Description
This is a rural property 45 minutes from hobart. it is 500 m above sea level and feels very private with very few neighbors yet only 15 minute drive to the closest town with all your basic needs.
.2 women in our 30's we have three dogs. lots of native animals running around the paddock.
we have two chicken coops, a garden , hot house , multiple dwellings, a self contained shed with a communal kitchen shower area. composting toilet system.
we work hard but also like to play hard.we love motorbikes, and being creative.
we are looking forward to meeting new people and hosting people with practical skills that are willing to experience a unique off grid living situation, that are not scared o f getting their hands dirty.
we are fairly laid back and love a good laugh, we enjoy sharing meals yet also have the available facility's for us to not need to share every meal.
the lay out of the property means there is plenty of space to be able to find your own time and space when needed.
we have been building up all the facilities the last five years to the point we are mostly comfortable , yet there is always room for improvement . we wish to build new areas to grow more food and produce . build and improve more areas on the land for living . create better hydrology and water storage . as well as plant more trees along a creekline we live along .
there is always daily chores that need fulfilling.
New Norfolk (the closest town) is the gateway to the west coast of Tassie. There are many beautiful walks and forested areas with a short drive from the property.
We're flexible and happy to fit in with requests, we don't expect too much... but we do expect a fair trade of work for our hospitality, so if you're lazy and unmotivated, probably not going to be a great match. We love relaxed, easy going but self motivated people who can do things on their own initiative and that communicate well.Types of help and learning opportunities
