Help us in our cottage in Vancouver BC, Canada
Description
My husband and I live in Vancouver and have had a cabin on 22 acres of beautiful, private land at the north arm of Shuswap Lake for 20 years. The property is off the grid with natural artesian spring water and hydro and solar power. It is a perfect place to enjoy nature and wildlife.... bears, deer, mouse, bald eagles, etc. with canoeing, paddleboading, fishing and hiking available. We are now in the process of building three more wood cabins.
Area
British Columbia
Type of work
General Maintenance,Building
Work
Any carpentry skills would be an asset but are not essential. We will also be putting in the water and septic system so plumbing skills would be useful. There is also work to do clearing, cutting trees etc.
Languages spoken
English and french
Accommodation
Your accomodation would be in the existing cabin which is very comfortable and has the normal amenities of hot and cold water and flushing toilet.
What else ...
The Shusawp is a beautiful area of British Columbia to explore and is approximately half way between Vancouver and the rockies if you are planning to visit. We could take you from Vancouver up to the Shuswap and return you to Vancouver

We had the best time in Canada at this place! We had such a great time that we are going to visit this place again!

Steve and Leslie's place in the Shuswap is the quintessential Canada. The 22 acre location features several cabins set in between a spring. The property line is surrounded by an untouched national forest that can lead you to mountains, waterfalls, streams, and (of course) the Shuswap Lake.
Steve is a great host. He expects each worker to put in more

Steve is a great host (unfortunately I didn't meet Lesley).
That will be one of your most canadian workaway experience. Go fishing or with the canoe, make fire, pool billiard, good food... just do whatever you want in exchange for 5 hours a day!
Please continue this project, it's amazing
