    Description

We are a hobby farm run by a little family in he granite hills of the Macedon Ranges Victoria. We are a family of four. My husband and I work full time (I work from home in the Animal Health industry). We have two boys ages 4 and 6.

We offer a unique and picturesque location within an hours drive from the Melbourne airport. Set amongst a beautiful mature garden, we have a large, traditional home amongst native trees, plants and animals. The climate is cool in the winter and warm and dry in the summer. At home, we have a pool adjacent to our orchard where you can relax after a warm day. You’ll get to immerse yourself in nature whilst enjoying the bustling region of the Macedon Ranges where culture, art, food and wine are the heart and soul of our locality.

We have the ability to offer a unique Australian farm stay experience where our farm is small and immersive, we are not a large production style enterprise. We will offer the traveler a varied experience within two properties. If you can drive a tractor or are willing to learn, you’ll enjoy a variety of experiences with us in our little piece of paradise. You have the ability to free range over a few projects in the garden and on the farm, we both work full time and the farm is our passion project that is more of a hobby, so you’ll have plenty of time to be creative in the garden, go on meandering walks in the forest trails with the dogs, ride a horse (if you’re experienced only please), build a vegetable garden, pick fruit in the summer and care for the orchard, help us with lamb marking and sheep work, enjoy experiences we share with our young kids (4 & 6). Share stories, music and of course relax with all of the movie streaming services or a dip in the pool at the end of the day.

Animal lovers paradise… we have four dogs and three cats, a horse, cows and sheep. We are forever working on exciting projects on our two properties within 15 minutes of each other. One, where we live, has a large, enchanting and established garden where we wish to incorporate a food garden and keep up with weekly maintenance in our orchard and flower gardens. The other, is a boutique sheep farm, where we breed and raise, ethical, grass fed lamb on our pastures of rolling hills. Here, we have a small stone cottage we wish to resurrect to its former glory. There is often some farm work with animals, fences and projects to keep us busy. We would require about 25 hours a week of work on various projects, with us, and independently. The rest of the time is yours to explore and unwind. We enjoy downtime to soak up the atmosphere, hike, explore, light a camp fire, and have a few wines.

We live in the best wine region in Victoria. It is small, but beautiful! We can help with transport to local buses which take you to trains that go into Melbourne city. Surrounding us is forest dotted with granite hills, where people enjoy hiking and bouldering regularly. We see deer, wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, possums, koalas, kookaburras and many other native Australian birds. This is a stay for the animal and nature lover.
