Area: GaliciaI am Spanish born, married to an English man. We are a retired couple living in Spain for most of the year. We have an old restored country house and a large garden and greenhouse that I can no longer cope with on my own. At the moment I am restoring some old wooden furniture and would also appreciate anyone with some experience of this,or someone w illing to help me.
Area: SaskatchewanWe have a ranch with 70 beef cows and their calves, several horses, a donkey, a goat, two sheep, two llamas and numerous cats and dogs. In winter you can help us feed and check on the animals and spring is our calving season. In summer you can help us with hauling the hay bales (round bales) from the field to the home yard (using tractors and bale wagons), check & mend fences, vaccinate calves & do other veterinary work. Also help train the younger horses. In the fall we bring the cows home from the summer pasture to the yard where they are fed hay daily. We also would like you to help with general household duties as part of our family. Lots of opportunities to ride horses (either english or western, if you would like to learn to ride, I (Marilyn) could teach you to ride in a safe environment) fishing, canoeing, pick berries, and watch abundant wild-life – elk, deer, coyote, & fox. We have fishing equipment and a boat. Two generations of families live on the farm yard and you will be part of our family. There may be opportunities to go on trail rides of several days. If you are mechanically inclined we have a heated well equipped farm shop and we always have machinery which needs maintenance and repairs. An International driver’s license would be an asset. We have a vehicle for you to explore the area. I am just learning to use the computer, so any help would be well appreciated. Sincerely Marilyn
Area: PeloponneseWe are Harry and Maureen, an English couple, with a place of approximately 2 and half acres and 60 olive trees. We have been holidaying in Greece for over 30 years and one year whilst travelling down the west coast we came across this plot of land and fell in love with it. We have two small holiday homes on it and the views are breathtaking.
Area: Languedoc RoussillonHello everyone Im am an architect/designer/photographer and I have a house in the Languedoc region of the South of France close to Narbonne. The house is situated in a small village typical of the region, and is surrounded by vineyards and close to the Canal du Midi. For some time I have harboured a dream to turn the house into an 'eco' hostel and establish a design cooperative. I feel that the time to turn this dream into reality is now and am looking for people to join me in what Im sure will be an interesting and exciting venture. The plan is embryonic at the moment but falls into 3 parts: 1) Conversion of the house into an 'Eco' hostel offering basic but affordable board and lodging to travellers. ( - The eco part will be largely through the use of solar power, and/or other alternative energy sources, recycling, and reuse of water etc, and the provision and incorporating fresh/organic produce (I have a small garden) 2) The conversion of a part of the ground floor of the house into a workshop for the production and manufacture of sustainble furniture/design/ sculpture art and craftworks. 3) Offering courses/workshops in eco design/architecture/ yoga/ photography/ painting/ writing /drama You can check out pics of the the house through my website URL -Chez Mwaah! So if your interested in joining me or want to know more please post here, or contact me! Look forward to hearing from you! Myles Update: Have been let down by a no show workawayer so am urgently looking for a replacement.for the next couple of weeks.. Its not essential but would be really useful if you genuinely have a bit of experience in building/ diy or joinery/ decoration.
