Description
I'm Nicolas, 28 years old, born and raised in Italy though I feel a child of the world.
I grew up thinking that life was all about correctly choosing one of the predetermined paths my culture showed me. And they often looked something like: school, then university, then prestigious job, then love, big house, family, car and money. For years I lived with this perspective in my mind but I felt that something important was going wrong for me.
I got my master's degree in computer science. I imagined myself in front of a desk working as a programmer in an office 5 days a week, 8-9 hours a day, the rest of my life. I quickly realized that I would rather live a less comfortable and more difficult life but following my inner self with a smile on my face, instead of living following the path that society decided for me and being sadly consumed by it.
I started reading inspirational books on personal development and some travellers' biographies which showed me new perspectives I had never considered. I also joined a meditation group in Italy and met people surrounded by energies I had never felt before.
I applied for a Working Holiday Visa and purchased a one-way airline ticket to Canada. I lived for 6 months and worked in Vancouver as a carpenter, then as a baker. I stayed in a shared house with ten young people from all over the world, skied in the mountains, and swam in the Pacific Ocean for the first time! I created a blog and wrote articles about travel and spirituality.
Then my second big travel, working as a workawayer in exchange for food and accomodation: in Vietnam for 3 months from October 2023, then 1 month in Cambodia, and 1 and a half months in Australia.Interests
