I spent a fabulous 3 weeks in August. What an incredible opportunity to experience life living in community whilst getting your hands in the soil - hugely inspiring.
There was one other volunteer when I was there, we each had our own rooms that were super comfy. Different residents would request our help for either the morning or afternoon,

We'd cook our own meals using amazing produce from the farm, and an abundance of fresh milk, yogurt and cheese. There were regularly morning teas, pot luck lunches and dinners when the community would get together which was just lovely.
I was lucky enough to get involved with the animals too and particularly loved getting to know the goats.
The community were so unbelievably welcoming, and incredibly patient with my constant questioning. I'm hugely grateful for my time with them (and have already been back twice for visits, I just can't seem to keep away)
Thank you so muchto the community, you will always have a special place in my heart!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Living for 3 weeks at CFC was an amazing experience! We had such a great welcome, lovely conversations, regularly shared meals and also learned how to make cheese, milk cows and goats. Often we worked with one person, but sometimes with 10 at a time, so the work was often done without feeling we were working! Great to exchange knowledge about

And the place itselves is amazing too. What a building! We love the way you are using it, making it a home for so many people.
A really lovely place to stay and we will definitely come back!
Thank you all at CFC for hosting us!!! We wish you all the best!
We can highly recommend Hilbert &Titia as excellent Workawayers and lovely people: keen to learn, hard-working and conscientious and absolutely lovely to have around!

We had less people here than usual and June can be a very busy time for us. They helped hugely with planting and weeding and all things in the garden. Titia learned to hand-milk the cows and the goats, picking it up very quickly and doing a great job. We had so much milk - and less people on hand to process it. They stepped up and made several different cheeses, fully taking the initiative and seeing the whole process through from start to finish.
They were also a delight socially - joining in with volleyball games, tai-chi, singing, contributing lovely dishes to our communal meals, helping set up for a big party, Hilbert playing accordion at the open mic and both generally being helpful and kind and fitting in very well with our little community.
If you have the chance to host Hilbert & Titia as Workawayers go for it. They're brilliant!Feedback

Alex came for 2 weeks at the beginning of the summer then returned again a few weeks later when one of his other volunteer jobs fell through. We were really happy to welcome him back He is warm and open and got on with everyone. He was a fantastic volunteer - great with any task he was working on. Well, it was probably one of the best places I have ever been in my life!
The members of the community are so nice to you, that you don't really see that you are working with them, it's a deep, honest and enriching moment of sharing...

Vom Host für Workawayer (Lucy)
Lucy came to us at the beginning of a busy summer with many of our own residents away. We asked her to stay on after her first 2 weeks because from day 1 we could see this was a person who was going to be great to have around. Level headed, plenty of initiative, lots of energy, very efficient at all the jobs and just lovely, easygoing person.
She

Having such a sensible and lovely person here for the whole summer volunteering season really helped make it a cohesive group. We would love to welcome her back again

This was a most wonderful workaway experience and I thoroughly recommend a visit to this warm and friendly community. Erica was the fantastic person in charge of volunteers and she looked after us so well and made us feel truly welcome. As this community take volunteers regularly, there is a good routine and all expectations are clearly set out.
… read more We worked 10am to 1 and then 2 to 4pm in general - with coffee and chat breaks too. The tasks are flexible so that volunteers can follow their interests and the work is extremely enjoyable. I learnt how to make cheese, mucked out the hens, weeded the veg plots, planted out cabbages, harvested fruit, stacked hay bales....and much more. There is plenty to do outdoors and the 2 acre veg garden is show stopping. This place is the most wonderful model for living: organic food grown on site and a general zeal for self sufficieny and sustainability. The members I worked with were all keen to share their skills and patient too! It is also a beautiful spot near a pretty market town, Ledbury. I will fondly remember my 2 months here and the people I met. It was very hard to move on.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Angela)
This woman has absolutely everything you could wish for in THE perfect Workawayer... and even more as a genuinely lovely person.
Angela came to us for 2 weeks initially and turned out to be someone we never wanted to let go of. She has been a wonderful positive presence on the farm whenever she is here - a powerhouse in the garden and fields,
… read more and someone with an excellent weather eye for livestock well-being and general care, milking cows & goats and helping us hugely with lambing.
She's also great with children - really knows how to connect and gently encourage them. She did some fun outdoorsy forest school stuff with ours.
Oh, she's an amazing cook too and can produce a feast singlehandedly for 50 or so people (probably more). Did I mention cake? Yes. Gorgeous cakes for tea breaks every time.
She's got a really great attitude, is very practical and ready to turn her hand to anything. We wish she would stay forever but her adventurous soul is leading her on again. We're going to miss her a lot and of course she is welcome back anytime.

Well what can I say about the lovely folks - every single member made me feel so welcomed, the minute I walked into the stunning hallway Erica was there to great me by throwing her arms around me and giving me the biggest hug!
It was wonderful to work with so many different members, milking the goats and cows, tending vegetables, pruning trees

I would love to come back and visit again when I am back in the UK, until then a huge thank you for providing a true home from home.
Love and happiness to you all.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Emma )
Emma is a fantastic Workaway volunteer. We were blessed having her for the 4 months of 2020 when travel and so much else was restricted and times so uncertain. She has many skills and much knowledge and is a really creative thinker. Great fun to be with too. She has now become a firm friend of many of us here and was welcomed back as a long lost

This is a community I wanted to visit for several years, I’ve lived and worked on several rural farms and studied permaculture and tai chi and love this way of life.
I arrived in mid March, lockdown happened and so I stayed for 4 wonderful months!
The work varied from preparing growing beds, propagation and planting out, cheese and jam
… read more making, husbandry for goats, chickens, pigs, sheep and cows, and farm maintenance. Weekends are for larger communal projects when most people are off work, and more people around.
The countryside is stunning, there are bikes and canoes to use to explore, You’ll need a lift to the local town.
There are shared lunches and evening meals and a fantastic array of children, teenagers, young adults, adults and elders, with a huge range of skills.
The accommodation is in the large Manor House, with large kitchen to yourself (others all have their own homes to cook).
It did get lonely in lockdown being the only volunteer, as some take are solo and unable to visit others homes.
There is an on-site shop, although you are well fed! It was so lovely picking your own food from the 2-acre garden for dinner!
I hadn’t laughed so much in years! I loved the stay and it was difficult to leave as felt like home with family and friends.
A magical place and well recommended and looking forward to revisiting.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I would so recommend volunteering for Erica and the lovely residents there. I had a wonderful, interesting and nourishing experience. Erica (& all the people i worked with there) really look after their volunteers in lots of ways (from lifts, to meals, to chats and food plus extra little lovely things). I worked with different people in the

The whole place is really well run. I was given lovely meals in different people's apartments when I was working with them and we had shared pot luck meals once or twice a week, which was delightful. I worked for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week on a great variety of tasks mostly in the beautiful walled garden where they grow the vegetables for the community-I helped to weed, dig, pick and also with the potato harvest (we harvested a tonne of potatoes with many of the community residents). I was very well fed too (with their vegetables and lots of homemade cheeses) and enjoyed my lovely room. I would highly recommend spending some time there, you won't regret it!Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Although we have hosted volunteers here for 40 years through other organisations Marine was our first ever Workawayer - and what a great example she was!
