏🌍✨

We stayed with Delphine and Mattia for 13 days during the olive harvesting season in mid-late October. The days when we would be harvesting olives would be a full days work. In your free time you can explore the local area and town of Amelia. It's a very charming and peaceful town and it's also possible to visit Rome on your day off. The family have a very holistic and organic lifestyle and a massive appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. Outside of the Olive season there's still lots of things to be keeping busy with in and around the property and land. The children, Enke and Numa are boisterous and full of energy. The two dogs, Gino and Kora are absolutely gorgeous and very affectionate beautiful pets. They love long walks and are always playing with each other! Overall, Delphine and Mattia are very friendly and you can learn a lot about organic cultivation and holistic living during your time there. Many thanks for the olive oil! It's the best oil we've ever tasted!

Michael stayed with us for 3 weeks. He was an easy house guest, kept his area tidy and was respectful at all times. Michael was always eager to help out whenever needed and completed all tasks as requested. I highly recommend him as a workawayer. Wishing you all the best on your travels Michael.
