New Zealand - from Mar 2024 until May 2024 View allDescription
Tadas and I are planning to travel 2024. We are hoping to find an opportunity that would let us experience new corners of the earth together while making a positive impact where we go.
Justina: One of my motivators is to be able to participate in sustainable agriculture/permaculture, take care of animals, and simply helping with whatever people need. When I feel that my help is needed, I am happy. I am a person with simple pleasures, like nature, wildlife, music, and friends. I love camping and living with minimalistic necessities. I am always looking for opportunities to be outside.
Tadas: I am eager to help contribute my skills and flexibility towards eco-projects. My main driver is the force of nature: to live as close as possible to her and alongside her. I am an ecologist and biologist so what makes me happy is to protect wildlife and nature. I love getting to know cultures and language wherever I wander, and manual labor is a good friend of mine.
We're a couple of quirky nature enthusiasts looking to connect to people and cultures through travelling and story-telling.

I (Justina) have worked in gardens and landscaping. I have maintained the trails in the Grand Canyon National Park during the hot summer. I used a pick-mattock McLeod daily and rock drill chisel for masonry work. Safety skills and spatial awareness were so important to protect the crew, hikers, and mules coming down the canyon.
I've also removed invasive shrubs and trees in Midwest USA (herbicide, cut-stump). I also have a little experience with prescribed burning on prairies and forests.
Tadas and I worked on construction of a barn this year. I learned to use handsaw, electric drill, chainsaw, tractor, and more. We split firewood, collected food growing in the garden, and cooked meals outside together.

I (Tadas) have experience in construction, plant and wildlife management, restoration projects, and guided nature tours. I have my own nature guide service in Lithuania where I provide local knowledge of plants and animals to fellow hikers. I started building my own barn from scratch this year, so I have a good eye with carpentry, construction, and many aspects of housing (plumbing, electric etc.).
Also grew up on Lithuanian family farm, so have plenty of experience with animal care, garden and farm work.
We're both very quick and eager learners, and love making authentic Lithuanian food for family dinners.Age

We were responsible for tracking our hours and were able to work longer days to have long weekends, during which we were able to go to Waimea Canyon, Kalalau Trail, Nou'nou, and all of the snorkeling spots the island has to offer.
