I´am sure we have a greatful time together! I hope you have time and fun to come. Our farm is located on the outskirts of a small wine village. All this in a peaceful, scenic area with plenty of space, ancient forests, rolling hills and a river right outside the door. At the same time close to famous cities such as Rothenburg oT, Nuremberg, Wurzburg, Dinkelsbuehl and many small picturesque historic town. Our philosophy: A natural leader comes from within, so we throw through meditation and movement exercises to look inward and to their own state of mind. Only when the body, mind and soul are in harmony, authentic leadership is possible. We offer the ideal place with a lot of rest in a beautiful environment, and physical balance while to get back to himself to be found.
Area: Poitou CharentesWe are retired, english speakers, Rhiannon was a secondary school teacher, Richard was a school bursar. We worked in Kenya, teaching and running a school farm for 13 years and had VSO's and NGO volunteers living with us during that time. We came to live in France 16 years ago for the space and the peace and to be able to offer hospitality to friends and family in the Kenyan manner, ie open door. We have 3 grown up children.. The eldest lives in UK, with 3 sons. The second lives in S France and works in Brussels, with a Danish wife and 1 daughter. The third lives in Austria, with 2 sons, so we are European in outlook. We would welcome non native english speakers who want to improve their english language skills. We are practicing Christians and worship on Sundays with the Anglican chaplaincy of Poitou Charentes
Area: British ColumbiaFamily of four with high school and university age girls Mother is An English teacher/ husband retired living part time in separate dwelling We are very active in outdoors and the girls are active in their music Hoping to make our backyard/garden a sanctuary
Area: CorkLouis is 9 and Matilda is 7 and we live in the beautiful fishing village of Ballycotton in Co. Cork. The kids and I enjoy food, nature and socialising. Louis loves hanging out with his friends, soccer and computer games and Matilda loves to draw, pretend to be teacher with her teddies, loves tidying her room and playing with her friends and I like writing, running, baking and life! We appreciate our breathtaking surroundings and wonderful community. We also have a cat called Magic and a fish called Kitty.
Area: Midi PyreneesWe are a couple who live and work in the hills between Toulouse and the Pyrenees, in the south of France. Gaia is Italian, I'm British, Linden is our 6 month old baby boy and we have a dog and a cat. At the moment we are looking for a reliable trustworthy couple who can house-sit for us for a few weeks while we're away. We are leaving for a tour with our band which will take us to Provence, England and then Italy before returning in the second week of august. Your work will not be too stressful, but you will need to feed the cat and tend the vegetable patch, strim the garden etc. We have a gypsy caravan that needs restoring, and, if you have relevant skills we may ask you to get started on this, and our aquaponics system (fish and vegetables living in synergie... in batchtubs) could do with being installed and tested.... our village is quite isolated, so you'll need either a car, or a string pair of cycling legs to get to the markets and shops. However we have a lot of frined in the area who will be happy to involve you in what's going on in the area. This is a great chance to see this area in the summer, where there are colourful markets, music, street theatre, fetes and other gatherings practically all the time. We'd prefer a couple and someone who can be here ASAP! About us: We work in the creative arts, I am a one-man-band in the traditional, drum kit on the back and playing multiple instruments together, sense. Gaia graduated in Indian languages and she is a street performer. We run a number of music based projects from here mainly based upon intercultural collaboration and we have a small recording studio here where we bring together musicians from around the world 2 or 3 times a year. We are trying to develop our lives as independently as possible. We run a small record label from here, an association for the diffusion of cultural and artistic activities, and we have musical activities developing all the time. We are also hoping to put an aquaponics system in place this spring, some raised vegetable beds, get some chickens buld a coop, plant fruit trees and much more. we live as simply as we can, we're miles from supermarkets so we go maybe once every 6 weeks to stock up on essentials - what we can't make, grow or buy from local markets, we make beer, mozarella (with plans for other cheeses) and so on. we'd like to do some redecorating perhaps, but we never have the time, we eat everything as long as it's local, non GM and preferably organic, that doesn't mean we can't cater for vegetarians but we do eat meat that either comes from local farms or from our back yard! We don't have much land but we do want to maximise it. Talula our border collie is 2 years old and is completely and utterly insane - in a good way, she's extremely gentle and sweet natured but she is obsessed with tennis balls to a disturbing degree, and this can be distracting - hitting balls into the field with a hurley (hockey stick) is a large part of any workawayers job!
