Description

Hello, my name is Lena. I'm taking a year to travel and get to know myself better before continuing on to post-secondary school next year. I enjoy cooking and gardening a lot at home. I have done lots of traveling with my family so I am very eager to explore and learn about new places and cultures. I joined Workaway to travel and get a firsthand experience of other countries. I love and am looking to meet new people and learn about different cultures.
I also absolutely love hiking and backpacking and I am looking to explore NZ more off the beaten track!
I have two cats back at home and I love working and caring for all animals

I have lots of experience with gardening and cooking. I recently did a local farm stay for two weeks. I learned lots about gardening, seed preservation, fermenting foods, etc. I really like people and I have strong communication skills. I'm well organized, punctual, and hard working.

What else ...

I was in a Leadership program throughout secondary school that had a main focus on sustainability and ecology. I have participated in lots of ecological projects and have experience with that, including invasive species removal.

I really enjoy cooking and have just started experimenting with fermented foods. I currently have a sourdough loaf on the go and some homemade yogurt. I would love to expand my knowledge by learning more about preparing foods from around the world.
