Updated 5th November 2011. Our lives have changed a bit now and I (the mum) work away three days a week in UK. My husband stays full time at our farm. We have just added two pigs to our animals and are still looking for people to come and workaway at our farm. Hi, We are a young family with four children aged between 9 years and 12 months. We are an English couple who relocated to France just over three years ago and have been living in our current house for 3 years. My husband works away during the week and so I need help with looking after the children and the animals during the week. We currently have 1 dog, 5 cats, 3 sheep, 5 pygmy goats, 4 ducks, 35 chickens and 28 chicks. Our house is a large farmhouse in the countryside with lovely views which we are currently trying to renovate and extend. We also have a barn which we hope to renovate into a gite and games room in the future. At present the two oldest children go to school four days a week and my son will start at school in May 2011. On a Wednesday the oldest two children have various activities that they go to. We would prefer a female volunteer who has experience with looking after young children. The accommodation is a double room with television and a bathroom which is shared with the children. We have wifi internet access in the house which can be used by the volunteer if they have a laptop, or if not, my computer can be used to check emails etc. - We currently need help in the next week or two with clearing our vegetable plot so that we can plant some more seeds and plants.

We are a french couple running a guesthouse in Santa Fe, only a few meters from the beach and not very far from the market as well. As PADI Dive Center we can organisen Discovery diving and other levels. We are fond of snorkeling and scuba diving, my husband is actually a PADI. We like nature, music and books. But we would be more than happy to discover new activities or interests with you. We can offer you a private room with AA and a bathroom, WIFI and free use of the laundry. We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on your working days. You will of course, have acces to the swimming pool and the outdoor kitchen if needed. The work is simple and doesn’t need any specific qualifications : general maintenance of the guesthouse and occasional gardening. Being a handyman/woman could also be a bonus as we have many other projects we would like to work on. We are waiting a baby for january, so if you like kids welcome; We have a peacefull life, like to watch movies, reading books and listening to music. Our village is quite calm so if your searching for party and disco it won't be the good place for you!! Notre maison est située à 50 mètres de la plage et nous avons des kayaks à disposition! Nous proposons à nos hôtes une chambre d'ami avec climatiseur, sallde de bain privée, accès à la piscine, à la cuisine extérieure et au WIFI! Les villes de Puerto La Cruz et de Cumanà sont proches si vous avez soif de grandes cités et il y a des tas d'activités à faire près de chez nous et dans les environs. Nous aimons la tranquilit´2 et partager de bons moments en regardant des films. Nous adorons lire et écouter de la musique. Si vous êtes à la recherche de fiestas et de bruit, passez votre chemin! Depuis quelques mois nous avons ouvert une annexe de club PADI. Si vous êtes intéressés nous pourrons vous faire passer vos niveaux. Last minute planning : The barn fixing has finally started, slowly but surely !! We start with the carpentry and will be followed by paletts framed walls then strawbale insulation and clay plastering... so much fun to go. Two important conditions : - We have been applied by a lot of people who only want to improve their language. We are okay with this but we prefer to greet people who are really concerned in sustainable living, nature, animals, human beings .... Language improvement is something that will naturally occur when you leave to a foreign country ! - We can't greet persons under 18 yo, for responsibility matter. Hello workawayer ! Who and where we are : We are Gaelle(29) and Cedric(34) and our family : Doris(9) is Cedric's Daughter And Serge(61), Gaelle's father living with us since early 2012. We live in small village of 500 inhabitants called Taller, in the Southwest of France, in department called "Les Landes". It's 20min driving from the sea, 1 hour from Basque country and Pyrenees mountains. There are some bicycle ways around and thousands of pathways in the pine-tree forest. We've been working as independent for 10 years and tired of the "head over heels" enslaving money system we decided a few years ago to change our way of life to a more natural and human friendly way. We have built our wooden house alone and we've been living in for 4 years. It's not completely finished and that's a good news because it gives us a chance to live in a continuously new house !. It's a low energy "green" house and very comfortable anyway. We have water from a well (natural and potable), heated with solar panels for the shower. We are still connected to the grid for electricity but most of it comes from our old photovoltaic cells and we wish to be off-grid one day building a wind-generator. The house is heated by a rocket-stove mass heater, and the wood we burn in is picked on our land (we have still a big amount of work to split and tidy it) We use to make everything from scratch and enjoy to learn new skills and sharing them. We have finished last year building a straw-bale house for Gaelle's father. He is a baker now retired and makes probably one of the best bread in the world ! He now has his old-fashioned wood-fire bake oven you can see on our profile picture. We live on a 1.3 hectare land and we are developing things around nature to try reach our food and energy autonomy. We collect informations from everywhere and experiment all we can. Sometimes we fail, then we try again, probably the best way to learn. - We have chickens who give eggs every day (we don't eat our chickens, only eggs) - One horse (lawnmower n°1) with who we go for trips in the village with his horse car. - 4 goats who give us milk from May to December - 4 lovely dogs, very playful and really a part of our family Doris has a nanny rabbit, very cute and sweet. We love our animals and can't imagine to eat them one day ! We have prepared a vegetable garden to produce our own food with the permaculture ideas. It's important for us to know what we eat. Gaelle is a perfect cook and if you think that vegetarian food is boring, you will probably change your mind after 2 days at home ! So yes we are vegetarian and will only provide vegetarian food. It means you won't see meat or fishes in your plates at home. We respect people's opinion, and our way to change the world is to show you how life can be different, and then everyone is free to make his own choice. We spend a lot of time doing thousands things on our land. It can seem to be work for some persons but it's such a pleasure to do real things that have a sense that you can be active all day with not too much effort. But we love to take our time too. We enjoy talking and have pleasure so share a good drink around a fire or a good meal, and if you expect French wine and beer to be good, we will have the chance to prove it to you ! We are very interested in how life can be in your place, how you feel about beings, what are your projects, about your travels. We have made the choice to be geographically steady with all the things we have to take care of and workawayers help us to travel through their experiences ! We greet people at home first because it's a great pleasure and then because we do everything by hand and it requires -a lot of hands- !! Besides work, that is mostly outside, we ask you to participate in house keeping and cooking. Yes, it can be funny when we do things together! We go to the sea quite often, and even if it's a great pleasure to sunbathe and swim in summer, we'll show you how beautiful it can be all year long (even if it's a bit cold to swim out of summer !) We love to greet people at home and make parties where you'll have a chance to meet our friends. Doris and our Dogs love to meet new friends and play outside, you'll probably be requested to express your child side ! If you are musician, be welcome, we have a piano and guitars that Cedric tries sometimes to practise ! For the work you'll help us to do, we'll offer you food and accommodation. You can wash you clothes at home. We advice you to take old clothes because some work can be dirty, clay plastering for example. There are a few interesting things to visit in the surroundings : a small pub, old church, lavoir (where people used to wash clothes by hands), a little stream, and forest everywhere. We have some bicycles you can use and you can do horse-riding if you have skills too.

I live in a rural location in the very south of ireland with two of my children. We have dogs, chickens, and cats. We live in a very old world type landscape about 15mins to a beautiful beach the Warren in Rosscarbary and 15mins in the other direction to the town of Skibbereen. We are only one hour away from cork city and 10mins from the bus stop to cork if wanted. The landscape in this part of ireland is really devirse and picturesque.
