  • Description

Hello! (Or "Moin!" as we say in my hometown Hamburg :))

I'm Hannah, a 19 year old student from Germany. I graduated from high school this spring and as I won't start my studies until next year, I've decided to spend the time in between doing what I love the most: travelling, meeting new people and learning about other cultures.
I strongly believe that cultural exchange and the opportunity to see new parts of the world are key elements when it comes to personal growth and independence.

In the past years I've been lucky enough to visit some incredible places like the US West Coast and beautiful cities like London, Barcelona and Paris. My Interrail trip this year has been the best travelling experience so far!
Especially France has always been a country I've felt a certain connection with - I love the language! French is my third language, so one of my goals is to improve my language skills as much as I can this year.

Apart from languages, I am passionate about dancing (I am a ballroom dancer), music (I love going to concerts!) and good movies.
I would describe myself as an openminded and reliable person who enjoys team work very much. Achieving something together doubles the joy!

I am so looking forward to meeting other workawayers and hosts and having a great time the next couple of months :)

  • More details about your skills

As my majors in school were English, French and History, I should probably start by mentioning those subjects as part of my "soft skills" :)

When it comes to practical skills, I have had the opportunity to gain some work experience in a local organic supermarket. During my employment I was responsible for checkout transactions, customer care and the storage of goods. Moreover, I was able to learn a lot about organic products and sustainability - a matter very close to my heart.

Apart from that I have babysitting and tutoring experience (I used to babysit for different families which I really enjoyed and helped two students outside of school as a French "tutor").
I also spent my last two years of school as the chief editor of our school's newspaper, so writing and team leadership skills came in handy :)

I am open and excited to learn new skills!
