Hey! 🧡

We’re Sylvain and her 17 years old girl Anaïs ☀️

We're back from a 3 and a half years travel around the world with a Tiny House, and a year living in Reunion Island (small French Island in Indian Ocean). After all these great adventures, we're back living in a non-moving house (at least for some time at the beginning) but as we would like to still experiment meeting new people and living amazing moments, we decided to sign up on Workaway!

We already had a volunteer experience during our travel, at a kenyan Victoria Lake’s Island. The three weeks we spent there, helping to build a clinic and spending amazing time with locals and other workawayers were so incredibly fantastic! Anaïs also had a sweet adventure in Switzerland, for 2 weeks helping Eva with her cottage and farm, at the end of 2023's summer. And now we’re looking for some new adventures like that ☀️

To tell you a little more about us…
Sylvain is someone who simply doesn’t want routine, overpriced hotels or empty conversations, but sunrises and sunsets, old trucks, beers with amazing views, clear nights full of stars, road trips with windows down and tiny homes made of wood.
And her daughter Anaïs, while a lot of people says she is like a little sun in their lives 🧡, considers herself as a lover of foreign hearts and exotic minds, as a little person who just wants to live in the sunshine and go barefoot and have messy hair and swim in the sea and drink the wild air, maybe also as an artist who just wants people to smile and be happy.

We both love how people sparkle when they speak about things they love and how they fill with light whenever good little moments are happening.

More details about my language interests
French is our first language and we do can teach you some words or help you become a bit more fluent!Sylvain understands and speaks English, while he is not entirely fluent (but you’ll always be able to communicate with him using this language!).Anaïs learned English while traveling, so according to academic grammar, conjugation and lexicon, it might not be perfect, but it’s still a very understandable English! And she enjoys speaking english so much so waw it’s amazing when she’s able to speak with English speakers for many days ✨We both began to really speak Spanish in South America. Anaïs were 9 years old so she lost a bit about it but can still understand a lot! Might take a few days to be able to speak quite fluently again for her…Anaïs enjoyed her attraction to languages to begin learning Esperanto! She isn’t able to speak and maybe not to understand everything, but one more time it would be nice to teach you some words! And it would be so amazing if some persons at the workaway would be able to speak it too!Anaïs also knows some words of Afrikaans, Turkish, Swahili, and Luo, and will be happy to learn more languages!

Sylvain will enjoy to take part in all of your projects, particularly the crafty ones! He has a good experience in building things, he enjoys leading new projects and will like to teach you stuff and discover new things thanks to you!
And Anaïs will be so happy to discover all the skills she’ll get while working with you! She’s very patient and persevering while learning new stuff. She’d also be happy to help you in any kind of artistic project, such as wall painting, logo making, signs, diy’s… 🧡 Anaïs is also a self-taught photographer and videomaker (beginner but enjoying the process) so if ever you’re looking for some pictures of you or your place, or a little video, it would be a pleasure!

What else ...

Here they told us to write about “any other relevant info” and then reminded us about “perhaps which board games you play” and wowow you have to know about Anaïs being a big fan of any type of board games. If you want to, she’ll obviously play with you at / teach you about games such as Quarto and Dixit. Can’t wait for us to play board games together! Oh and she’s also a big fan of handmade bracelets, you’ll obviously get some 🧡

Some more random infos…
- our pronoms are he/him (for Sylvain) and she/her (for Anaïs).
- Anaïs is homeschooled and created her own school program.
- we know a lot of good music with French lyrics if ever you want to sing a language before learning it (it’s an incredible feeling).
- if it involves mountains, sea, breakfast food, hot chocolates or campfires - we’re in.
- Anaïs is 17 so she doesn’t have her driver licence.
- Anaïs owns a LOT of Pinterest boards so that she always has a LOT of ideas for things to do.
- we’re always happy to discover new stuff, either food, languages, musics, skills…
- we enjoy sharing our experiences, so if ever you know a class / group of person who would like to speak with us about family traveling by exemple, it would be a nice project to come up with!
- that’s a very random info, but life is made for strange adventures, dancing under the rain and any kind of happy moment.
