Description
Hello! My name is Lane Joslin. I graduated from high school last spring, and am now on a gap year.
I love playing soccer, writing, watching movies, hanging out with friends and family, and staying active. I have a bubbly, positive, engaged personality and am a very hard worker. I am also a passionate advocate for equality for all.
For the first part of my gap year, I traveled with a company called Where There Be Dragons to Nepal for 2 and 1/2 months. Through this program, I trekked for several weeks in the Himalayas, completed two culturally immersive home-stays, and went to a retreat at a Buddhist monastery. The experience was incredible, and taught me the value of cultural exchange and finding a home in the unknown.
Through workaway, I hope to expose myself to different ways of living and thinking about the world, and perhaps make a few friends along the way! I love traveling and meeting new people.
Looking forward to a new year with new experiences and people!

I have worked at a local seafood restaurant for the past 5 years: two years as a dishwasher, and three years as a hostess and expo. Not only did this teach me the value of getting my hands dirty and allow me to sharpen my customer service skills, but I also learned the ins and out of how restaurants work.
I also worked as a Counselor in Training at a summer theatre camp. This, combined with my experience in babysitting for the past two summers, taught me how to work with kids. I learned how to be fun and entertaining whilst being responsible and solving the unpredictable problems that can come with kids.
Lastly, this past summer, I worked for a progressive grassroots organization called the New Hampshire Youth Movement. Through this work, I talked to hundreds of residents of NH about addressing the affordable housing crisis. My ability to truly listen to people improved significantly as I heard their firsthand experiences with homelessness.
I am a hard working person who has great organization, communication and time management skills, and I am very good with kids.Age

I stayed for 2 weeks and was sad I couldn't stay longer. I learned so much about how permaculture projects work, which was fascinating.
Ana and Luuk are also wonderful company and quite pleasant to be around.
I also think it's quite admirable how they truly try to ensure that… read more
