I'm an artist and virtual community organizer. I make arts using all kinds of media: film, VR, music, graphics, etc. But I mostly focus on creating social/community art projects.

Hello! Mambo! 你好！

My name is Kadallah Burrowes, and I come from a long line of travelers. My grandparents moved from Jamaica to Liberia before having my father, he moved from Liberia to America for university, and I moved to Shanghai, China for my undergraduate degree where I lived for 3 years. When I first moved to Shanghai, I had never left America, but I quickly realized that a life abroad was the life for me.

I consider myself an artist first and foremost. I studied Interactive Media Arts with a focus on narrative virtual reality, but I have also worked as a freelance photographer and at a mosaic studio for many years. I find myself most at home in underground art and music communities, and I do a lot of work in artist organizing: how do we work together to support each other through consensus decision making, collective budgeting, etc. so that we can grow together instead of fighting against one another.

I love the planet and volunteering! I have worked on farms, volunteered in schools, and helped at monasteries around China and Taiwan, and would love to continue to help others in any way possible.

I have experience teaching and tutoring English to all ages in China. I have experiencing farming on a family farm, in a commune, and at a large farm with greenhouses and an aquaponics system. I have professional photography experience and experience working in a professional art studio. I have web development experience, and I am looking to get even more!
