Area: north Georgia, USA (35 miles north of Atlanta)Primary reason to host would be to offer opportunity to learn or practice and improve English. Myself, I very much want to learn basic French (from a native French speaker). My husband and i travel to France and Germany regularly, and I am frustrated that I cannot communicate effectively. I do not want people with whom I interact to think and feel that I expect them to speak english to me.
Area: HvolsvöllurWe are a farm on the south parts of Iceland, 10 km from Eyjafjallajökull. On our farm we breed horses and we also have a very successful turf company. Our turf company is a family operated, and it has been from the year 1960. During the winter time we train our horses and we are also going over and preparing our machines and out buildings for the summer. The people that are living here is Guðmundur, who is the owner of the farm. And at the moment it´s one staff member, Kim, who has been working at the farm for the last 4 years. We also have 2 dogs, witch Kim owns. There is also 2 cats and 60 horses here. During the summer time it´s usually more staff members working here. Because the turf company is mostly operated during the summer, we also operate the turf company during the winter but in a smaller scale. We are also in tree planting during the summer. We have planted over 100 000 trees and there is a lot more to plant.
