Hello, everyone! I am extremely excited to be a part of the WorkAway community. I believe my purpose in life is to enjoy and experience as much as I can, and WorkAway has created an amazing avenue to do so. I am inspired by people who shrug off the societal expectation to forego everything in pursuit of a career, money, etc. All across our planet, the human race is so incredibly diverse. Traveling gives one the chance to explore and embrace this diversity, while also helping one realize this world doesn't revolve around them, alone. Every culture has so much to offer, and I want to experience this first hand. I have an easy going personality and work well with others in team scenarios. I am also very handy, I have been a professional mechanic for nearly a decade. I love the outdoors, as well. My interests include rock climbing, camping, hiking, and trail running.

I have worked as a heavy equipment/construction equipment repairman for almost 10 years. I also have a fair amount of home repair experience ranging from small plumbing repairs to roofing and the like. I enjoy working with my hands and solving technical problems.

What else ...

I know it's pretty trendy, but I have recently fallen in love with outdoor rock climbing. My wife and I took an anchor building class and it has been "game on" ever since. I recently learned the technical aspects to top rope-soloing and that has been very exciting. I am really looking forward to learning the processes for traditional and multipitch climbing, in due time.

I have traveled locally, in the US and to 5 or 6 European countries, but always as a tourist. While traveling in this capacity is deeply inspiring, I feel there is much to gain when traveling as a volunteer. I am excited to explore a different kind of connection with people from all over the world, as well as, learning to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
