    Description

Hey! We are a small family of three: me (Zuzana), husband (Chris) and an almost 4 year old son (AK). I am from the Czech Republic, my husband is Zambian and we live in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province.

I came to Zambia 9 year ago, working in a refugee settlement and fell in love with the country. Eventually I met my husband and we have been settled for the past 4 years.

We live within reasonable distance from the city centre and stay in the stand-alone house. We have a garden, we love planting and playing with flowers, doing different diy projects and just live our regular life. I work online from home, our son mostly goes to school for half day.

Kitwe is the second biggest Zambian city, but the Copperbelt province is not touristy destination due to the numerous mining industries here. Yet, I believe it is a great place to explore, especially if you are interested in the less touristy places!

You will see how a life of a regular family in Zambia looks like (not poor, not rich, somewhere in between:) There are number of amazing places to visit in Copperbelt which are less known, though of course those are not the Victoria Falls or the Zambia famous national parks. I (Zuzana) love travelling and am always curious to learn, share, have fun together. Of course, you wont leave without testing the traditional Zambian food (though in the vegetarian version!), without listening to Zambian music and being part of lots of fun and controversial discussions between me, my husband and you!

We would like some help with making our garden better (we have a gardener, but the garden needs lots of improvements!), as well as with the landscaping. There is always a ton of improvements to be done around the house, including diy projects. As we are a small family, we would also appreciate somebody who loves kids to spend the time with our son to play and have fun! If you love cooking, this would be perfect too!

    Accommodation

A separate room in our house (double bed with a mosquito net), chest of drawers, small table, lamp --- and of course a flower :) The shower and toilet are shared, as well as the kitchen, living room and two verandas. And the garden! We have electricity (most of the time!), hot water and internet. Food included.

    What else ...

You are most welcome to join us during the weekend when we go for small trips to a dam nearby. There are a couple of places to visit, however Zambia is very big so "nearby" is relative. Within one hour drive (public transport is available), you can visit a dam, bird sanctuary, the city of Ndola or Chingola or the White Sands within Kitwe. Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage (the biggest chimpanzee orphanage in the world) is about 3 hours away. To be honest, exploring the area is more for adventurous people who are after less known areas, are not scared off by the usual rhythm of the public transport or the only plan ever working being: "no plans never turn according to the plan".
