Myself , my partner, and a friend run a conservation, education and welfare project with a rare breed of pony the small skyrian horse on the beautiful and unspoilt island of Skyros. We are always looking for volunteers who are - experienced with ponies/horses and who are interested in helping to train and care for our herd of very sweet natured, highly intellegent ponies. We also are happy to host people who have hands on experience of animal farm/ smallholding work. We are really looking for volunteers who want to stay three weeks or more as we have found that short stays do not work well with with the ponies or project. If you have experience and love ponies and animals you will really enjoy your stay with us. We are based on a small farm which is near the sea and pine forest, in a traditional Greek area. I am doing my best to support concepts of traveling, humanity, living modestly and naturally without stress, peace and friendship among nations, religions and races, being materially poor but rich from nice experiences. I got a loan from bank in order to buy big old house, just to share it with people who are traveling around. So, now I cannot travel but instead I work hard in order to repay the loan. I work for an employer, so there isn't any commercial profit expected from this volunteer scheme. I am aiming to develop a self-sustaining place for travelers in the future, and not to become rich using free work. So people who come here should expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere; and will find work funny and enjoyable. My house is on the edge of Belgrade, so volunteers have the opportunity to visit the capital during the and return in the evening. My father has a bigger land which is 100km from here, and some guests prefer to spend time there. There is very beautiful landscape with huge (300m) rock, small river, raspberries, animals, and hills around covered with forest. But my father is not able to understand English, so he prefer guests from countries of the former Soviet Union, since Russian is similar as Serbian. He has better accommodation and newer furniture, since my house is poorly equipped. We have another house for accepting volunteers, sometimes. It is in one of Serbia's most well-known touristic places. This house is the first to the waterfalls and national park reservation of nature, and about 15 minutes walk to many hotels and cafes. This house is empty, and we send only our best and must trusted volunteers there, usually in last week of their stay. Summer months: Since I do not have enough time to organise work, food and a good social life for my guests, I would like to accept someone who will be a volunteer manager. He/she will help me in reading requests, accepting/rejecting people, replying to emails, organising what should be done and who should do it, and take care that the people have enough food and everything that they need. This person should be here 2 months or more, and should find someone to continue when he/she goes away. Winter months: I feel very unpleasant for that, but I must ask people to participate in food/wood/electricity cost with 2 EUR/day instead 2 hours of work. So, there is leftover of only 3 hours a day that should be done. Sorry once more, but it is only way to I could accept people in October-February period. I would also like to travel and volunteer for hosts in other countries. Currently only in Europe (do not have enough money to travel away).

We are a family with a 4-year old child and various other animals! We have an old farmhouse in a stunning rural setting, with vineyard and olive grove, which we have renovated ourselves since we moved here six years ago. We also have a medieval ruin which we are in the process of rebuilding. We have a fairly relaxed approach to the agricultural side of things, and focus most of our time on the building work. As such, we could really do with some help keeping on top of the various agricultural demands - in particular olive picking in late October/early November, and vine pruning in the spring. Needless to say, we can also offer willing guests varied experience of traditional stone and lime mortar building techniques. We speak English at home, but have embraced the Italian lifestyle. We have four dogs, two cats, a free range pig, and free range chickens. We grow some, although not all, our own fruit and vegetables, and make our own wine and olive oil. We absolutely love living here - the rural Italian lifestyle, with its emphasis on food, drink, friendship and family. We are developing a 4 acre property in the heart of the Margaret River wine region. We are coming to the end of our house building project and starting to landscape our property. We keep chickens for free range eggs, and run a few sheep. We are totally reliant on rainwater, recycle all of the waste water from our property onto the garden. We balance part time professional jobs with family life on a beautiful rural property, near the bush, beach, wineries and breweries. We are close to some of the best surfing beaches in Western Australia too. We are looking for willing workers to help us out in any aspect of general maintenance, landscaping, planting, sanding, painting, garden maintenance, including weeding and watering, mowing, mulching; housework and ironing. Tasks will dependent on our current projects, helpers skills, experience and fitness level, time of year and the weather. In return we will provide a comfortable private room with own bathroom, linen, bedding, pillows,towels and meals,plus wi-fi internet access, terms negotiable depending on hours worked etc. The expectation is 24 hours a week, with at least 2 free days but longer working days with more days off and flexible start/ finish times can all be negotiated. We offer stays of at least two weeks at a time. We work hard but are easy going and play fair! We are able to collect from the local bus station in Margaret River Town, less than 10 mins away. Town is 7km by road, or a 5km walk on bush trails. There is a strict NO SMOKING policy on the property.

Notice:If you are an experienced horse rider, jumping to 80cm and eventing, we are looking for people from from May 15-June 31. The stay could be longer for the right person. A family run vineyard and horse stud located in the beautiful Hunter Valley just 1hr north west of Sydney, where we train horses and grow Sangiovese-Brunello grapes. Our property is 220 acres with about 20 Haflinger horses. We are family of three Paul, Sharon and daughter (17) who speak English and German. When you're not working there is plenty to do. The historic Wollombi village is located close by, Yengo National Park, the renowned Hunter Valley Vineyards and plenty of trails and walking tracks. We also go to the beach, shopping on the central coast and into Sydney for day trips.
