    Description

, a haven of hospitality located on the shores of Lake Atitlan, we are seeking passionate volunteers with experience in the hospitality sector. New owners, Wicha and Marce, life long friends who have infused the hostel, café, and restaurant with their love for culture, community, and the art of travel. The Hostel is more than just a place to stay—it's a vibrant, welcoming community where guests from around the globe can find comfort and connection.

Being located on Lake Atitlan, our hostel is a part of a bigger community of San Marcos. San Marcos is a peaceful town where you will find a mix of indigenous people and people who come to connect with nature and with themselves. It is important for us that our volunteers maintain a peaceful environment, but as well fun and interactive. This is not a party place, but we do organize occasional events with music, fun evening programs such as karaoke, quiz nights, or salsa classes, which we would like that you take part in organizing and participating.

We are looking for individuals who share our commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Volunteers with backgrounds in hospitality management, customer service, or any related field will find a rewarding environment where you can apply and expand their skills. Whether you're adept at front desk operations, have a knack for creating welcoming spaces, or excel in creating events, your contributions will be valuable to our team.

As a volunteer here, you will have the opportunity to:
    - Meet and work with people from various countries and backgrounds
    - Meet and work with local people from our community
    - Improve skills in the field of hospitality
    - Improve your Spanish skills
    - Implement your ideas and creations - we are always open for input and improvements!
    - Use your interests and skills to create programs and activities for guests and volunteers (You enjoy playing chess? You're welcome to organize a chess tournament!)

In return for your dedication and hard work, we offer:
    - Accomodations at our hostel
    - Two meals a day, even on your non-working days
    - One free drink during your shift, and 25% volunteer discount on the rest of the menu
    - Working 4 days a week, having 3 days off
    - Access to yoga classes at our hostel (guests have a priority, and if there is available space, volunteers are welcome to join)
    - Use of hostels paddle boards (again, guests have a priority, and if there is availability, volunteers are welcome to use them)
    - Our hostel has space for many volunteers, so you will never be alone, and you will have a chance to form unforgettable friendships and maybe find new travel buddies!
    - And last but not least, a chance to live and work in one of Guatemala’s most stunning locations, with direct access to the lake and the view of volcanos.

We do not ask for much in return, but we believe that being responsible, friendly, and a good team player can make both our and your experience here enjoyable.

If you believe this opportunity is for you, please apply in this order:

    1. Start by stating your availability dates in the message description, as it will immediately allow us to see if we have space for you or not (and it also shows us that you read our profile). Please note that we prefer people to commit for a stay of minimum 1 month.
    2. We will aim to organize a video call so we get a chance to meet each other. We believe this is the best way for both sides to make sure we are on the same page, that you know exactly what to expect when you arrive here, and that we give the space for you to ask all the questions you might have.
