Emily at the time was able to help my elderly mother Maria - below is feedback from mum. Emily is a truly lovely person with a beautiful soul. From the very beginning, she took the time to be with me, and I deeply enjoyed every moment she spent here. Without ever needing to be asked, she helped me in the garden every morning, always with care and kindness. Despite our very different ages, we could talk for hours and share meaningful conversations. Her presence brought joy and warmth into my home. I only wish I had had more time with her — she will always be very welcome here. kindly Maria

I spent 9 days looking after Yennys two gorgeous cats while she was travelling. The flat and the village are both very nice and it's easy and cheap to catch a van into Bogotá to look around the city. Yenny is lovely and although we didn't get to meet this time we stayed in contact throughout on WhatsApp. Would recommend this host to anyone who loves cats and wants to spend some time in a beautiful and relaxing place.

Priest was a wonderful worker really put in her time and got things done and speedy way. Also the best thing was she was so positive and so grateful. Really enjoyed having her around. She split wood which she learned how to do here, she did a bit of house cleaning, She stacked wood and moved snow. She even cleaned up the garden before the snow hit and the frozen ground. Great communicator and as I said, just a positive attitude person. I think Priest could use a little guidance on the final cleanup.

Thank you Tristan and Mathilde for being the best workawayers we could ask for as we start up this farm. You were always so willing to be helpful, kind, and up for a new project during your time heere. You kept such good communication with us and checked in, expressing anything that came up so well. We wish you the best with the rest of your travels and will always be grateful for your time here on the farm.

We had the great pleasure of hosting Bronnie at our farm, and we can confidently say that she was an exceptional volunteer. She is a very creative, intelligent, and energetic person, with a consistently positive attitude throughout her stay. Bronnie approached every task with creativity, motivation, and curiosity. She was proactive, quick to understand instructions, and often brought thoughtful ideas and creative solutions that added real value to our daily work and projects. She worked independently when needed, while also being an excellent team player. Beyond her skills, her positive energy and respectful behavior made daily life on the farm very pleasant. She integrated easily into our routine, showed genuine interest in the farm’s objectives, and carried out her responsibilities with care and reliability. She spent the evenings in our house baking delicious pastries with my wife Ons while singing Maori songs. Bronnie is an amazing individual , we were blessed to have her with us and we really wish she would have extended her stay with us We are truly grateful for her contribution and the quality of her involvement. We would gladly welcome her back and highly recommend her to any host looking for a committed, creative, and positive volunteer.

We had a wonderful time and felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. Carolyn is incredibly kind and inviting, offering a great private space while also making us feel comfortable being part of her home. We really enjoyed sharing stories and experiences together—especially solving the great mystery of the water tank :) The to-do list made it easy to choose tasks that matched our skills and interests, with complete flexibility to work on them at our own pace during the stay. We’re very grateful for the hospitality, and getting to explore the area!

It’s difficult to put into words how great this experience was, so my main advice to anyone thinking of going is don’t think twice and buy your tickets now! Yen and Misha are such sweet and generous people. During our stay we felt like this place was our home and that Yen and Misha were our friends, not just our hosts. The work at the hostel was easy and fun, and Yen and Misha always made sure to ask if we needed any help and to express their appreciation. They are also very flexible and chill, so working with them was always a pleasure. The hostel is so beautiful and calm, far from tourist hotspots. During our stay, we had the chance to learn how to surf, see lots wildlife, go on hikes, and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets. We are already thinking of coming back! Thank you for opening your home to us ❤️

It was so hard to leave Andrea's! The house and garden is a little paradise of fruit trees and cute animals. The work is reasonable and fun. Andrea is super kind, very clear in her expectations and everything is exactly as described on her profile. She helped me improve my Spanish and occasionally cooked some Bolivian specialties! Don't hesitate and go for it !!!

Muchísimas gracias a Daniela, Rodrigo y Tahel! I stayed with this family for 2 months, and I can’t describe how happy I am to have had this opportunity. From the very beginning, they welcomed me as part of their family, and I immediately felt at home. The work was easy to understand and well explained, and I had access to all the tools I needed to make life easier. In the evenings, I really enjoyed the delicious meals prepared by Rebecca. After dinner, playing soccer with the boys or watching a movie was always fun. Life with this family was never boring there was always something happening, whether it was a soccer game or an afternoon at the beach. Thank you for everything you did for me and for making my trip perfect.

IIlytie is a super friendly and proactive girl! She spent two weeks with us, helping with organization, small wooden structure networkings, and also with art. She's a respectful, organized person who loves to cook. She also loves interacting with people, talking, and understanding the reality of the places she visits. That's a big plus. :) Até logo, Ilytie!! Um grande abraço! :D

Thank you Tor & Ingrid for everything! :) I am very grateful for my experiences here and would strongly recommend this place! I felt welcome and appreciated from the first day. Thanks again Ingrid for cooking vegan for me when I arrived - this made me feel acceped and gave me a good feeling on my first evening. I stayed here for 4 weeks and it felt like home to me. This is truly a special place, where the volunteer group becomes a family. Living and working together with ~7 other volunteers while getting to know each other is special. We spend lots of time together (cooking, playing cards, kayaking, watching movies, hiking, weekend trips to explore Norway, trips to Oslo...), but it was also always possible to have me-time. I really enjoyed to live in the cabin and the property itself - just walking around there, enjoying the quiet nature and looking at the fjord made me happy! The work was not too hard and working with other volunteers was fun - especially smashing down the toilet house haha! It felt good to do physical work and try and learn new things, like rebuilding the floor in the toilet house. Ingrid and Tor trusted us with work projects, even though we weren't experienced, and I think this can really help people to become more self-confident. They were very flexible and supportive of our weekend trips and helped to make them possible by giving us 3 days off. Thanks for this amazing time! I hope to see you again! :) By the way: we are probably all gonna miss the coffee breaks! :)

Staying with Brian and Barbara was my first workaway experience and I feel very fortunate to have spent 2 weeks with them. I really enjoyed their company and feel grateful for their hospitality throughout. Barbara's home cooking is to be commended and Brian surprised me one evening with his excellent spaghetti bolognese. Best of all was getting to know more about them and sharing their humour in our conversations. My tasks in the weekdays included pressure washing, painting (and re-painting), mending gates and improvising a cover for the pool, sewing together plastic sheets with rope. I was also fortunate to meet and work with a couple down-to-earth workaway volunteers during my stay. I found the dogs very friendly and although they could be mischievous, they were a good laugh. I enjoyed multiple trips out in the car with Brian as well as hiking and riding a mountain bike in the surrounding hills, which had been kindly left by a previous workaway guest. I wish Barbara, Brian and the pups well for the new year :)

Mario is a chill guy and an awesome musician. We stayed just over a month and a half at his project on Etna during winter as last-minute guests, and we’re very grateful to him for taking us in after a difficult volunteer experience beforehand. The work involved digging out floors in his rural stone house in preparation for concrete, levelling land, helping in the vegetable garden, and daily chores like cutting wood and dishes. The work is physically demanding, and the days and hours can vary. We stayed in the camper, which was livable for us but definitely not for the faint-hearted, as mentioned in Mario’s profile. Mario kindly let us use a gas heater during the cold winter nights, which helped a lot. The shared space also doubles as Mario’s bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, which could feel overwhelming at times, but we found a way to make it work. Highlights for us were the food and cultural exchange, meals cooked by Mario’s mother (some of the best we had in Italy), spending Christmas with his family, meeting his friends, jam nights, visiting Mount Etna, and even writing three satirical songs together. At times it was challenging to stay motivated, as Mario also needed encouragement during our stay, and much of the physical work was done mainly by us, with limited hands on work by him. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable experience. Thanks to Mario and Alessia for the time, knowledge, and experiences shared, you guys are legends! Hope to see you in Bosnia 😛

It was a great pleasure to host Xavier the last 4 weeks. Besides that he is a really nice and calm person to have around, he is an excellent driver and gardener. He is perfectly bilingual French-English. You don’t have to explain in detail what needs to be done, because of his pro activity and knowledge. With our other volunteer, they made a good division of daily chores. I would recommend Xavier 100% as your next volunteer!

I just spent a month at Paloma's ranch and I feel rejuvenated. Paloma is such a nice and caring host, so passionate about what she does, it felt incredible to be part of her beautiful project ! Life at the ranch is quiet, peaceful, aligned with the sun's hours. The work itself is very varied, and during one shift you may have 3 different activities, which makes the time pass very fast. It ranges from harvesting gorgeous flowers to move poop composts so you have to be ready for real farm life :) Most humbling experience. Would love to have the opportunity to come back, and to see you again Paloma ! In the meantime I'll think of this beautiful place every time I'll have a cup of delicious capomo 💚 muchas gracias para todo

Clayton and Martina stayed here for two months, and it was wonderful to have them around. They are both very hardworking and proactive, always happy to lend a hand. They are easy-going and, at this time, we not only shared work, but also had very nice conversations and lots of funny moments. They also helped us with house-sitting and they were great at taking care of our beloved Gopala (cat). We would highly recommend them as volunteers. Muchísimas gracias por todo chicos y mucha suerte en todos los proyectos que vienen :)
