We were given use of an 100 year old Japanese farmhouse and the several acres of land around it early February 20121. The house itself is in urgent need of repair, and a new roof. For the time being we are living in the next door barn which as bedrooms and a basic kitchen, dining area, showers and composting toilets.
The farm consists of 3 pieces of terraced land near the top of the hill surrounded by forest near the top of the hill and is beautiful and as peaceful as you can wish for. The land has not been used for many many years and is overrun and needs work and care to bring it into sustainable use.
Our plans are to turn the land into as much of a permaculture based community of like minded people. To learn and preserve old Japanese methods of farming so that these can be shared with guests coming to the farm.
We also will add glamping tents to the site to increase the accommodation and to run yoga/meditation and other healing retreats.
The project has been started by Tim a long time resident of Japan. He has been searching for land to turn into a retreat for some years. After failed attempts in Australia and Nepal the land became available and we now have permission to use the area.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

We have 2 shared rooms in our converted barn and large glamping tents. Personal tents are also welcome. The farm is only a few months old. While the sleeping and living area of the Barn is comfortable the kitchen and dining area are basic, as are the showers, we do have plenty of hot water tho. All toilets are composting system toilets.
Food is cooked both individually and communially and we need workawayers to help with cooking, be it their own food or in preparation of communal food.Algo más...
Any time off can be spent exploring the area, there are temples, beautiful countryside, beaches and the whole Boso peninsula. Transport is by bus from Kamogawa town. The farm is 3 km from the bus.
