    Description

We are an NGO based out of Mangalgi Village, Bidar District, Karnataka that have just started to work on sustainable model village project. There are opportunities in natural farming, teaching, women empowerment and lifestyle adoption. If you're spiritual that is a bonus as we are also creating temple and meditation spaces for the village.

We are Pranava Kshetra. Our purpose is to Facilitate human beings to transform into conscious and responsible individuals. Sustainability and Resilience are just a consequence of such reality by creating inclusive communities centered around wellbeing, resilience, sustainability, and volunteerism through behavioral transformation. Our focus is towards rural India.
We are a nonprofit organization that is run by volunteers to inspire the villages of India to become self-sufficient and sustainable in every way including human capacity to its fullest. A dedicated group of volunteers who are simply doing what is needed and inspiring the villagers towards behavioral transformation and achieve their highest capacity. Volunteers from all across India have been supporting Pranava Kshetra since its inception in 2022. Pranava Kshetra is based in North Karnataka in Mangalgi Village, Bidar District, Karnataka.

The role of a volunteer who is a practitioner of such tools of transformation offered at Pranava Kshetra is of utmost importance to inspire the villagers. A volunteer will have three qualities to inspire other individuals:
WILLINGNESS - They are just willing without any resistance from within
“WHAT ABOUT ME?” does not arise from within.
    RESPONSIBILITY towards all life
When a volunteer practicing such tools comes into contact with the village, their being itself will inspire the villagers to come together as a community without any differences and discrimination. The end goal is to create a village full of volunteers who are willing to take up responsibility towards all life around them, that are willing and care for each other in the village as a community.

As is evident so far that we are in a rural setting and so the facilities and resources are quite limited. We cook ourselves and we are mostly vegan. Rarely for a few rituals Indian native cow's milk is used. We cook daily and do not have a fridge. Essentially we are living a mostly natural lifestyle consuming natural food cooked using natural methods and leading an almost chemical free lifestyle. The volunteer facility includes a shared room of 10x14 with two other volunteers. The room can easily accomodate three volunteers. For a female volunteer, there is a separate room that I share with as it is bigger in size catering to the needs of a female volunteer.

On a day to day basis, we are involved in the following activities this particular year:
    1. Yoga classes to male adults
    2. Sports/games to children, especially female children and women
    3. Natural farming activities including weeding, plantation, spraying and other management
    4. Teaching in the Mangalgi Wadi Primary school.

A workaway partner could offer his/her support in any of the above activities. It is important to understand that Yoga classes, Sports, and teaching are more or less not full time activities and the volunteer will have time during the week to travel or do other things. Natural farming is the only activity that occurs daily and the workaway partner could offer support few days a week. That can be discussed as per everyone's convenience.

    Facilities:
    1. Internet - We have limited internet that runs at slow speeds. But it is available.
    2. Cell phone service - Airtel's service is the best in this region. Jio and others' signals are weak
    3. Bathing and Toilet: Indian style and western style toilets are available. A simple Bathroom is also available.
    4. Laundry: We wash our clothes by hand through simple methods. While we have access to a washing machine, that is only used for emergencies and special circumstances
    5. House: The house has four rooms. Kitchen, Bedroom for females, Bedroom for males, and living room. We have few restrictions like food can only be consumed in the Kitchen and sometimes in the living room. No food inside the bedroom. Bedroom is only for sleeping and for activity.
    6. Water: We have drinking water and enough water for our daily routines.
    7. Electricity: We have frequent electric outages. While there is some backup emergency services, it is not to be relied upon. The backup is a small battery that can charge a cell phone at the most.
    8. Cooking: There is an LPG gas cylinder and stove for cooking. No cooking of meat, egg or non-vegetarian food inside the house. Likewise, Indian milk tea, onion, and garlic are not to be cooked inside the house. Rest of the teas or vegetarian options are all open. We lead a positive pranic lifestyle that means we consume food rich in prana (life energy) and avoid few items such as: onion, garlic, green chillies, tea, coffee, alcohol, meat, eggs, milk (to a large extent), brinjal (eggplant), wheat, white floor, white sugar.

While the volunteer may practice his/her religion it is imperative that they respect our spiritual practices. We are a spiritual organization focused on Isha practices. We are open to everyone. The same is expected of the workaway partners. Infact, a workaway partner will only fit if they can be inclusive in nature. Else they will not be able to partner in the project.

You could benefit from observing and learning important aspects of how to live. We are here to live in joy and you can be a part of it rather than considering it as an activity or a task that needs to be done. You will gain a perspective of how the hopelessness can bring death to people and you can be a part of creating the joy in people.
