Description

Hi! I am currently on my second gap year after secondary school. I plan on attending university in Fall 2024 and until then would like to continue traveling. I have been a beach lifeguard in Huntington Beach, California for three summer seasons and counting. I also have experience working as a file clerk/receptionist in a workers compensation law firm as well as a waitress at a high-end steakhouse and a ski patroller responding to medicals (broken bones, sprains, concussions, etc.) in the mountains during winter season. In the past year I spent 6 months backpacking through parts of Southeast Asia and Europe and am now, fortunately, addicted to the traveling lifestyle. I would like, in the next few months to be able to settle in a new place and become more familiar with the area I am staying in than I felt I could on my first trip. I am really looking forward to the prospect of having work that both enables me to extend my trip and that I enjoy!

Although I am on the younger side for a work exchange program I have experience in a lot of different professions. I have been babysitting and tutoring for many years. In the past four years, I have also worked multiple seasons as a beach lifeguard/junior lifeguard instructor and as a mountain ski patroller as well as spent time hostessing/waitressing in a restaurant and working as a file clerk/receptionist in a law firm. Throughout secondary school I was also an International Baccalaureate student at a school with very limited IB presence and on the board of multiple clubs.

Skills include: childcare of all ages, creation and management of sporting activities for children, tutoring of all ages (especially English, but also mathematics), first aid, swimming/surfing/kayaking, event management, waitressing, hosting

I am a very fast learner and a hard worker. I am very eager to learn new skills and hae new experiences!
