    Description

My dogs and I live on the beach in the dry forest jungle of Guanacaste Costa Rica. We offer a bedroom with a bath in our home just steps away from the beach in exchange for home improvement projects such as, finishing decks, making railings, building a fence, constructing a retainer wall, interior painting, tree trimming, and general help around my home. The area I live in is remote and beautiful with an abundance of nature and friendly people.

The next projects needed to be done are finishing and fortifying two decks, making a railing around the front of the house, carpentry experience would be a must. Then I need to replace the fencing around my property and build a retainer wall, both of these jobs are hard work, so please be aware.

The area where I live is surrounded by nature, you will experience seeing many different birds and insects. You will hear and see howler monkeys. I am about a 15-minute drive to the sea turtle sanctuary in Ostional, if you are lucky enough to be working during an arribada, it is an experience of a lifetime. You will find many fruit trees and culinary delights in our area. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the country! Practice your Spanish or learn it while you are here. Such a beautiful place with many cultural and learning opportunities to experience!

  • Help

    Help

I would like the help to be done from 7 am until noon, Monday through Friday only. The person qualified to help me should speak English, be mature, hardworking, honest, clean, be able to work independently and are kind. They should be skilled in cleaning, organizing, painting, general home maintenance, construction, carpentry or plumbing would be a bonus. It would be great if you have had experience living or working in Costa Rica previously.

    Accommodation

My guest room is comfortable with a window to the garden area and glass doors leading out to a small deck with chairs to sit in, plants and a small pond that is the home to a turtle named Pistachio. Right outside the bedroom door is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. You will be free to use my home, my kitchen, my living room, my outside deck with table and seating with beautiful ocean views.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are so many ways to spend your free afternoons and evenings, hiking, horseback riding, surf lessons, turtle tours, yoga, spa treatments, snorkeling, canopy tours, river boat, sunset cruises, fishing trips, farmers markets, restaurants, so many fun things to do or do nothing but lay on the beach, swim on the ocean and swing in a hammock all day. There is something for everyone. There is public transportation to my location, but if you want to really experience all this area has to offer in terms of activities, a 4x4 rental vehicle is needed.
