Area: SkagafjordurWe live in a beautiful area in the northern part of Iceland called Skagafjörður. Our farm is an expanding dairy farm but me and my husband are taking over the business from my parents which also live here (separate houses). We have four children, two small and two grown (16 and 17 years). The smaller ones are a 10 months old girl and a boy of 3 years. My husband works full time on the farm but I´m an elementary school teacher and my work starts in mid august. My children will both be at kindergarten. We need someone to look after the smaller children at times, and someone who is willing to take part in all kinds of work around the farm. Milking cows and helping out with the sheep but also able to help around the house and make occasional meal. Minimum time spent with us is 6 weeks. We are a likable bunch and have a very lively household with a lot of laughter. The best way to get to know us a little bit better is to contact me and I will answer all of your questions.

Area: Rural, andean mountains rural life style. Our organisation is a family-based and very small ecologist Foundation, we contribute to protect andean mounts (east side of colombian andean system), its ecosystem and biodiversity, for as much as we can (which is just a bit from what is needed). The volunteer program we offer is for either (1) interchange with some farm work -different options- at one lovely rural place we have in Gámbita -Santander, Col- at 1,900 m of altitude, surrounded by great mountains and the east Andes mountain chain, waterfalls, rivers and basically a pure nature spot, close but not affected by urban life; or (2) cultural interchange, teaching (languages, arts, music and/or different skills) to rural kids from the village, in the same nature spot previoulsly stated -Gámbita-. In both we expect 4 hrs of daily work, and there is a small weekly cost involved (USD 70 for option 1, and 90 for option 2), this helps us to cover some administration costs to keep our Foundation running, and to fund periodical investsments we do in the spot to make it better for visitors and volunteers. We expect a minimum stay of 2 weeks (ideally 4+). In exchange, we offer accomodation and food (3 meals, traditional food from that region), and of course the chance to be connected to an espectacular andean ecosystem, and at the same time to disconnect from modernity and urban-like life style, having this unique chance to share cultural backgrounds with locals, to touch their lives and be touched by them. It is compulsory for candidates to have a basic spanish (to communicate with locals).
Area: Central Luzon, 6hrs north of ManilaCome and join us and expand your Philippine experience in a unique way. We're a whole life education center based around an organic farm with 99% of our guests coming from overseas. . The property right now is 1.2 hectares with plans to grow this to 3 hectares over the next 3 years. The farm's focus is education. From mid 2014 we will start running courses on natural health, organic gardening, bio farming, entrepreneurship, integrated spiritually, whole life living and more. The Farm was founded in late 2012. Previously it was a traditional rural rice farm. Rice is still grown on the property - we have five rice paddies and one large sloping field and a large vegi garden. Development of the property began in mid 2013 and is ongoing with plans for a full water recycling system using reeds, bio gas production from the sewerage, swimming pool, fish farm, underground water tanks and full soil management and recovery systems. We welcome guests from all countries but we ask that you stay for a minimum of 7 days. This is so that we have the time to get to know you and make your stay a great experience for you and for us. We are converting the farm over to organic agriculture. No chemicals or inorganic fertilizers are used on the farm since we purchased the property. We are now using worm farming, nitrifying weed vines and Kardis (pigeon pea) to regenerate the soil. Our focus is to create a magic space where people can come from around the world and connect to nature and themselves and learn new ways of living life with ease, abundance, simplicity and fun. We need help with building - garden creation, weeding, planting, tree care, harvesting, planting trees, composting and general property care and a little child care some times. Your hosts are David (New Zealander) and Carol (Filipina) with our little Kyra who is one and a half years old right now. We can accommodate around seven people but we normally have just 3 or 4 guests at a time. Accommodation is in our shared guest room, garden cobbo and camping if good weather. All spaces have power, fans and mattresses. We will start work on completing the guest rooms in the ground floor of the main house soon which will include a large space for guests to relax in away from the main house. Looking forward to seeing you very soon :) David, Carol and Little Kyra
Area: AndaluciaWe are two musicians (48-60, chilean and english) and two teenagers daughters who live in the country side very near to Granada. We generally like to meet new people and learn through exchange of experience. We would like that people coming to stay with us feel comfortable and choose spontanously how they like to help. I spend many months on my own with the kids, and can not take care of the garden and house maintenance. I feel extremely greatfull when somebody comes around and leave a personal sign in the place, and our memories. We believe that another wworld is possible, away from money and consumerists values. Our house is a little organic cottage, very improvised and green, for andalusian average. We are 10 kms away from the city center, well connected by bus The place where guests stay, is independant from the family and beautiful. Monica
