Emily and Matt taught English at our school for a month, and it was a pleasure having them here. They were committed, reliable, and very flexible with any schedule changes. We highly recommend them for any teaching role!

AMAZING Workaway hosts in Cuenca, spent the month of December there, and would’ve stayed longer, but I had onward travel plans. The site is walking distance from the historic centre in CUENCA, yet it feels like you’re in a very peaceful, serene, natural sanctuary, not in the heart of a big city. Add to that the fact that the community of expats there are very friendly, helpful, great to hang out with, and as one of them told me and I came to find out for myself, the place has both heart and soul, largely because of the hosts. Did some painting, a bunch of landscaping, some other random tasks, and the hosts took me on a bike ride on the outskirts of town, which was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had in my three years so far in Ecuador. Highly recommended, great apartment, the most comfortable bed I’ve found in years - aside from my own - a family vibe, looking forward to coming back and doing more volunteer work in 2026. Highly recommend this work away, especially if you are handy, and enjoy property maintenance work, as I do.

I had a truly enriching stay at "Quinta". The balance of meaningful work and free time made the experience both productive and relaxing. The atmosphere was appaealing really warm,green and welcoming. Only negatif thing was waether during my stay it rained a lot during my most stay so I put my best effort to be a productive as possible. Elvira deserves a special mention—she supported me constantly and brought positivity and a smile to every moment. She is a fantastic manager who made everything run smoothly.Also Jack was always positive and helpful as well.I really enjoy cacoa and Kirtan ceremony and happy to experience in first hands. We had a wonderful experience here 😊 Coni and Justin are such lovely hosts, they made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable, we will miss you guys and hope to come back in the future! They have built a beautiful Eco Hotel, which we loved relaxing in after we finished work (especially by their beautiful pools!) Pisco Elqui itself is absolutely beautiful and one of the most unique landscapes we've ever visited. The night sky is also absolutely incredible! We stayed for 2.5 weeks and helped with maintenance of the cabins - mainly painting with natural material (Clay and Cal), but also did some mosaics and gardening. We were provided delicious and traditional breakfasts and lunches, and a private room and bathroom for accommodation. We learned so much from Coni and Justin - about Chilean culture and food, the beautiful Elqui Valley, about sustainable practices and we were also able to improve our Spanish. They were always so kind to us, they took us out to multiple events in the local area (Baroque and alternative music). Some evenings and weekends we spent relaxing on the property, all the staff at the Eco Hotel are also very friendly and we alway enjoyed conversation with them. We can't express how lovely everyone is and just how enjoyable the whole experience was. Thank you all so much 😊

It was a pleasure to host Lucie! She is a strong, hardworking, and independent, mature minded young woman who brings a bright, happy energy wherever she goes. Lucie was always punctual and ready to get started on each day’s projects. Thanks to her, our weeds are now well under control, our windows are sparkling, and our pooch Janet enjoyed plenty of lovely walks. I highly recommend Lucie to any future hosts!

There’s not much more to say! We had an amazing time with Lisa and the two weeks she spent with us passed too fast. You can totally rely on her, she takes responsibility and knows what to do. It’s so fun to be with her, if it’s work, preparing the food or going out. We all look forward to see her again and I can recommend her to anyone who is looking for good company, deep talks and whatever has to be done I don’t doubt she will do a good job! Thank you so much for staying with us, we do miss you!

Vivek and Sudha invited me to their home during my roadtrip through Norway and I am really glad I accepted their offer. It was a great pleasure to get to know them and their family/friends during the afternoon we spend together. I learned so much about their cultures and they served some of the most delicious Indian food ever 😋 I didn't have a 'proper' Workaway stay with them, but I can assure you that you will be welcomed with open arms to their lovely home in Trondheim. Thank you once again for everything you shared with me Vivek and Sudha. Your hospitality and generosity is admirable and you inspired me to pass this on to others <3

I just spent a lovely week with another Workaway staying there the same time as me and predominantly Stephanie out of the family, only meeting Sebastian at the end and having a couple nights house sitting. They were welcoming, energetic and full of character. Very helpful with the surrounding area (maps for walks given) and routes to Hamburg and info/places to go suggested. The house was also gorgeous and very well kept. The tasks were fair and averaged around 5 hours a day (minus weekend) and it was up to the other workawayer and I to regulate that. Lin appeared unexpectedly in my local area after experiencing a night of driving rain as she wild camped for the first time on Dartmoor! So with a spare room we of course accommodated her for a couple of nights, saw her off on the next leg of her walking experience and welcomed her back for another night when she returned to do a navigation course on Dartmoor. So more of a couch surf than a Workaway experience reallly but Lin was a very interesting person to have visit, good company and great to chat with. Clearly a great cat lover, an experienced, trustworthy and capable house sitter too. An all round lovely person to have met and I'm glad we could help out a bit on your journey Lin.

I hesitated to write this feedback for a while — not because I was disappointed, but because it’s genuinely difficult to express how much I enjoyed my stay. It was my first Workaway, and I’ll admit I was a bit nervous. I’m not the most outgoing person, and I can get overwhelmed easily. It turned out there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Alan and Lara’s place quickly became one of my favourite places in the world. I enjoyed every minute of my time there — the horses, the dogs, the views, and the people. It was a chance for me to learn a lot about myself and what I want in life. I loved the shared meals, the conversations, the exchange of stories, even the debates about politics and philosophy. And yes, at least once or twice I laughed to the point of tears. Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I truly wish I could go back.

I was lucky enough stay on Adrian's Farm for three weeks during november and I have rarely learned so much in such a short time as I have here. It was a huge pleasure to experience Adrians basic lifestyle on his farm by the ocean. Adrian is one of the most chill and thoughtful guys I've ever met. He is very eager to teach about everything he knows and likes a good conversation about cultures, languages, music or food. His parents are also incredibly warm and welcoming people. The work I got to do was really varied, from chopping firewood and catching fish to work in the garden and building/reparing stuff. If you can work independently and have a curious mind, you will never get bored here. Pair this with amazing, fresh food and a warm place by the firestove and you have the best experience ever. Thank you once again for your company and hospitality Adrian! I'm beyond grateful for the time we spent together. Vi ses! <3

We are so grateful to have had the oportunity to have Ahmad volunteer with us for one month this spring. He is such a joy to be around and makes one feel that life is worth living. He is also a good worker and picked up many gardening skills very quickly during his time here. He was very willing to help with any and everying that was needed around the homestead, from moving chickens to weeding; he even moved humanure with much enthusiasm! He is also an amazing cook and prepared us delicious meals that are traditional in Jordan. Any project that he is interested in would be lucky to have him as a volunteer.

Alice was a lovely visitor. Motivated to explore the area, a wonderful friend and carer for the animals and very good company around the house. I would absolutely recommend Alice as a responsible , capable and confident young woman to care for pets and your home. She has a caring and conscientious attitude for domestic tasks, takes the initiative and is a great baker! Fantastic apple cake Alice! It was great to see Alice use her time in the UK both to commit to our needs and to use the local transport network to explore nearby cities and Cornwall. And thanks for the painting too Alice. That's another task my bad knee won't have to cope with. Good luck for the future. x

It was a pleasure to have Anne at the house. She is a very open person, very friendly and fun to be around. I was a bit sick while she was there and she took care of a lot of things that normally would have been my tasks, like cooking and washing. She just saw what was needed and did it! Thank you so much!!! Hope to see you another time!

Nico and Marvin a two very open and friendly young guys who are eager to learn new skills and were always super helpful. It was really cool to have them around and we got so much done! I was sick part of the time that they helped me and they were super independent when doing tasks. Danke nochmal an euch beide! Alles gute für die Zukunft und ich hoffe wir sehen uns bald wieder! Immer schön weiter Tennis spielen!

It was a pleasure to have Christina at the house. Even though she could not stay long she helped a lot and was very supportive. she is a very open person, very friendly and fun to be around. All the best Christina, hope to see you another time!

I can't start to describe this amazing family ! Jacob and Shelah are amazing people, with two energetic and clever kids. They made me part of the family since the first day, and I helped them with small daily tasks, in the meantime we builded an amazing friendship ! The place is in the countryside, fully of landscapes, so you can enjoy the view too :) Looking foward to see my Irish family again ❤️

I spend the last two months with this sweet family. They made me feel welcome from the first day and was really helpful to help me with informations about Genoa, recommending nice foodplaces and great experiences to get while staying there. Miria and Ugo are amazing hosts and are open for learning about new cultures and also teaching about theirs. I had a great time with the two sweet daughters Anita and Nina who are both very fun and nice to be around. The work for the family varies from day to day, the work is also not hard to do. You have a lot of free time to experience the city, which is in a walking distance to the city centre, train station and the sea. Its a big house and as a workawayer I had a big private room and a toilet with a shower. I had an amazing time with the family and I can warmly recommend them!!

We were very lucky to have Tamara helping us here with the animals and with all the other tasks required in our farm sanctuary. She completed every task with maturity, strength, independence, and great initiative. Tamara adapts very well to our sometimes fast-paced rhythm at the sanctuary. She was always eager to help, and she never gave us the impression that the work was too hard for her. Walking out every morning to reach the animals and provide them with hay, treating the sheep that needed special care, regularly cleaning the manure from the cows’, donkeys’ and horses’ areas, these are just a few of the tasks that Tamara carried out. We can wholeheartedly recommend her to any future host. Tamara will never let you down; she is a lovely person to talk to and always gets the job done. We will gladly welcome her back here anytime.

I stayed at Uli and Sebastian’s place for three weeks. From the moment I arrived there I felt very welcome and accepted there. Communication with them was clear, they were considerate with everything, polite and made it always sure that I was feeling comfortable there. We had some interesting conversations. It was nice to get to know their point of views on different subjects whether it conserned religion, health or some other issue. I had 20 hours work for a week and I could do those hours at the time I preferred. My work consisted of things like clearing out some bushes, weed patroling, mowing, collecting soil from the chicken coop, small painting tasks etc. Sebastian gave me good tools and instructions. My accommodation there was really comfortable. I had my own bathroom and even a little kitchen. Food was healthy. Uli cooked delicious lunches and other meals I could arrange myself from the versatile selection of the healthy ingredients they had. The place is a little bit high on the hill, but if you like to get some exercise, you can walk to the town (about one hour walk) or make some walks in the surrounding nature. There are also good chances to join Uli whenever she goes to the town or somewhere else. I visited some other beautiful towns and beaches as well with Uli and the kids. If you have a chance to stay with this lovely family, I highly recommend doing so!
