Area: LisbonA small Hostel located in Graça one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Lisbon, and inside a unique and exquisite palace from the 16th century. It's at walking distance to many interesting spots of Lisbon, like São Jorge Castle, Feira da Ladra (flea-market), three of the greatest viewpoints of the city : Miradouro da Graça, Senhora do Monte and Santa Luzia, etc. Nearby you also have a lot of bus stops and subway to all city directions, and the stop for the famous and rustic tram in the city, the 28 - locally known as "the yellow" - , just one minute walk from our front door.
Area: Upper AustriaHi there, I have recently moved to a farm in a little village in Upper Austria, close to the border of Germany/Bavaria and the Czech rep., located between Passau and Linz. The countryside is very beautiful for walking, biking, riding or just to relax. A swimming lake is a short hop from here and in the wintertime is it possible to go skiing in a ski resort close by. For those who have fun in golfing, there is a golf court too, and my neighbor has a tennis court. I am in mid- 40's, own 6 Icelandic horses and 3 cats and I am currently building my home here. Originally, I am from Munich but have traveled a long time around Austria (and a little through Iceland:) since I came here to settle down, in order to have all my animals nearby and lots of fresh air... I have several professions but my favourite one is to work with people (and) with horses. Besides that, I love to grow my own food. One of my hobbies is to sing, so if you are a musician, it would be great if we could practice together. (e-piano available)
Area: Carinthia/SpittalHi, workawayer We are a family with two children (Rosa 6, Flora 4) and two cats (Lola, Balu). We are living in a small town (16.000 inhabits) closed to a big lake and high mountains. The main reason to take a workaway is to meet people form other countries with other culture and to practice our english. Therefore we would like to have a good english speaker who want´s to stay for 1 or 2 months in spring. We life in a nice house with a big garden in the middle of the town.
Area: EnglandI have a large house which is right on the beach at Shoreham, West Sussex (southern England). It is in an amazing setting. You walk out of the back gate straight on to the pebble beach. The high tide mark is about 70 m away and at night if you open your window you can fall asleep to the sound of the waves. I bought the house in November 2011 and am making slow changes to it. I am a good communicator and will be happy to chat with you to help improve your English practice. I used to be a journalist and sub-editor so should be reasonably expert in which are the correct words to use when speaking English. I live with my partner who is at work during the day - though I am usually at home all day except when I go shopping etc. I have three grown up sons but they all live away from home. I am a writer and spend quite a lot of time on the computer. I have a beloved dog Graf so you should be an animal lover. He is quite mature now being aged 11. Mark has a West Highland terrier called Daisy, she is really intelligent and is a real character. She is only 2. We have a bus service right outside our door (no 19) and this can take you to Shoreham train station from where you can get to most parts of the UK. I also have bicycles which you could use to get to the nearest town, Shoreham. Please have a look at Shoreham Beach on Google maps so you can get an idea of what I am talking about. Please note though that if you ride to Brighton by bicycle it can take 45 minutes one way. If you are the sort of person who needs to go out a lot, then you may find the beach a bit isolated. Please think carefully about this. Its also fun to ride along Shoreham beach and there is a coastal cycle path to Worthing in the west about 7 miles away.
Area: CataloniaWe are a small family, just one kid, she is 12 years old and starting high school next September. What we are looking for is some help to improve her English and Maths.
