Hi all lovely people!
After finishing my studies in Mechatronics, Machine design i started on a quest to combine my technical knowledge together with sustainability and Environmentalism.
Some of the initiatives and activities:
- Act4Change
Empowering and supporting youth in Belgium to make all sorts of sustainibility projects happen! From a luminous idea to action!
- Asperitas (Amsterdam)
Helping a startup scale up to make data centers energy neutral worldwide.
With the technology, we captured otherwise lost heat and provided it to residential areas or industry so that they were able to drastically lower their carbon emissions
- European Emission Trading system
Helping in the ETS system to get Belgium Energy Neutral for 2050!
- Volunteering work in Swiss
Hands on work in a mountain cabine, Constructing and co running the cabin during the season and deconstructing the cabin after the season.
Learning about sustainability in the practical manner and being enriched in a philosophical manner in the scene of the Swiss Alps.
I have a wide variety of interests and they are growing by the week ;D
Passion for the outdoors guided me to doing sports such as climbing, wild water kayaking mountain biking and bike packing. These sports are seamlessly combined with doing improv theater, campfire philosophy, cultural exchange on the way, cooking, diy projects, and many, many more. :) There are just sooo many interesting things to learn, people to meet and adventures to experience! :D
For my DIY projects I am working mostly with wood and metal.
Some of the projects:
- Constructing a CNC to help me make other project happen as a result :)
- Making a 2m high Tallbike, completely out of refurbished material. (Picture in profile) It was used as an alternative taxi service to transport people in Amsterdam. I hope to use it as well again on one of my next adventures to come.
- Currently constructing a van to live in so I have a roof above my head and a bit more independent for when I am not bike packing.
- Cutting wooden spoons and other things out of wood in my spare time.
- Making wooden tables from fallen trees
- And many, many more projects..! :D
Currently I am prepping to leave my home base of Belgium ones more to build up something beautiful in Scandinavia. It has been on my planning for a long time but was always delayed because of other adventures. Life has its timing for everything and I feel that the time for the North is now finally on my doorstep to explore!
