  • Description

A lifelong traveler/global citizen, I love connecting with people around the world (especially in various languages). I'm a relentless optimist and social entrepreneur, passionate about the intersection of creative expression, sport/physical practice, and food. I have a varied background in work, including fitness instruction, as a tour guide of food tours and history tours, working at a rock climbing gym, leading marketing campaigns, starting a sweet potato-based food company, Uber driving, and customer service. I recently started gaining more experience in woodworking while helping a family friend, and have dabbled in painting and glassworking.

From December 2022 - June 2023, I traveled around the world helping through Workaway (in Vietnam, Nepal, Oman, Tunisia, Switzerland, and France), or visiting family and friends in various places along the way. In March of 2024, I visited Peru, joining two Workaway projects in Ica and Arequipa.

Now, I'm back in Boston, currently working several jobs/creative projects/businesses and am looking to keep some time to be able to join Workaway projects during time off.

I speak English natively and conversationally fluent in French, and am actively working on bringing up my Spanish to the competence I have in French, and am slowly learning more Norwegian (part of my family roots).

I'm from Worcester, Massachusetts in the USA, and have lived in Boston the majority of my adult life since attending Boston University. I also lived in England and Australia as a child for 6 months to a year each. More recently I lived in Lyon, France for a few months before the Covid-19 pandemic, intending to relocate and start a business there (that project has since paused), as well as taking more advanced language classes there, and performing in a multilingual poetry-related theater production "Passeurs d'Europe".

  • More details about your skills

I love learning new things and trying new projects! So I've gathered a wide range of skills. My most recent experiences have been in developing a sustainable and vegan sweet-potato-based ice cream company and running operations for it, developing a prototype for fitness equipment, and running an at-home fitness company. As well as practicing and improving at writing poetry and spoken word performances, turning that poetry into produced music tracks, and visualizing that poetry with painting, photography, and video.

I have Workaway-specific experience from helping previous hosts in: motorbike safety, hostel operations, helping harvest roots and planting potatoes, event photography, business photography, sports performance coaching, permaculture and landscape design, and gardening for aesthetics. Recently, this included designing logos for a Peruvian avocado farming association and visual guides for a rock climbing gym, as well as taking doing photography for both.

Here's a more bulleted list of skills top-of-mind: photography, videography, video editing, copywriting, graphic design, social media marketing, etc, as well as business-building, manual labor (basic building, woodworking, painting, etc), sustainability practices for operations, team-building and communications, health and wellness (certified as a: personal trainer, athletic development specialist, nutrition coach, food safety, mental health and exercise awareness, CPR/First Aid), basic training in additive manufacturing applications, experience studying sustainable food systems and working towards creating them from the perspective of a brand/vendor, native English speaker, and fluent in French.

  • What else ...

I love music of all kinds, I'm a photographer, and I write a lot of poetry (as much as I can I try to write in multiple languages too)! I am an athlete and avid exerciser, I've run two marathons so far and numerous races of shorter distances, and enjoy essentially every sport, with athletics being a central focus of my life growing up.

And I love cooking, food, and the story and experience of food: local foods and flavors around the world to explore and share, how they can be combined and adjusted; big fan of "freestyle" or intuitive cooking, relying on understanding of flavor profiles and experimenting with the feeling, more so than following recipes.
