In the east of Belgium, 2,5km from the border of Germany, you will find our farm. It is placed in a small village with nearly none public transport – especially at the weekends. Within bikes reach you can find shops for almost everything, cinema, swimming pool with small sauna and fitness – if you are interested in such things. Nature is nearer – that you can find outside the door! Since 2010 the farm is completely biological – we produce milk, but also meet – were it starts to get a bit more complicated in the minds of the people today. So, if you are really interested to know, how farmers make there living, how cows live, how pigs grow up, sheep’s, chicken, ducks and horses and their way of life – come and have a look! It is different to that, what you may have seen at PETA or in the news. It is our life and living and we would offer you a “walk in our shoes”. Last year we could welcome young people from everywhere in the world. We were happy to show them, how we live and how we go on with the animals. But we were so surprised by our visitors that they are not only within short time “part of the family” but also in a few days “part of the team”. People that had in their normal life nothing to do with agriculture helped with what they can – and because everyone is different, everyone has different possibilities to give a hand. For 2013 we have the following plans: January to mid March Renovation in the house – we have no possibility to have a volunteer then. Mid March to Mai Start of working outside: Gardening and controlling fences Stable: When the cows are out – once we had to clean everything. Work in the house: Isolation of the new roof with clay and wood. Here we would welcome especially someone with knowledge in clay work. The heating system is also scheduled in this time, also built with clay. We do a lot of work in the room’s first floor, especially with the wall heating and the plastering with clay. May June July and august are normally the harvesting month for hay and silo, we milk outside in this month, there is not a lot to do in the stables. August to September Really a lot of births are scheduled at the cows. We would like to finish the attic so this will be the new guestroom for our volunteers. Heating included, so that from this date on, visits over winter are possible. We think of this date also for the renovation in the kitchen and the entrance. Most harvest in the garden is done in this period. October to November Return of the animals in the stables. In November the ordered Animals are slaughtered and the people come for the meet. After that we have only the daily care for all animals until March… and what is left over from those renovations we would like to do but did not manage to. In my special schedule I had since Teri visited us in spring the idea of an own sauna – I am not shore if I could manage it in the autumn, but perhaps everything works so well, that it is possible? You should ever have dreams…. That gives you the drive for going on. Now you have an overview on what we have and plan – here, what we are: Walter 56) and Andrea (46) professional biological farmers on around 90ha in two specialised systems: 50ha milking farm with around 40 cows, 40ha working especially for more biological biodiversity. We are an official training compay in Belgium for agricultural jobs. Walter is the one for planing and all for the machines, I am for house, garden and all animals. Walter likes good meals, good talks and a nice cup of coffee, I like cooking, gardening and reading. When I shoud say it in a few words – he’s the on that has to make my dreams reality.

The Sicily is an island and we'd love our children could learn others languages and others way of life. We're absolutely sure that meeting people coming form other countries is the best way to learn.

We are looking for 1 0r 2 people any time of the year.....there is two of us in total, Paul and Claire. we have a landscape / nursury yard in our closest town that is open 7 days a week, sometimes there is not a lot to do at the yard so it may be expected to be on our farm, our home. looking after animals, farm work, or garden and home maintence, while we are at work. We have home cooked meals every week night involving home grown vegetables and meat, weekends may tend to be a bit more casual with lighter meals or bbqs. we live 10 minutes out of town, wynyard being our home town, which is where our landscape yard is. popular tourist destinations are not far travelling distances, involving such places as Launceston, Cradle mountain, Smithton, and Straghn, creating a nice area for our visitors to visit in their free time. We think it would be lovely to share our little piece of country life with someone, making a stay with us enjoyable by both parties. We don't get a lot of time off from the yard and farm, but when we can we may be able to take you places to get a look around, other wise we can guide you and help you get to places for a look. we guarrentee a warm welcome into our own home.
