Activities i am interested in:
I'm out in the Pacific Northwest of America, looking to travel for the next 6 weeks-ish. Meet some great new people and share some special adventures along the way.
Description
I was born and raised in the States, in Texas to be more specific, but am of East-Indian (Kerala to be exact) descent. For the last 17 years though, New York City has been home.
In 2013 I took my first workaway leap while in Spain. Ended up doing workaways--roughly 6 or 7--throughout western Europe for almost two years and got hooked.
I came back to the States and have been working in media--produced documentaries, wrote and reported podcasts, etc. I'm taking a break between jobs to adventure and see parts of the world that I have yet to explore.
Grateful and excited to get my workaway back on. This time a li'l older, a li'l less young and agile, but wiser with a whole lot more gumption.Languages

I've worked in media for the past ten years--that includes time behind google docs and spreadsheets, but also time in the field behind a camera or a microphone. Most recently I was a reporter-producer for a Spotify podcast.
I'm from Texas originally where I was born into a hard work blue collar life. I moved to New York where I took that grit mentality and melded it with a limitless creative/problem solving resolve. I brought to previous workaways where at times I came on retreat spaces to work small gardens and do simple handy-man work, and within a short time was basically helping manage the entire business operations. I painted, weeded, planted, maintained swimming pools and steam rooms, cleaned, did laundry, cooked staff meals, the list goes on. I won't say I have incredible expertise, but i'm a fast learner and have an insatiable curiosity to experience and grow.Age

What else ...
Ten years ago i did workaways throughout Europe for almost two years. One of the greatest experiences I've had. Changed my life dramatically.
I've been working the last two years in radio/podcast production--I worked for a Gimlet-Spotify original history podcast called Not Past It. We basically made a history audio documentary each and every week. It was a special show, but one that how now come to an end.
I'm taking some time between jobs at the moment. Using this time to try and workaway a bit around North America. Meet new people. Share in great, kind, special experiences. A li'l older and a li'l wiser (with a li'l less hair along with some more annoyingly achy joints).
Not looking for anything in particular, just the chance to work and meet new people. Have a few laughs and learn along the way. In the past I've done workaways that included--gardening and landscaping, painting and home handy-manning, hostel working, general toursim management, yoga retreat management, english teaching. One of those jack-of-all-trades/master-of-none with an insatiable curious appetite to learn and experience. Some more information
