Chanti was a great contributor to ongoing projects here on the frog farm. She helped to remove invasive species and pruning. Her efforts have helped us immensely. She also cooked us delicious vegan dinners every night using just the ingredients we had on hand. No recipes. We will miss her and wish her luck in her future adventures.

Muchas gracias 😌🌱

I stayed at Peter and Mayu's place for 10 days. They are welcoming, caring and made sure that I have everything I need to be comfortable. There is a supermarket 2 minutes walk from the house and a train station in walking distance. For me it was the perfect place to rest in. When I was there I helped fixing shoji doors and shovelled some snow. I could manage my work schedule (depending on the project) which was perfect for me. Mayu took me with her to a very beautiful onsen in the mountains and to a thrift shop. She also cooked an amazing vegan dinner for all of us before I left. It was so good, thank you so much! I had a great time and hope to come back again.

Ajuuua And remember we don't fork with pupusas.😄

I’ve had a lovely week at the ranch! Enrique is very welcoming and next to work we did, he provided some fun activities as well. The nature surrounding the ranch is beautiful and all the animals make it even more a happy place. Thank you for letting me be a part of this beautiful place ❤️

Levi stayed with me for a week. He is a charming, intelligent and interesting young man exploring life. He will have a go at anything and persist with it til the jobs done. He is keen to learn lots of skills so appreciates good clear instructions and absorbs them with enthusiasm. He did 6-8 hours of whipper snipping! There was no stopping him once he got going. I absolutely loved talking to him and sharing our life’s experiences. He is so observant and open to sharing. It was a pleasure to be with someone so open. I wish him all the best in finding his life passions.

What a unique experience! I stayed here with my friend Paul for a little over a month Oct-Nov and did not really know what to expect when we arrived. Dianna and Gilly live in a beautiful home in a peaceful setting, just outside the town of Enderby. It’s definitely more accessible by car which gives you more freedom to explore your surrounds and although we didn’t need it, I understand that D&G have assisted with lifts into town for previous workawayers, should they need to get anything or have a look around. The town is quaint but definitely has what you need, set against a beautiful mountain backdrop with endless views. As for Dianna and Gilly- what big hearted humans you will have the pleasure of staying with. They are a very loving couple, always positive and laughing.. in fact I challenge you to find a day where they are not laughing together. They are very open in sharing their culture, traditions and teachings and welcome you into their healing community. We learned about the cultural significance of smudging and tobacco and spirit animals. You will most likely have the privilege of partaking/witnessing a sacred sweat lodge ceremony which is a very humbling and eye-opening experience. You may be fortunate enough to partake in a pipe ceremony or drum making workshop and if so, what a treat for you! We had many conversations and laughs over the dinner table, shared a Thanksgiving celebration with their extended family and we were able to contribute in meaningful ways. D&G value open and honest communication and you will get out of this experience what you put into it. Tasks consisted of wood chopping and stacking, cleaning and maintaining the home, cooking, organising, weeding, planting, assisting with Sweat lodge & drum-making prep, assisting with shopping and other tasks and odd-jobs that were required. We had our own rooms and bathroom inside the home and access to do laundry when we needed and they provided all food/meals. We had a wonderful time and feel very blessed to have met you both. Thank you for allowing us into your home and your lives! ❤️

Andri was such a lovely visitor. A great personality and sense of humour, conscientious and caring with the house and animals. A great wotk ethic where she took responsibility, anticipated needs and was generally a perfect fit for our household needs while I hobbled around with a knee injury. The animals all adored her and Sage cat keeps looking hopefully at her bedroom door to see if the overnight snuggling opportunities might become available again. That was one very happy cat.😻 I'm sorry you didn't get much time to yourself with the house and animals because of my knee and the weather Andri. But I would of course have seen you as the perfect mature, capable and responsible carer for the house and animals if I had been able to go away. Sorry you had to endure me talking so much! I was just so limited in what I could do. At least you were able to get out and explore a little of the area between the rain storms . . . Come back in August or September if you can. I promise it doesn't rain here all the time!

This lovely couple is still with us and welcome back!! Just see they do not have any feedback so thought i would jump the gun and say grab them if you can. Very hard workers and just can do attitude. They are the first to stay in our converted Vat shed as well! They have fitted in no problem and just understand busy family life. The first couple of days spent helping with gardening and some baby sitting. Rory am sure will have some great skills at some landscaping and improvement of pathways. Looking forward to the next week ahead. Our kids really enjoy them while hopefully giving them the peace to enjoy the farm... Thanks again

Antonio was super nice and he is organised which we loved. He is always willing to help and did every task we asked of him very well. He is very positive and easy to have a conversation with. We all liked him very much (me and my husband), the kids, the dogs and the cats and the other two workaway travelers that stayed with us while he was visiting. We can't wait to see him again 🥰♥️ We recommend him to everyone!!! Thank you for everything Antonio 🎄♥️

Tye was just much needed. Just chilled out and was able to give such expert advice on many projects... While here he completed so many tasks . Building a kitchen and bookcase . Making our cowshed bird resistant. Fixing our stove door even and installing multiple gadgets. Always up for it and just a nice guy. Would of like to have him over for dinner more as the kids really enjoyed him and he is welcome back anytime... Thanks again Workaway for another classic hard working nice guy who just fitted in! Not to mention he made our church a lovely Manger which will no doubt last 10 plus years!!!

Jonathon- brings a real sense of freedom to follow one’s chosen path in life with a gentle footprint. He is a real deep thinker and gives a differing opinion on a lot of subjects, making conversations very interesting. With his carpentry skills, Jonathan met the challenge of putting new window frames into the basement floor; which would have been a first for 3 hundred years! so quite an accolade to Jonathan’s contribution - we will be eternally grateful and the mill says thank you too 🙏 Jonathan’s teamwork also played a part in helping move some felled trees in the garden. He has a very soft nature and is spellbound watching nature and the seasons change. He really enjoyed being part of the team and was always found singing a tune and getting others to join in and will even give you some dance moves if you ask nicely. We wish you good fortune in finding your forever venture and in the meantime we highly recommend you as a Workaway. Thank you again!

I spend around seven weeks with Dora and her sons: Benjamin, Kai and Thiago. It was truly an amazing experience and I felt like part of the family. Dora told me right from the start that if something was going on or if I didn’t like something, to just have an open communication and talk about it so that we can work it out together. Dora took me with her to many of her activities. Like meeting her friends, going to the sauna, doing yoga and many other nice things. She treated me with so much friendliness and love that I felt so comfortable and it was hard for me to leave again. When I needed help deciding what to do or planing some activities for myself, she always helped me out and supported me. We celebrated many different things over my stay with them. Like Halloween, Dora’s birthday, thanksgiving, an early Christmas dinner and it was always so comfortable with Dora, her friends and their kids. Of course with all these kids and adults, there was always a lot going on, but that didn’t do anything to destroy the nice atmosphere and Dora always made sure that I was included in everything and was feeling comfortable. But she also let me have my space and supported me when I wanted to do things alone or needed an break. My main tasks were to help around the house (like vacuuming, doing the dishes, tidying up after the kids and stuff like that), helping to prepare meals (which were always very delicious) and helping out with the children. Sometimes I picked up the three year old twins, Kai and Tiago from kindergarten or watched them while Ben and Dora went out to spend some time together and I put them to bed in the evening. At other days I watched them for some hours while Dora was at work or had some activities planed. Of course with twins around that age you have your hands full, but it was really nice to spend time with them and to watch them play and the joy on their faces just from jumping around in the sofa, baking gingerbread cookies or create some Fantasie scenarios while playing. When I came to them in the end of October they already understood English perfectly well and over my stay they also started to speak more English and it is so cute and nice to spend some time talking to them. I also got to know the 12 year old Benjamin over my stay and he is a nice kid to talk to and spend time with. It was always fun to just joke around with him or talk about anime, school or some games he likes to play. Sometimes Dora, Ben and I would just sit together and craft some Christmas decorations, drink some hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music. It was always so cozy. And even though I helped around the house and with the children I had lots of free time to explore the area, go hiking,go to some museums, visit the city of Stavanger ( around 20 min from here) or just spend some time reading a book at home. Dora also always encouraged me to do some activities here and wanted me to gain new experiences and learn new things. Even after my stay with Dora, she makes me I felt so comfortable and safe traveling Norway, telling me I can always come back if something happens and that we will definitely stay in touch. I felt so at home with them and like I was a member of their family that I will try my best to visit them again before I leave Norway and go back to Germany.

I've spend three weeks at this lovely place. It was an awesome experience full of ever changing work to do and nice evenings with the people from all around the world I met there. There are tasks for everyone, I promise you, you will find something to do what you really will enjoy. And there is never time to feel bored because you get to prepare food for all, enjoy the great nature or play games at a cozy evening.

We spent two exceptional weeks at Mount Jukes. David and Aune welcomed us with such generosity that we already feel nostalgic for the conversations we shared every day around fabulous meals. We had the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of tasks such as taking care of the garden, weeding, painting, maintaining the platform, cooking, fertilizing… and many other things! These two weeks were an opportunity to reflect on life and on the meaning we want to give it. A huge thank you to both of you for the sincerity of all these moments — they will play an important role in shaping what we want to become in the future.
