Dear reader!

I am Agnete, a 21-year-old female, who wants to spend some time in Spain to encounter culture and nature that is different from what I am used to, but also very much to become familiar with the beautiful Spanish language! :-)

Born and raised in Denmark, on a small farm in the countryside with cats, chickens, and 22 hectares of land, I have a predilection for nature, animals, and the peace and quiet. About a year ago, I moved to the city of Aarhus with my twin-sister, where I currently live in a lovely apartment in the hustle and bustle of the city. In Aarhus, I spend my free time singing in a choir, reading books, attending concerts and other social events with my friends, and listening to a broad spectrum of podcasts.

I am particularly enthusiastic about birdwatching, learning language (especially nearly extinct idioms to color my vocabulary), and (when the Danish weather allows it) enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing, picking mushrooms and going for walks.

Before I start university, I would love to broaden my perspectives in another country; preferably in a rural area with nature to explore, gardening/farming techniques to learn, and people to socialize with. As a person, I consider myself to be sociable, easily adaptable, and curious about the world and the differences of people, both when it comes to cultural differences, but also when it comes to life-approaches, and which activities bring us joy in our everyday-life!

I do not yet have any experience with using Workaway or working abroad – however, I am eager to get started with doing volunteer work. I am looking forward to exchange language and culture with the hosts.

Doing my three years in the gymnasium, I have had lessons in Spanish, which means that I speak, read, and understand basic Spanish. Currently, my overall Spanish skills are limited, but I believe that patience, persistence, gestures, and open-mindedness will get you extremely far. One of the main reasons why I want to travel to Spain, is to improve my Spanish skills, as I think it is a lovely language! I speak English fluently, and would happily speak English as well as teach you a word or two (or even more), if you want. Danish is my mother language, so if you have the slightest interest in learning Danish, I will be available at all times.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

During the last year, I have worked full-time in an electricity company, where I have been administrating our solar-plant settlement department. When responding to mails and calls from our costumers, it has been important to me that the costumers felt well-informed and met “where they are”. Those values are based on my general approach when doing all sorts of work. Even though, I do not have a lot of experience with neither gardening nor agriculture, I am very eager to learn. When I work, I demonstrate thoroughness (no soy un chapucero) , am willing to learn new tasks, and I am equipped with a whole lot of patience. :-)
